  1. This may seem excessive at first but it needs to be done; Hire a privet detective who can put the customer under surveillance get pictures and videos of her driving about in the car. Get them to also write a witness statement/or attend court. She will be easy to track down you have her details on the invoice and also court papers. I would avoid going to the police for now as that will tip her off that your on to her; Get the meeting notes from your court case where she claims the cars been in the garage. Let her make a false/fraud counter claim - then you come in with your evidence showing she's been driving about in the car Hopefully she's gets a quote/report form a garage claiming car underivable - and you have evidence her wizzying along at 70 odd on a motorway. Also try looking on her social media feeds like facebook/twitter/instagram she may have posted something thats mentions her car - all these social media types love to show off about what they've been upto or what new thing they have. As they say "given em enough rope to hang themselves"
  2. Hi Guys Thank you all for your feedback very much appreciated. I wanted to keep the add sweet and simple hoping they would call for more info however I've since added to the description pride and joy sort of stuff. You guys have confirmed my initial thoughts about it being a gearbox stigma. I just hope it appeals to the younger market mid 20s first Mercedes type so they may not be too fused. Price wise I'm going keep as it is now maybe lower it to £6995 at a push I'm just going to have to play the waiting game. This a option I'm considering. Thanks
  3. Hi Guys, I posted a few months back about setting up trading I'm still do this most likely next year now (delays work arrangements & with a house purchase fall through no thanks to estate agents people think motor traders are sharks) Until then I want to get rid of my own personal car rather have the money in the bank, I've brought a cheap run around. I've had it advertised on Auto trader for 2 weeks now getting the hits but no calls I would appreciate some feedback on the add (be as critical as you want no offense taken) I've priced it up correctly originally it was at £7495. I think the slow response may be down to it being a manual? any advice would be great. 4. Hi, Thank you all for your advice some very good points raised & very reassuring that I'm on the right path. I will 100% look into the self funded warranties as I think there worth while in the long run. I think in this day and age a website is must, lots of clear quality photos and a short video of each car. I going to come up with some uniformed branding across website, adverts, number plate covers (for when photographing stock), documents so everything looks all consistent & professional.
  5. Hi Guys, I'm Looking into getting into the trade part time for now then hoping to expand (Yes I hear you, no part time in the trade) buying and selling from home two to three cars a month..etc I know it’s not easy and if I’m not careful I can lose more then I make. This is my plan so far Set up LTD Trade insurance & trade plates Register at a few auction houses but also source privately and use sites like dealer auction. Register for VAT once hit the threshold I don't get wrong side of CRA - every car will be sold with 12 months MOT, serviced if required & PDI checked (using lawgistics sheet) ****This is where I need some advice**** Not sure if to supply 3 months or 6 months warranty as standard and which warranty company to use. I was very keen Warranty Wise but in the T&C it states wear and tear is not covered for first 30 days or 1000 miles (which ever latest *not first) also if claims rejected customer is liable for recovery charges on breakdown etc. I don't want customers chasing me for recovery costs. From reading reviews it sounds like there great for small bits but not big jobs. Also there was a review I came across from a dealer stating they declined a repair as the dealer had not sold enough warranty even though there’s no set amount. What’s your experience of warranty wise or another company you can recommend? I would like to look into self-funded admin warranties from lawgistics but feel I need to focus on getting the business running first.
