No financial catch tradex, you've just got to be prepared to take the time to learn the system and get the maximum benefit from it. Take a peek and see for yourself the concept. use this reg BN61BKZ with the mileage 23123 and then select any option from the remaining choices. It goes hand in hand with making good use of the WBAC domain that I also own. Would love to welcome you to the party along with anyone else.

Sorry, wish I did but I also own sellacartoday.com so if anyone wants to advertise that then I've no objections
-
I own the domain name webuyanycarorvan.com and got a Phone call from someone who said he was a solicitor acting on their behalf and what my intentions were for that domain, I told him it was for sale and he could buy it. Never heard from them again so i bought wbac.co.uk to use instead

Simple question. If you were given your own cash for cars website with no marketing costs, no upfront fees, and transaction fees that are a fraction of what you currently pay via other sourcing options would you use it?
-
Nice speaking to you Sparky and thanks for taking the time to get you set up now let the sensible buying commence!

Pm me your number as we've got a big campaign going out tomorrow and would love for you to get involved as things have progressed a lot since I sent you that link.

my turn this week. Asked to source a cheap 3 series for a family friend. Found one that fitted the bill, bought it on a whim as it wasn't dear thinking if they don't want it it should sell anyway, took it to get checked out by my mechanic, parked it up on a slight incline where it stayed for about an hour then the next thing I know is one of his customers came in and informed me that they just witnessed the bm suddenly roll down the incline and straight into the side of an X5, it's blocking the road so it needs moving. Goes out to move it my bm needs a bumper and bonnet, X5 new passenger door and wing. Then my mechanic tells me it's one of his customers and he's just serviced it and you couldn't of picked a worst customer for it to happen to. We agreed last night that I'd pay to get it repaired at a body shop of his choice as long as the quote wasn't stupid therefor saving the no claims bonus. Man comes to see me today saying he's now lost confidence in the car and demands I buy it from him for full retail to which I replied here's my insurance details sort it out with them. His face dropped he was convinced I'd write a cheque for 17.5k there and then now he's got to play the insurance game and wait weeks for the repair if he'd of done it my way it'd be all repaired tomorrow as I'd managed to source a wing and complete door in in the same colour from a breakers. Look on the bright side at least no one was hurt

Morning all, any Audi and VAG buyers on here?
-
doesn't matter when you bought them it's when you sell them that counts. If the invoice date is after you become vat registered then margin vat applies, however you can claim any vat that you've paid in relation to these cars, prep, buyers fees etc. good luck with the new pitch
-
Sorry to here it, sympathize with you it's not easy out there. Good luck let's hope you're back with a bang soon.

Car stolen last night from our garage - Trackers? info please
Phil H replied to BCC's topic in General Dealer Chat
I think the reason that they go for a pitch rather than a driveway is to do with the length of time till it's reported. Steal off a drive at say 11 on a Saturday night they don't know if it'll be noticed missing at midnight when they return from the pub, 5 o'clock sunday morning when they wake up for a shift, 8 o'clock when they go to church etc. Etc. When they steal from a pitch they know your opening times so can plan what to do with it before the crime is reported. Dirty robbing barstewards. -
I've also been informed that if it's an SOR car then the CRA2015 doesn't apply as you're acting as an agent not the seller, the business doesn't actually own it at the point of sale but you must inform the buyer of this and clearly document it on the invoice accompanied by the buyers signature. Not worth the hassle unless you've got loads of empty space or have a very decent margin in it.

There's far to much choice in the car market, take for instance Volvo XC60 diesel's guess how many different standard models you could choose from between 2008 and 2013?

Question? carbaya then why have a picture of a van?

How do you respond to Autotrader part ex enquiry?
Phil H replied to Ocsltd's topic in General Dealer Chat
I agree with justina3 you should never pre judge email enquiries just because the previous one was a terry osser. Respond to them all you never know what may come of it -
Thanks mate it's been a long 18 months in the making and it's already got people liking the concept, but just like anything new it takes time to build up traction and the best thing about for us dealers is we can buy and sell stock between ourselves for free.
-
received, sent it out to 3500 dealers for you. They'll contact you directly. Good luck. How easy did you find it to use?
-
HI Mate, send us the details via your buyers compared account and i'll email it to all the dealers for you. PM me if you've forgotten your login details. Phil

People do get carried away at auction and the big boys need to fill empty spaces. It's amazing how some of these places work on volume not profit from the car but from all the add ons, finance, admin fees, extended warranty etc. etc.

For years Auto Trader have enjoyed the unrivaled privilege of maintaining the position of being the number one classified advert site. Historically they've achieved this by giving their customers what they want, an easy affordable route for dealers to showcase their stock to potential buyers and buyers to be able to easily browse at their leisure for a new car. However we live in changing times, it's no longer an easy affordable route for Dealers due to multiple price increases, features that alienate like the PX tool and partnerships poaching finance business. Then we have the sponsored listings, those who pay most get seen first. Now that's not very transparent is it after all transparency is the buzz word on every ones lips. Let's take a look at the contenders for the 2017 Christmas number one classified website Auto Trader Pro's Household name, current market leader on things like unique visitors, established dealer network generating enormous amounts of revenue and profit. Con's Genuine dealer resentment to products that aren't very transparent. A PX Tool that when ticked half of the adverts vanish due to dealers not subscribing to it even though it's free at the moment. Then we have the mobile site whereby a consumer searching for their next car has to view all of the sponsored listings first before being able to view the normal listings even if the sponsored ones aren't as relevant. And let's not forget Auto Traders huge debt mountain £527.9 million in March 1015. Someone's got to pay for that, their customers, and more and more of their customers are leaving meaning those who stay need to pay more. Car Gurus Pro’s No shareholder pressure to turn a profit, proven track record in the states, big deep pockets. Con’s Already upsetting dealers with things like great value markers and days in stock. Since when have classified advert sites been qualified to dictate prices to consumers. Price isn’t everything someone may have a cheap car compared with guide prices but upon purchasing the car it could be riddled with bodged faults and the dealers customer service may be well below par and don’t forget there’s more than 1 guide price so how do consumers know this price marker is accurate? Motors Pro’s Part of a big privately family owned group with lots of fingers in lots of pies Con’s Lots of dealers getting disgruntled by the way they get treated by some of its sister companies, unhappy with partnerships with 3rd party finance companies and allowing its sister company to offer to buy the customers part exchanges directly from the public only to sell back to the trade via another one of its sister companies a large auction chain. Someone a bit more transparent Pro’s Got the backing of the dealer network, genuinely puts both the needs of the dealers and the consumers before profits. Wants to help grow its customer base by working closely with all involved. A product that thinks out of the box. Con’s Not in the public domain yet As you can see from the con’s that I’ve listed above all of the big 3 at the moment seem to be hell bent on focusing all of their attention on upsetting its core customers, the dealer network, these are the people who pay the companies wages and profit but are increasingly getting frustrated by paying more for less. Now if I was to hazard a guess for the Christmas number 1 classified website in 2017 here would be my prediction. Fourth Place - Motors.co.uk Third Place - Auto Trader Second Place - Car Gurus First Place - Someone a bit more transparent. I’m privileged to know who that someone a bit more transparent is and when it comes its going to take you all by surprise and the only way you can stop it is by stopping to upset your core paying customers. The Dealer Network. Without them you wouldn’t be in business.
