  1. Seriously, get out of it as quick as you can. Block it, take the loss and get some of your money back, otherwise it'll continue to eat your pocket and confidence. Accepting losses are part of the game, you buy on the block you throw the dice....
  2. The most remembered and the quickest for me was a 530D Sport out of Bridgy, 3k in less that 6 hours (early days of ebay). I thought I was being cheeky but Mr C was after exactly what I had. No messing.
  3. Run through his workshop for you to pay him, he's already cherry picked, given you the dross and then you have to pay him to fix it.....mmmmm
  4. lol, your going to buy his dregs and make a profit. I can see him reeeelllliiinnnng you in.
  5. They can't reject it. They can only reject in the first 30 days if the car is unfit for purpose and they can prove the fault was present when you sold it. Wear n tear is not covered buy the CRA15, don't bend over and be bullied. If the car shows character for its age and mileage that should be expected. Be reasonable and repair what you are only liable to repair....nothing else
  6. Scroll down to the bottom, click on classic site and use as a desktop site. eBay mobile app is rubbish, Yes, I'm on 22 cars and it's nearly 2k a month. That's the basic package. AT sell cars and they know it.
  7. Hi Dean, it's a lot cheaper if you become an eBay Motors Pro Seller. I'm paying £140 per month for up to 20 adverts at any one time.
  8. Agreed. First lesson in sales don't advertise a negative.
  9. I see it differently, not necessarily rightly though. If you advertise brake down cover as a benefit, surely you are advertising your cars could potentially fail. I wouldn't advertise failure in any way at all.......
  10. I agree, he didn't know if he was or wasn't. The thing is though, with such a short wheel-base is there is absolutely no stability..... Would you want your children driving around in a plastic Corgi car that's capable of 80mph ?? I know I certainly wouldn't.
  11. Great fun until it kills you https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4127814/amp/Driver-thrown-clear-car-shocking-motorway-crash.html
  12. Maybe too much info..... After further thought, if is seals a deal.....
  13. Jim, whats fun about the way they drive ? IMO they are horrid to drive, bouncy, bumpy, uncomfortable with a stupid lethargic gear change that makes you feel like its lost power and going to die on you. Everyone I have had has been a seriously bad driving experience, including the Brabus.
  14. My first job was a Valeter at 16 at a local garage. When i passed my test at 17 that's 31 years ago I bought a Px (moggy 1000) for £150, cleaned it and sold it within a week for £800. Got the bug Btw, I was on £1.25 an hour £50 a week !!
  15. I pride myself in offering excellent aftercare service to my customers, and normally bend over backwards to help them, I'm firm but fair. However some buyers, especially on old banger's think they are buying sponsored motoring buy going to a dealer. The CRA is very clear, yes it has to be "fit for purpose" but "wear and tear" is not covered. These buyers just quote it has to be "fit for purpose" and forget about the bit about expected "wear and tear". They are buying an old used machine and their expectations should be befitting. To expect a new car coverage warranty is just ridiculous. I say it again, you don't get gold for the price of silver. Too add, I would of expected my customer to have rung me to discuss the problem like a human being, not gone elsewhere and sent a text making demands.
  16. I see, so when he needs some fuel, tyres, brakes, bulbs, insurance renewal, holiday, we should pay for that as well....(for what it's worth) my opinion is no.
  17. Jim, the customer bought an old used car, they didn't buy a comparative nearly new car like your stock. With respect, you miss the point, its a 10 year old car with 10 year old parts and the customers expectations should be realistic with the expectations of the CRA. When selling older cars, you cannot expect the same coverage and the CRA is very clear disclaiming age mileage use etc. You are comparing chalk and cheese and I am afraid Mr Customer does not get Gold for the price of Silver.
  18. We all help customers who treat us with respect. When they treat us like a PPI claims company, that friendship ends. I would normally agree with Jim & Uemesh's approach. But the customer didn't communicate politely and showed no loyalty to MrC.
  19. I think we are all forgetting this customer didn't bother to contact the MrC initially, he's taken it elsewhere got it scanned and then sent a TEXT demanded a repair. His first communication should have been with MrC.
  20. Disco 3s are very good news Margin wise, and vastly better cars than earlier models. They sell really quickly as well. Try buying a few to make a bigger margin £1500, join BCA and Manheim. I buy from Maheim, at noon and 4pm they upload new stock, I search at these times for BIN cars Silver Check (read the appraisal report) and take a punt.
  21. The car was 7/8 years past any period the manufacturer was prepared to guarantee its quality. To expect new car ownership guarantees for an old used car isn't reasonable. BHM. I wholeheartedly absolutely agree with you
