  1. my policy states over 21 years of age remember you must accompany them on test drives the paperwork routine often gets rid of freeloaders never offer a test drive until they look or are indeed committed by deposit to a test drive its not a requirement you give them its a sales opportunity for you to close the deal how are you doing by the way?
  2. if you fit customer parts then you have to warrant them most garages will not fit customer parts because of any legal implications if parts fail plus they lose 15% mark up min best advice is if they want to bring it back let them and get your mechanic to chamfer the edge of the pads and possibly fit a new anti rattle kit
  3. so to summarise #its been clocked #its been doing driving school lessons it was an uber for 2 weeks sorry nick im out
  4. never liked them used to see them coming down the chute at 3 years old and thinking what a boring car i have this vision they were all in wulsborg silver too? kids can get cheapo classic insurance on these so it will possibly will sell but to me i would be looking and chancing 2g
  5. its the oldest trick in the book trader buys car off dealer /owner clocks it sells it at another auction they normally use a blunt instrument on the service book though so tell us what you have found out rather than half guessing was this an assured seller you bought it off next time keep your hands in your pocket on dodgy mileages because you will bust a gut selling them
  6. first thing is put a good battery on its so easy to blow modules if jump starting cars particularly fords as they are smart charge basically its a no no you will do 100 and get away with it but 101 goes with a puff see https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/64988-jump-sarting-vehicle-using-jump-leads/ this ones better theres lots of words but words save pounds http://www.bba-reman.com/forums/Topic56772.aspx
  7. you can ring the mot stations up and query it but it seems a straight case of clocking to increase trade in price this is why i always check dvsa before i bid,i have one here where its clearly an error by mot station 5 years ago but it will be shown to a purchaser put on their receipt and made to sign that they have seen the anomaly someone posted this site up a few weeks back its cracking to get quick up to date info https://caranalytics.co.uk
  8. you will be old one day young man and ill kick your stick away
  9. its only three hours away you do make up poor excuses you do and he isnt selling boats as theres no docks in stamford just a big statue of some dead geezer
  10. that would mean giving away all the log book you cant put it in trade either so i do believe you fill the export bit in,ive done it but i forgot what i did and still got a nip for when he drove it to the docks untaxed i sent off a copy of my timed receipt to the men in big hats and never heard another diddle
  11. i went into wetherspoons for a sunday meal it was cold (the food),can you please tell them my displeasure if you ever go in thank you
  12. no rates remenber if its reasonable to rent and you think its a goer why not take it on on a yearly rolling lease if you can, this way after 9 months you can intention to quit etc
  13. Just read this and see you used the phrase muddy waters and i just used the same words in another thread not having read this ive never won anything in my life so please go buy a lottery ticket and i will pay you the £1 towards it when we win ps what is this postal order thing one speaks of
  14. to muddy the waters deeper you buy car not in trade but apply for log book pay £25 its also good practice to v890 at the same time why? because if you dont once the log book arrives you need to sorn it,this makes taxing online impossible for up to a week if you sell it fairly fast, this means you either need to phone up the dvla to tax (never done this) or find a PO that can tax for you and also if its in your name then apparently as its not in trade even though the log book is now registered to your trading name business you cannot do test drives on trade plates you are supposed to tax it no wonder i voted brexit so things like this can be put right for future generations when we get our old laws eventually back (including hanging, did i say i might run as an MP
  15. just put the hex back to factory standard
  16. i would be buying one of these and stripping to ascertain the fault then repairing then offering the service on ebay if i could be bothered but in this instance i cant because its a merc but thanks for the info
