  1. I do buy this type of stuff if availabubble and yes often have to ring after the 5 weeks and then miracously it turns up 5 days later mmm I'm currently waiting for a log book sent out by the dvla on the 4th and it's not arrived, I have visions of another trader being given it and he's thinking ha he can't sell that then This is why I use the PO if they have been put in trade but this little luxury is about to be taken away Oh well soon be out of this job and feet up
  2. Thanks I don't watch the telly box but do follow the news so somehow I've missed this I agree UK plc is firmly down the tubes, I even had to self diagnose to my doctor to get some much needed tablets last month, only thing is I'm now growing boobies as I told him the wrong symptoms
  3. Just been to the post office to tax a car and asked for some v62, s I got them but was advised they are struggling to get them from the dvla because taxing at the post office is being stopped in april I am awaiting a log book via dvla now 6 days overdue which is why I confirm some cars are in trade and then tax them for customers at the post office What's going to happen come April and how come I found this out via the post office and not mainstream knowledge? It's bad enough phoning or using webchat to get through to the dvla now as most of them are still working from home Comments please,
  4. This has always been my principle Years ago a team used to go to my preffered auction early and doctor the stuff they wanted and nick any service books, I knew these were the cars to buy so always outbid them and back at work a quick search of the car had the fully stamped books found and the bonnet opened with a long stick They never knew that I knew Sad thing is I found out only a week ago that 2 out of 3 of them aren't with is anymore, nice guys too So take life as it comes
  5. Helped someone this week who's windows wouldn't close I was just passing on a walk and I told them to take the battery clamp off for 10minutes,when I came back an hour later the windows were shut Sometimes basic stuff can be a great help to remember Then this week a customer decided to change his battery but connected it the wrong was round, nothing worked but the starter and the engine ran, that was an interesting one to suss out
  6. Scrap the car and run for the hills How did you manage to get it unclamped if not In your name and not on the mid on your trade policy And why would an untaxed car be on the road So many questions and so little time
  7. Stock just gets worse and worse, used to be tyres and pads, now even interiors are deeply dirty, old scratches have been left to fester, glass with scratches so deep from worn blades they must be deaf, clutches never adjusted, wheels out of this world, I suppose the best one is where there's something wrong mechanically that you just wonder how the hell they drove the thing
  8. Finding stock is the problem, selling it is easy
  9. It's not going to go away unless they crash it so buy the thing back and get a proper diagnostic done, the light only comes on for a reason so there will be data held to guide you unless it's got an aftermarket stereo fitted and this is affecting the can bus
  10. I totally agree with this but the caveat as always Is Do I need them more than they need me I was undersold a car from an auction many years ago, their mistake so I refused to pay the extra, I couldn't return because it had been totally got ready for retail I literally had to ban myself as I knew they would have got their money when I bought my next car and went to the counter Place went downhill after I stopped going and I moved on but I did like the place and they did look after me So there's no winners really, pity bca are so Intransigent though
  11. Is it a blip? Sorry been away
  12. You do a chart for each and every bail out Then work out the least grief option Then keep to this plan And learn Then do the same again tomorrow
  13. If the battery is flat flat be very wary ie do not jump start it but put a fully charged proper battery on it before you do anything or you might well cause modules to go corrupted Basically unless you are nicking it I can't imagine buyers are queuing up behind you First question why was it parked up? death in family or unable to afford the running costs etc
  14. Bigger picture this anarchy never gets sorted properly in the courts because of woke judicials

    DVLA

Up till this week I would have praised dvla for the promptness of everything this last twelve months but for the last 5 days I've attempted to web chat where a log book is and every day it shut me down saying too busy, I'm finally in a queue now Update Never received by dvla so reapplying now Doh......
  16. Good, nice to see things like this get a happy result I use the app Total car check It's really quick and accurate and free, have a look everything's on it once they have an email address
  17. One word Homework Remember all buyers and sellers are liers
  18. Can anyone tell me what a customer looks like please
  19. I like the bit where its suggested a certain person did ok Haven't had time to read it all yet but thanks for the link
  20. As its been stood 2 years I would suggest a full strip down and rebuild followed by a complete bleed of the system, you will then find if its a proper pedal or a master cylinder/abs issue,.
  21. Well I've looked at the holesale and have to ask in my best Alfie voice What have they got then that manheim havent, and it seems they are younger than manheim So whats it all about............ Enter cilla black and the dog.... 1966
  22. Are you saying that a car has been registered to your friend unbeknown to him? If the answer is yes then the police need to be informed, this happens a lot where expensive cars are registered to known name and address in an affluent area so they can be insured reasonably and without causing a red flag so there's no ping on police anpr, usually by drug dealers and or gansters
  23. 24,000 mile aygo 68 plate, we serviced it today and although we always do a complete brake strip down on each and every vehicle this was going to have discs and pads anyway as they looked rough once we looked underneath, haven't seen a missing pad in over 30 years, absolutely frightening and this govt want extended mot, s, how many cars do you do an mot check on before purchase and they have advisories year after year for pads then discs and pads then a gap and pads etc etc, not to mention there's a pair of skids on the front classed as low
  24. Make sure the site you pick can be found via Google maps and satnav Remember walk ons are basically much lower these days and I find are usually older generation who aren't tech savvy You need to check that you can put 10 cars where you want them and not have objections and parking problems, if using an industrial type site be sure to do your homework in relation to other tenants parking noise rubbish and the lease might include full repair, and on leaving a full repaint, so it might be worth considering going Ltd just in case it all goes pear June is always quiet So is july So is august Best to just stay in lanzerote these 3 months and have another beer
  25. my Internet has got worse since it went up in price last month I'm sure we are being played somewhere
