  1. enlighten me countryman whats HayDay I may like to try it?
  2. Disaster the heavens have opened and nobody was out in the sleepy village of Rainford today managed a measly score of 2, a group of 3 pensioners standing at the bus stop gained me 3 points and some smiles but I got a minus 1 for set of V's from a cyclist who I tried to get which put a smile on my face.
  3. Ok I'm bored today phone hasn't rang for days not even those nuisance ppi calls so in times like this I quite often go out and play the beep beep game, you should try it it's fun and easy to do and will put a smile on your face, here's the rules. Get in your motor and go for a drive and all you have to do is when you see someone walking along that you DON'T know beep and wave, if they wave back you get a point, if they don't you lose a point unless it's someone whose hands are full with either shopping or holding a dog on a lead then you get 5 points for a wave with one hand full, 10 points for a wave with 2 hands full or a whopping 25 points for a wave from someone with both hands full who drops their bags on the floor to wave back. Be careful though because if you go for the big point scoring options and you get no wave you have to deduct the same amount of points that you would of got if they waved. The look on their face is priceless and they'll be thinking all day who was it that beeped and you'll put a smile on their face. Let me know your scores and any unusual waves you get. Good Luck I'm off and I'll let you know my score soon.
  4. Today's problem is not with simulcast but with wrong descriptions, bought 2 vans online last week, came in 2 hours early today so that the transporter driver who was dropping them off early could get his full days work done without running out of driving hours, signed for them without checking them over and both are not as described not just silly little things like the odd missed mark here and there but big things like one having covered 10000 miles more than was sold to me and the other one being a 1.9 100ps engine when it was sold to me as a 2.0 115ps engine. Please manheim if you want us to have confidence in buying online you must make sure you have adequate measures and systems in place to ensure the vehicles arrive are as described because both of these vehicles will be coming right back to you, wasting your time and mine.
  5. hi Jim, the box is rubbish, I drive a 59 plate Astravan and do about 25k a year in it and I'm on my third recon box in the last 18 months, my advice is that if there's any bearing noise at all get it fixed straight away because if the bell housing gets damaged they're a fortune to replace. My gearbox man has now managed to get hold of some uprated bearings for it and only charges £350 now for a full recon. Just about to get mine done again now with the newer bearing kit
  6. Just been buying on simulcast today, no problems at all hopefully manheim have listened and will continue to do so.
  7. Thanks GG I think I got off the hook lightly apparently he's on the phone moaning everyday, unrealistic expectations I think, he bought a 10 year old 100k ex royal mail transit for 2.5k mechanically sound but no gold bar in the glovebox.
  8. I wonder if the likes of Manheim and BCA actually consult any dealers before making changes or just have the attitude this is what we're doing just get on with it? Over to you Manheim I'm sure you'll respond and let us know.
  9. Found out yesterday why the man didn't turn up at 11 he'd gone to one of my mates pitch and bought one from him. it was nice of him to let me know as he new I was coming in just for him.
  10. hopefully they'll get the teething problems sorted out and we can buy uninterrupted. Lost out on 2 today as simulcast froze just as my lots where going through. has anyone else noticed that the bids appear on screen a lot quicker than the voice, today on one lot it said 5100 click to bid but the auctioneer was still at 4400?
  11. Just trying to buy via simulcast at leeds commercials, it keeps on dropping out and there is a huge delay and it's not down to my internet connection. Absolute rubbish as far as I'm concerned. The old one was better.
  12. Is that you're trading name Cox Automotive? I'd just check if you can trade under that name as Cox automotive own manheim and you wouldn't want any IP rights issues.
  13. Hers's one for you, customer books an appointment for 11.00 today after travelling some 230 miles to get to us he phones me at 10.00 to say that he's at the pitch and it's all locked up. I explained that weekends is by appointment only as I live 35 miles away and I was on my way in for his appointment at 11.00. Ok he says he'll come back at 11. Going home now as he's not answering his phone so I can only presume that he's on his way back home as am I.
