  1. I tend to agree with you unfortunately. The best we can hope for is that we can "convince" a customer they don't have a case by at least understanding the CRA. But....I'm with you, if they pursue it rightly or wrongly, they will more than likely win.
  2. Citroen DS3 finally sold yesterday. After driving for a while (I smoked it for a week whilst waiting for Disco to be offically re-imported). Says something along the lines of "risk of particulate filter blocking" and service light. I think these PSA engines have an additive tank underneath as well as the DPF itself but despite a thorough look on Google, there is nothing decisive and even (apparently) main dealers, Citroen struggle with a fix (one suggesting, new tank, new fluid, new DPF and possibly a new ECU). Now obviously this is bollocks. I have had this car since May, so to say I am happy that it has finally gone is an understatement but just looking for some pointers please. My reader does not read DS3 for a forced regen (does every other Citroen model and I tried C3 usuing same engine but will not communicate). Customer wants the car ASAP (don't they always) - I have said give me until Tuesday, TIA
  3. I have a timelapse of me doing the garden this year but as I am fat and am not wearing a t shirt, I shall spare you the pain. PS: Now that Tradex has resigned, sorry I mean retired...am I now officially the fattest "active" trader?
  4. I have a big problem with charities in general. How many of them have highly paid execs (I know because I had headhunters asking me to attend interviews when I quit my job). Charity should mean charity, perhaps run by ex chairman and execs who have had a tidy living and want to give something back. When I was 18, I agreed to put one of those charity sweet boxes on the counter of the shop I worked in. I got friendly with the charity manager and went to his £1m house the charity were renting for the staff - that changed my opinion. I am not going to get into the ins and outs but I am part of an organisation many frown upon without knowing all the facts - the point is the only charitable donations larger than ours are the National Lottery ones. What do we get paid...........nothing, we all make donations ourselves.
  5. One of my ambitions was to have a lawn worthy of a ride on mower and I now love cutting the grass. Of course, I had to buy all the tow behind attachments
  6. Thank you Area 51 I was just about to update that I have the car booked in to BMTech in Manchester, as I wanted to pacify the customer quickly but thank you for your response mate. You could add them to the forums recommended garage list in private room
  7. I always say (if asked), no history does not mean it has never been serviced and a car is only as good as its last service anyway. As we don't have any evidence of the servicing, we are performing a full service in order to ensure the car is fully up to date along with a brand new MOT.
  8. I've had a few nicer cars (now capital tied in stock). Favourite was a new XKR 5.0 Supercharged - If I had kept that car, I probably would not be here now, it was an animal. There is a video on YouTube of it's finally drive (thrash) before I traded it in. I saw it for sale 3 years ago for only £500 less than I traded it 2 years before that, despite having an extra 20k on the clocks. I miss that car, it is rare I get attached but I miss that beast. Apparently, they call it a growler (put me off a bit)

  12. T2 Garages Dealt with Helen but I think it is Kev swinging the spanners around Can't recommend them enough (or spell recommend) Had a call from the customer today and my heart sank..... Just wanting to thank me for sorting his now perfect car out
  13. Haven't seen a Jam Jar advert for a long time. I too have sold and bought many cars unseen - it is the exception though, not the rule IMO
  14. Is the warranty transferable to the new owner?
  15. I really thought your pink Fiat 500 would feature somewhere here
  16. Bannatyne doesn't say that, he says I'm ooot
  17. I looked at some photographs the other day on my IPad from before I took the unit on. To be fair, I can’t believe what I got away with and how nobody complained. I had 9 on the drive, 2 in the garage + my van and the wife’s car at the end of the cul de sac. There were no signs in windows and no work was done here but it did look busy. My neighbours were (still are great) - in fact the only comment I have had is “where have all the cars gone, we miss your goings on.”
