  1. You can't grow a business buying local and privately, far too time consuming.
  2. Dear Mr Customer, you bought an old used car. The fault wasn't present at the time of purchase which you confirmed by signing the comprehensive PDI. Wear and tear is clearly not covered under the CRA. It is your responsibility to take ownership to repair and maintain your car.
  3. Hi Matt I'm around 25, the more cars you have the more you sell, the more money you make, the more you manage your time to make more money.. Example, get all cars delivered, get your workshops, paint & valeters to collect and deliver. Logistics will envelope your time, delegate it out and develop your brand
  4. I took a S6 in as PX, it sold within 48h, got a call the next day from the buyer saying had I left anything in the car, I said no... He then said he found a breitling watch wrapped is a sock under the rear seat worth about 5k ! I rang the guy who PX it, he also knew nothing about it
  5. I absolutely agree with "Straight Talk" and getting the foundations right when Mr Customer is in cloud cuckoo land. They need to be told upfront, explained in writing and signed for (legally) I don't agree with sellers breaking the law and giving the trade a very bad name, and I equally don't agree with anyone who thinks that is an acceptable way to conduct business.
  6. Too add, this is a public forum for anyone to view. If you really are a car dealer YOU are exactly what shames the industry.
  7. BHM, your attitude stinks, it is everything the real trade want to be extinguished from the public perception. Do you really think it is acceptable to mislead, lie, break the law and screw an innocent member of the public. If YOU think that is an acceptable way to treat a customer, let alone another human being you are wholeheartedly wrong. People who do that are not only criminal they are scummy low life's. End of
  8. Absolutely right Tony. The CRA is there to protect us from unreasonable claims, you just need to prep well and cover your yourself. I'm with Lawgistics, they are worth every penny. Cheers Simon
  9. I don't buy french cars, cheap, nasty, poorly made.
  10. Hi, welcome, my advise would be to not bother with warranty companies, you are far better off managing your own warranty booklet scheme, use (lawgistics) they are fantastic. Put away £150 per car into a pot to cover any issues, ok you will be hit occasionally but end the end of the year their should be a nice wedge left for a holiday. The secret is prep well, sell the car on the basis of that prep and cover your ass on everything. Best of luck
  11. The advert is clearly very misleading. The car has to be as described and fit for the purpose intended. It is illegal to sell an unroadworthy vehicle to the public without very clearly explaining in the advert and putting in writing on the invoice that the car is "unroadworthy" & "should not be driven on the road" and must be "transported away". The seller has broken the law, he is asking to be prosecuted by trading standards who would take a very dim view. Take the car back and demand a full refund. Sellers like this give the trade a bad name and should be stopped. Mr_mg name and shame him
  12. Don't do it. Unless you sell it as per the rules of the CRA stating it's a customers car. Cover your self
  13. My local tyre centre charge £20 to remove, why do people take them out of their car ???????
  14. Dr Mr Customer, maintaining your car is your responsibility. The CRA protects the seller from unreasonable claims, wear and tear is not covered. An 8 year old seal breaking is clearly due to age and use. Good day to you.
  15. Auctioneers will bluff the sale, don't believe they are sold.
  16. Forget the auctioneer, he will run you up. You just have to decide your limit and be prepared to turn your back and walk out. When the auctioneers knows you are actually a regular buyer you will get more loyalty, however you have to turn your back many many times to show them you don't allow yourself to be run up... Plenty more cars....
  17. Piston ring wear and tear for a 3 cylinder Polo of its age and mileage should be expected, the engine hasn't failed its showing commensurate wear. It is proven that engine at that mileage will show the wear indicated, reiterate it should be expected.
  18. Its a car that cost £1500, what do they expect...Tell them, it is showing wear and tear commensurate with the 3 cylinder model at its age and mileage, to expect anything else is unreasonable.
  19. SAFPOO, experience and knowledge sells cars.
  20. I'm so quiet I'm actually missing the time-wasters.
  21. After a 10 day draught, I sold PX to clear yesterday. Thinking about changing my name to morguemotors.co.uk
  22. The majority are lemons, that's why they are there.
