  1. Another loser in the chain - last one on the chain usually loses out unless the culprit is caught
  2. Am sure we're missing 2 regulars... Arthur Daley and that foreign chap who had lots of money and bought a car lot from some old boy who was hospitalised (i can't remember his name)
  3. Probably thinking i jacked it? Am sure on the v62 there is a section about current or previous owners address. I think i left that blank or put in "purchased at bca - repo car" If they write to previous owner and it was repossessed he might take the Mickey and say he didnt sell it etc
  4. How so? In fact i couldn't even do pay monthly at post office as dvla put a marker on it to refuse... I.didn't get 6months or 12 months tax at the time dont like the delayed refund service so i thought pay monthly is better
  5. The more info available at different sources the better chance for enforcement action
  6. Yes but customer could have the same issue as me...all hell breaks loose then as they may accuse you of selling a dodgy motor? That could take 3 months then
  7. I was told by BCA it's a repossed car - i might be wrong about this but this can make it even worse
  8. They are robotic on the phone and say it is the situation it is and keep repeating it. Funny thing is i even gave them my email address on v62 yet they resort to postal letters.... They collect data only to sell it on like other companies. Otherwise you would email! It will open a can of worms for me as i cannot provide the address....
  9. Picked up a motor without a v5 from BCA. Like it as a runner so thought i would register it in my name. Rang up DVLA and they said they sent a letter out last week asking for address etc of previous owner. This is 5 weeks after the v62 was made. Still waiting on the letter. Am wondering how long will this all take and will they go back to BCA now asking for details as all I can supply is a bca invoice. Has anyone else had such an issue where you didn't apply for a v62 in your name but made your buyer do it in his name - potentially causing a long delay?
  10. You answered it yourself... Trade plates
  11. I was thinking it was someone on here that sold a pink 500 after donkey years to a milf
  12. NIP for speeding - details will be off the MID rather than DVLA. NIP for a parking ticket that has escalated will usually bounce as the car will show as in trade - so no owner / registered keeper.
  13. Only way to guarantee a review.... If it's bad then you dont upload it... If it's good of course you do. Have considered a pda touchpad system - with admin overrule of course where you can omit bad reviews Always wondered how much they make. You must need some mega views/ followers to earn something? Was watching a documentary on McDonald's vs Burger King and they had food vloggers who would eat from McDonald's and Burger King and then give their review on the food. Seriously who would watch a food vlogger? Especially on a £3 burger? Its easier to just buy one and try for yourself
  14. Fill out a review slip by hand at handover. Then type this up online yourself. Less chances of getting 2 / 10 when they're in front of you haha Voila!
  15. Am sure you can ask any finance company that you dont want any commission and they will happily oblige as its more money for them. But do all finance companies charge %apr? I believe some dont as they want more deals on board and hope people will fall behind on payments and thats where they will start charging them / recovery action etc From a religious point of view is it still acceptable to be an intermediary for the company and buyer? Ie have any involvement at all?
  16. Days like this i just walk out and get in car and go home. Otherwise i get a headache from the auctioneer on full volume plus cold air and shivering legs
  17. Well said mate. The tv bailiff shows do show a lot of car dealers...and cars do get clamped or removed... You might end up losing a few more cars to get the £3k plus additional costs
  18. Picked up a 2009 80k corsa sold within a day 3 days later bidded online and bought a 2010 Corsa with 50k and it over heated and engine died on motorway on the way back from BCA Auctioned it off and took a loss of £500 Why do they still make cars with no temperature needles? If you know its over heating you can pull over
  19. Dont give us exact figures round it ie just shy of £3k Was it for the repairs or compensation for plaintiff not having access to the car and travel costs? And do they have to return the item?
  20. This is exactly why we prefer cash People think cash = dodgy business or money laundering or tax evasion 20 years ago only very few people had cards. Cheques were a long process and cash was acceptable But nowadays it's a crime to use cash? More crime that can be committed with electronic payment methods You could just walk around town with a sumup card reader connected to your phone and do £30 contactless payments by touching your reader to someones back pocket or handbag Someone can easily clone a card and walk into any of your premises insert it enter the pin and walk off... Not like you ask to see their card and run it under a bank's card checking machine...
  21. I received an invoice from Aston Barclay for a £3k motor Whilst I have signed up for an online account I have never logged in let alone have a membership card with them and let alone bidding for a motor! I get the weekly and daily emails. I sent them a message saying this and they accepted it. I was so waiting for them to come back and say you bidded in it! Online system can be abused by the auctioneer too ie dump a banger on someone else and insist they bidded on it!
  22. But accidents do happen. They happen in every other aspect of life and IT. Lets say you was away from your pc and the screen locked you press ctrl alt delete and log in and you're on the bid screen and mouse is on a green button and you click it. We cant live in perfect world and step ever so carefully Because its BCA. Accidents do happen Its ok.for auctioneers to bounce bids all day but one genuine mistake is discounted. There should be a cut off point ie like when op rang up immediately so this chucks your "car didnt turn out to be as expected" out of the window. Like i said it's pointless paying people to ring up and confirm bids then.... If they got people with free time doing this then if people back out or its accidental offer it to the under bidder.
  23. No... Ring up Newcastle theyre more friendly they will put you on a gold for 3 months trial...
  24. Yes they can re enter it... But if it makes less than what the hammer went for you.... Then you'll cough up difference... You got it for £7k Next weeks auction it goes £5700 then you're paying £1300 !