  14. I hate it when that happens and it happens far to often for my liking, they could be bothered to pick up the phone to book the appointment what's so hard about doing it to cancel it instead of realizing a few days later after viewing the competition that yours is the best on the market and coming up with some sob story about how the cat ate the goldfish and the kids where upset so they couldn't pick up the phone!
  15. I would agree the old one worked well, now each page takes ages to load. You know the saying if it ain't broke but company's do. Sometimes simple is best.
  16. Hi Graham, I'm a larger than life character who tells it exactly how it is to both customers and suppliers alike, only problem I gave up selling as many cars 10 years ago and now sell vans with a passion instead. Apart from that I think I'm exactly what you're looking for. I'd be happy to help.
  17. It seems that some of these cameras on the motorway are operated by the Highways Agency the ones in green casings and only used for monitoring trafic http://www.highways.gov.uk/traffic-information/traffic-information-services/traffic-cameras/why-does-the-highways-agency-use-anpr/ or http://www.highways.gov.uk/traffic-information/traffic-information-services/traffic-cameras/cameras-fair-processing-notice/ some are used and enforced by the council, some are used and enforced by private companies and some are used and enforced by the police. So it seems like whoever owns it enforces it. Can't find anything about legislation though but my sister's company uses's anpr for car park monitoring so I'll see if she can get me any information for you.
  18. sold a van to johnny depp via a film company to be converted for his personal DJ, didn't believe the man until the official order came through and had to deliver it to shepperton studios
  19. Your speed is calculated between each camera not on the average speed of the journey, however you used to be able to avoid getting caught as the initial legislation only covered each lane and didn't take into account lane hopping. That has now changed http://www.confused.com/car-insurance/blogs/blog-can-you-fool-a-speed-camera
  20. Welcome back to the trade, as they say once it's in your blood it never goes. Try small independent van dealers as most of these won't retail cars and get a lot of cheaper cars offered in px against vans, or a friend of mine advertises in the local rag, simple ad stating cars wanted up to £3000 it costs him about £40 a week and he gets on average 2 or 3 every week mainly older customers who are still frightened about using the net, and they are all on your doorstep. Good luck let us know how you get on
  21. One of My New Years Resolutions was to never I'll never use autotrader again and here's why. Back in 2008/09 I signed up to Dealer Edit for a 3 month trial period, cancelled it after the 3 months as it was just to expensive for my size of business reverted back to just using ebay and advertising selected Vans on autotader on an individual basis. Over the years I've found out that for some reason Vauxhall Vivaro's sell better when advertised on Autotrader, So last year I Placed an advert for a very desirable model in a good colour with sensible miles, after 3 weeks still not one phone call so I go to check pricing and edit the ad if required, ad appears as usual with the brief description and contact numbers but when you clicked on it you got an error message, tried all of my other ad's and they did the same, phoned autotrader who said that they would work to get the issue resolved but I wanted to know why this had happened to all of my ad's and nobody else's. A couple of days later I got a phone call from a Very Polite lady who said that she'd received an email from another department who said the problem was caused by a block on my email address placed by the dealer edit department. She didn't know why or how long this had been going on for but would find out for me and let me know. I got her direct line number and name and she said she would personally deal with it. Several phone calls from me to her later I've never got hold of her again, left several messages not one replied to and still to this day I don't know how long had the email block had been in place? Was it only a few weeks? As I'd just told the the rep never to contact me again as I wasn't interested in Dealer Edit I was quite happy as I was. Or had it been in place for all those years since I cancelled my dealer edit subscription? Guess I'll never know and but I do know that his is the only new years resolution that I've managed to keep.

Hey Umesh, remember cellyourcar.com, this is Phil. We came to the market 10 years ago fresh with the idea of helping Dealers buy cars from the public. Many of the registered Dealers on our site have gone on to create their own versions of what we first launched. Some more successful than others, no names mentioned. Now 10 years later, we are coming back with a brand new concept that we hope will shake up the market and bring some much needed innovation when sourcing stock. We want to help Dealers with their stock and help the public when selling to the trade. A new quicker, instant and hassle free way is coming soon, Watch out WBAC and AT. A piece of the pie for all is coming
