Alfa romeo's, lovely cars but just give grief. We have a 09 plate mito in the workshop now which is mainly based on a punto and it still giving us grief. Some people hate vauxhalls which I admit do go wrong a lot but the issues are so common they are straightforward to fix. parts are cheap and plentiful French cars are a pain, I will not buy 308, will buy 207, new shape megan is a decent car, scenic pre 2009 was a dog.

I would also like this post @Mikey you don't think CDM are against us cheshire folk -
aged 16 had scooter cost me £15 a year to tax, Couldnt pay monthly then

They do check the credit file of applicants, where I think you are getting confused is credit scoring. Most prime lenders use scorecards to approve finance, A few details in the system and yes or no given. With sub prime it's more based on the person's ability to pay, balanced against their credit history. Manual underwriting.

We have designed our own website using wix. We used it for the auction businesses few years back with success. Ours is due to go live next week with the launch of or new pitch company. If you can use a platform like wix or fasthosts then its worth doing, save money and not have to keep updating via 3rd party.

As long as we don't go back to horse and cart we should all still have a job.
-
yes we use sage, works well for us and does reduce the paperwork. Also the reports are easy to work out like profit / loss, just a tidy system to use.

sub prime are secured loans against the car not personal loans. HP

it doesn't matter if your pitch is £500per month or £2000 per month, its all the other costs on top like staff, rates, insurance, consumables, warranty payments etc that add up. I know guys selling 20 cars a month and not even breaking even some months, and others selling 5-8 a month and live like kings.

Stand your ground and go all the way lol Turn up for it asking for the keys.

Yes, I am dreading this when I get my first rejection from Finance. I hope the case that lawgistics won the other month will start a change of tack from finance houses working more closer with dealers to resolve issues rather than reject and run. We know there are good finance houses who will work with dealers and some who seem to be acting like a sour of sh*t. Look forward to hearing about your pending case @Rory RSC hope it goes your way.

I would never agree to this. this is why service report or pdi sheet is vital.

£2.5K for a bad ass Golf on the W plate, Did you keep his number sounds a right trinket Sold an old punto that came in chop today, the old man came back for it. Was getting worried as we had not heard from him, I would of hated for something terrible to happen to him before purchasing one of my fine chariots.

what was the outcome

2wd 4x4's, I bought a RAV 4 2wd once, It would've been easier to sell bacon to the arabs than sell that thing, The amount of people who came to view only to drive off when finding out it was 2wd. In the end I sold to a lady who wanted it to put her wheelchair in and wanted high driving position, she didn't care it was 4wd or steam driven. Never mind @Mojo121 a nice trip out to the block for some overpriced metal should cheer you up
-
Yes very grey area, Best thing to do is make the wife take the bus
-
Do you not buy stock then Mojo has you have just ruled out all the options

Glad to hear your not opening up on my patch Only kidding lol. We are due to open our new pitch in this field in less than 2 weeks time. IMO near / sub prime is the future, there is lots of lenders out there offering finance, and there is no trying to smartly price your vehicles to compete with the dealer next door or AT. If you work it right it can work very well. fellow traders I know have moved into this field in the last few years and its changed there lives. Lots of fellow traders recommend First response, well worth having on your lending panel. I myself intend to sign up with them this week all being well. Good luck, and keep in touch with the forum, there are some great guys on here with lots of experience and wisdom.

If you have the confidence to get back into it from the word go buy taking on a unit then fair play, but maybe get yourself back into it more gentle as a lot has changed. Advertising is a big killer, if you want the best chance of selling metal then Autotrader is the one but it's very expensive to throw 20 cars on. if you can master facebook and advertise on its platforms then do it, it's the future and will bring in customers at the fraction of AT. Consumer rights and finance is a little odd at the min, choose your finance company well, some are acting unfair to dealers and just rejecting cars at the first sign of trouble, others will work with you and care about their dealer relationships. Self admin warranties its the future, dont waste your time with conventional warranty firms. they just take your money and weasel out of everything. I am about to open a 2nd site for subprime customers, similar stock numbers and price bracket as you. In this game you learn all the time, knowledge is priceless

Depends what type of finance firms you want on aboard and your customer base, where abouts in the uk are you out of interest and what price and age of vehicles are you selling. ?

Learn something new. To be fair I have borrowed a plate to a fellow trader once or twice think twice next time. We have always been lucky round are end of the country, never seem to ever get pulled on trade plates. Plod just doesn't seem bothered in traders near us, to busy dealing with the local youth sniffing sellotape and stealing chomps.
-
As far as i am aware anyone can use your plates with your permission as long as its for the benefit of your business / company. They don't have to be on your insurance but they would need to be covered by some sort of trade policy.
-
Yes, It would cover that, In fact they still ask on application form if you are using it for vehicles sales and transport of vehicles, and / or vehicle inspections referring to garages.
