  1. What gets me is this: Hammer Price + Buyers Fee + Online Bidding Fee + BCA Assured Fee + Transport = Landed Cost
  2. There is no way I would pay anyone to do the part of the job I enjoy the most and probably the bit I do best.
  3. Exactly my argument. I always say, what is the first thing you do when you acquire your new car? Answer is usually, ensure servicing is all up to date, replace worn tyres with branded stuff, get it Valeted and continue to polish it every weekend for 3 months (until the novelty wears off). Exactly what the other 7 owners have probably done, whereas the 1 owner got bored after the first service and gave up maintenance. That said, I still prefer to say 1 or 2 owners sir.
  4. The trick is to sell at a sensible margin and use your skills and prep to sell above market value. My cars are nearly always above market value but the prep, set up and after sales support (added value), justifies this and most people buy. Having said that, I avoid jelly mould cars so there is less competition and this tactic wouldn’t work on a 10 plate, silver Corsa 1.2 with 50k because there are 1000’s of others available much cheaper - I don’t swim in those waters.
  5. Similar for me - I got dropped off at BCA Tewkesbury (remember that?) armed with a list of a dozen or so potential purchases = lift back. Nothing bought with only 5 cars left to go of which 3 or 4 were immediately pulled off sale, leaving a Saab 9000. It was this or a long cold train, so I took it at £900 + fees. Air bag light was on (when those sort of things could spell disaster). Upon checking, it was a Griffith Turbo (sought after apparently) and made £3,500 on eBay with enquiries coming out of my ears.
  6. Even Online, I like to sense the buzz around a particular car - i.e. let others be your gauge as to how good the car really is. No one bidding or very slow, it is probably in a poor state, either mechanically or cosmetically, so no proxy bids here (unless I have been to see the car beforehand).
  7. Wow, who needs to spread £30 over a year - oh yes, most of my customer's
  8. I don't think you can DD £30 RFL, it's one off only.
  9. It is more the principal but my thoughts are the same as yours AD, it's not like it's a £550 Range RFL. Customer is paying for the tax anyway, was just hoping to save £30 but probably not worth the risk as you say. Thanks chaps
  10. I taxed a car to use last month using the new keeper supplement (only a £30 er) but I have just sold the car and it is being collected tonight. Do I need to tax it again, or will that tax carry over to the new owner (as I didn't change the V5 keeper details last time). I can't see it being any different to when we "hold back" sending a V5 off for a few weeks in case of rejection. TIA
  11. Everything done in Excel here - with a logo
  12. That must be what the rep meant then, I thought she meant the commission not just the metal.
  13. Cheers David I am excited for some extra ££££'s Incidentally, Close told me they pay out the same day, directly into your account?
  14. It's my fault. I obtained my FCA licence a couple of weeks back and Close has provided access to Showroom, so I'm all set to.................get declined by the sounds of it.
  15. I'm such a bore, I reckon I could recite each of the 12 episodes word for word - my favourite ever. I have the box set, the audio books, recorded on the Humax
  16. Still can't decide on the best episode: Communication Problems, The Hotel Inspectors or Basil the Rat
  17. Que? Ce, What? Ce Que What - is he the manager?
  18. You can stock some here Lucas and we can share the glory
  19. Every time I hear Plaintiff - I think Judge Judy
  20. I just googled the error message and one of the first relevant pages was the DS3 forum - it was on there.
  21. I don't mind replenishing the additive and/or replacing the DPF if that is what's required. Just a lack of information and a lot of amateur information online, one even saying it's simple you just change the air filter.
  22. Thanks Stalker - I will take a look.
