  1. But surely they'd achieve better prices through BCA? Or at least at the moment they would.
  2. .... and then hope/expect decent honest business people to get them out of trouble?
  3. I'm not a DA person, but just out of interest, once you're a member can you buy and sell or are there additional requirements to be able to sell?
  4. Same as Manheim 'surecheck', it's a product aimed at giving private buyers confidence, not trade
  5. My method is to push progressively harder with a screwdriver until the plate cracks and then remove the broken pieces. Hammer screws into bumper! Never fails.
  6. Interesting because I'd lose sleep paying the rent on that site. You can't sell empty spaces, someone a lot clever than me must have done the maths I suppose?
  7. I drive passed the Chingford branch on my way to BCA Enfield. They are looking 'super' low on stock these days?
  8. We've mentioned DA too many times. Expect a 'bot/stooge' to appear extolling the virtues of a DA purchase very soon!
  9. I can't see the big auction houses continuing physical auctions for much longer. It's much easier for them to leave us at home bidding, and just pay at checkout including delivery. For the auction they no longer have to feed us, provide parking, accept cash, employ so many staff, and gain valuable storage space with re-purposing customer car parks. Even the auctioneer is on dodgy ground if they use the 'Copart' auction machine as cars no longer have to actually move through the auction block?
  10. Lots of auction sites grab customer parking to store stock when required. It's the 'thin end of the wedge' to discouraging you from attending in person?
  11. I've got one stuck in limp mode and no code showing?
  12. ^ ^ ^ This! Out of curiosity, what cars you'll be shipping?
  13. Sounds easy doesn't it. Buy a car from auction and save piles of cash! Who needs greedy car dealers?
  14. This topic has been mentioned before. If only the auction houses had given us accurate grading and honest descriptions in the first place the take up of online bidding would have so much better. When the big auction houses grade the cars accurately and 'declare' everything good and bad we can then all sit at home bidding with confidence. And, for example as I've mentioned before, Japan has a system where the vehicles are honestly and accurately described and you bid confidently on that basis Grade 1 means grade 1. BCA/Manheim take note!
  15. I thought If I could get one on Ebay for a fiver I'd be the cat that got the cream? How wrong was I!
  16. I should have 'guilt tripped' them into it!
  17. So, I had a couple here today looking at a Focus Mk2. The old boy sat in the passenger seat and used the grab handle to hoist himself out and it snapped off. He said "it shouldn't have done that" I said "You're not meant to swing on it like a monkey?". But, I was actually surprised? Grab handles used to be pretty sturdy as I remember?
  18. Just thought I'd drag this thread kicking and screaming into 2019! I need a compact 'fancy' modern little jump pack to pop in my 'man bag' when I'm picking something up. I thought I'd ask if anyone's seen a bargain or a lemon?
  19. Another worthless 'add on' that they are not accountable for and we cannot sell on? Bit like surecheck? I do think that the days of the physical auction are numbered. The big auction houses would much prefer you didn't attend. They wont have to concern themselves with providing 'facilities', and all that parking space can be turned over to storage? No cash issues, everyone has to be registered with an account. You can just sit at home clicking buy? It's so easy?
  20. They're the ones that repair the car as well as turn off the light?
