  1. Have a look at my topic i just posted some recommend brokers my lad has used and after running around the sams broker and under writer knocked off 600 quid. Shop around, that's all I can say.
  2. 29, 7 vehicles upto £10k max value of one vehicle. No performance cover but standard 3 litre vehicles are covered Think Insurance Autonet Clegg Gifford Bollington Nash Warren BIS Premier insurance brokers Aston lark / scott As I said, if one company quotes you 2100 tell the next one it's 1935 that's how they will offer you less than 1900...carry on doing it... Play them like they play us. Like met says.... We're not driving let alone selling or buying. I bloody bought a bike... Only driving i do is to the boring supermarket! The jobsworth my lad spoke to said giving you mid access takes up to 4 weeks... We wait until first months direct debit comes out... Must be bloody joking!! Anyone looking to renew their insurance really needs to breathe down the neck of the rep constantly stating like a parrot (like they do to us) "the lock down will go on for 6 months and we cannot buy or sell (that's half term / life of the policy). The only driving we can do is to the supermarket. We're already paying rent and other costs and we may go under due to costs and no income" I believe the longer the lock down is the more the insurance will drop. Or it's a matter of time before media pick this up and insurers will be looked at very negatively. Do keep us posted guys on how well / bad you do.
  3. Another year with zenith. From 1900 to 1330. What a joke!
  4. Hi folks following my recent topic about my son's renewal he managed to get a premium for £1330! The original renewal was £1900. He got another quote for 1600 and then finally 1400. Went back to his broker and 1330! Truth of the matter is, at renewals, guys get some quotes and then blag you got it even less. Your current broker will get it even lower. Play them at their game... Don't be a fool and stick to the renewal quote. Spend 2 days - it's boring I know but well worth it! They will say "this is the final price / best we can do" but they're lying and milking a fat premium off you.
  5. Well what about car payments or mortgages? You might get holidays but you still have to pay at the end... So why do landlords always get shat on? Some landlords do rely on the rent as their bread and butter. Residential tenants are milking this... Bought toilet paper and claim they cannot afford the rent
  6. I don't think it's bleak looking out for ones own health. It's actually bleak to not look out for your health and chasing pennies and pounds without actually enjoying any of the money. Recently, guidance from the hospitals says ventilators and focus should be more focused on those that have a higher chance of survival compared to those that dont. So good luck to those working hard to enjoy life at 'retirement'. Once you get to that age and you're no longer the focus because a 20 year old has more chance of survival. So you lost out both ways.
  7. I thought some come in a box and you have to assemble them yourself? I remember assembling one as a child and want to redo it
  8. I have been jogging but think I might buy a bike now. Haven't cycled in decades but you don't forget do you... My biggest concern is being knocked off by an idiot. Anyone else doing some fancy exercising?
  9. Am hiding at home. Go shopping in the last 20 mins of supermarket closing. So less people. Mask and gloves and face shield. Some do laugh but i rather not end in hospital. Also don't use basket or trolley. I put items in carrier bag and then empty it at the till.
  10. But what about picking up? The pickup locations will be busy. Lots of pics on news sites of charity hubs. Lots of people in close proximity without any PPE sorting out food and essentials in charity hubs. I also strongly believe droplets are live on surfaces. Some scientists believe droplets could be standing in air a lot longer considering the fact a lot of people have been infected so quickly across the globe. They dont think its just from coughing or sneezing... That's a lot of coughs and sneezes.
  11. Worse case if you get wiped off the planet... With this virus! Being ill or having a long term illness is a thing of the past mate. Cancer was lethal, or so we all thought, in the 1990s. But this covid can wipe you out within 48hrs or less for some people. In another 30 years there will be something else that will kill people in hours... Yet everyone was scared of a nuclear war with Iran or North Korea. Again, nuclear war is a thing of the past. I always said this. Pointless making millions if you're working all hours to rack up your bank balance and then drop... Next of kin will be laughing to the bank without a day's work!
  12. PS i think it's good they're asking people to volunteer and help but at the same time it's very counterproductive because these volunteers will be contracting and spreading the virus.
  13. I read a funny quote somewhere that went like this "1920 - young men were asked to donate their lives and fight the war. Which they did" "2020 - men, women and children are asked to stay home, do fuck all and be paid 80% of their salary. Yet they can't even do that. Absolute useless" 80% to do sod all is brilliant. You're saving on your travel costs. Ration your food and you lose weight and save more money. And you cant go out to shops and waste money on things you dont need to buy I wish I was born 100 or 200 years ago sometimes
  14. You picked a very specific point. I ask this often. Because all biscuit packets are red or there's too much variety and i get Brain freeze
  15. Landlords always get shat on. You will still pay your insurance. You will still pay mortgages. And the ugly things like council tax and road tax. People are so dumb they think that a mortgage holiday means no mortgage repayments for 3 or whatever months. But that amount will be added onto the end of your mortgage. I tell you what though, come to the end of mortgages some people may forget they took a mortgage holiday. Or others that dont take it, some companies might say 15 years ago you took a holiday at the covid19 issue to fleece money.
  16. I always believed the health is wealth motto. You can have health but no wealth.
  17. Sorry i didnt know. I was AWOL from the forums for some time.
  18. Everyone should remember that it can just be the one rep that can be a jobsworth and ruin things. Think of it as going into asda and asking where the beans are kept and one snob says i dont know or we're sold out. Whereas another happy chappy will happily go in the back and get you some.
  19. Thank you sir. No, no. It's not worth the risk of telling little brats to get off the streets and go home. If people followed the basic rules our number of infected would be much lower. 80-100 years ago young men were asked to come forward and risk their lives and fight for their country. Which they obliged to. Today young men (women and even old men) are asked to sit at home. Which they failed to do.
  20. Cheers mate. And you. It's hard when you're locked inside. Having a longer sentence as i was already at home lol It can be difficult sitting at home but at least we got some luxuries at home compared to those at Her Majesty's Pleasure
  21. That's nice of you mate. Thank you. How have you been?
  22. I take it you used different brokers? They gave him ageas again this year. He used autonet previously.
  23. Thank you mate. Yes it's unpredictable but I think i will wind down. I think some people have proven they're silly but a lot have learned that anything can happen at any point. Ah its mad they're asking retired people to return particularly nhs! It puts them in the vulnerable group and puts them at great risk. I have been hiding indoors in this biological war... Where there are invisible bullets flying around.
  24. Yes they charge you if you wish to ring them up to update mid. Free of course if you do it yourself via online access
