  1. Bloody OCD - I am stuck with it. I can't stand mess, dirty floors, plugs left on with nothing plugged in, filing not done, keys not tagged and that's before we even start on checking the fucking tap and lights are off.
  2. People whom ask questions. (i.e. do you do finance, are you interested in my PX, can I come and view) then never reply. People when questioned why they are selling their car they have only had a couple of months coming up with some bullshit about it being too big, or changed jobs or whatever - whereas they should tell me what I already know - because it's fooked and you're a trader that will take my problem away. Bills - plenty of them that keep on coming through even when we are quiet. Warranty claims - screaming customer then don't collect/drop off their car for weeks after their initial rant.
  3. I think Grant is just proud of what he has achieved, fair play to him. I think I would keep my success under wraps for a while because things can change overnight and egg on yer face isn't my thing - I have had a nice run but I may as well shut shop at the moment. at least the screamers couldn't get in.
  4. We (I say we because it affects both the Mrs and me), are debating taking more debt or selling one of our properties (same tenant 4 years and more than washes its face). I see no issue taking debt to fund growth, I see an issue taking debt to fund lifestyle - I have been guilty of both.
  5. Because you can earn 3x the finance comms, 3x warranty upgrades, 3x th3 PX - not my model but clearly the car supermarket model. There is a sweet spot between EPV’s optimism and TV’s pessimism - find that and write a book. I will have th3 first copy.....please
  6. Could not agree more Simon - I find some sites too complex to navigate and I’m not too bad with computers - my dad on the other hand.......
  7. I hate all Vauxhall shit, slightly more acceptant of Ford but I do like German stuff and I too sell a few and accept the risks. I don’t hang on to anything German for long. French, Brit, Korean on the other hand - Hallmark Cards do better out of them than me.
  8. You’re quite unique Nick - I think you probably put more effort in than most and probably always have done. I also think that P/T 6 per month is an achievement. I don’t know the margins and I guess when you have a guaranteed income it is less relevant. Anyone can sell many many more numbers (I know I could) but it is margin that matters (unless you’re a manufacturer). Personally, I am greedy with margin but I stand by my cars, whatever happens and I like to pick my customers.
  9. Generally including warranty; I believe the service history does not need to have been performed by a main dealer, jusy serviced by a bonefide workshop to manufacturers giuidelines.
  10. Similar - Mon - Fri open 8.30 to 17.30 Weekends only by appointment
  11. Not as brave as this https://www.villagecarsessex.co.uk/single-car.php?ID=262
  12. Don't kid yourself that a pitch will automatically achieve massively more sales, that's my only advice because if P/T you're selling 6 pcm you're doing very well.
  13. I wondered what the original Top Gear team were doing nowadays.
  14. Really? I’m having it off at the moment with small cars - I have sold one this year Edit: re read this and not sure my sarcasm comes through. I’m full of small shit and the world has ended ever since.
  15. Finance price hangers + finance example in the silent salesman
  16. I have sold and continue to sell the odd Mini. They tend to hang around too long (probably because there’s another hundred within a few miles for sale), but they do always sell. I prep well and many enjoy a clutch during prep but regards to warranty, I’ve only forked out for 1 wheel bearing. Currently got three in stock.
  17. After each valet, regardless how wet - dehumidifier goes in for 24 hours. Cars are inside which is a great benefit.
  18. I wouldn't be rolling over on this - 9 month delay...and your reason for the delay Sir?
  19. I would still go for the unit mate. My ONLY regret about the unit is the distance from home (about 35 mins e/w). Not a problem Mon-Fri because I base myself here but at weekends, I struggle to agree to meet people who want to come and look unless they are ready to buy (weekends are by confirmed appointment, not quite AD style but they need to be ready to deal for me to waste half a day).
  20. See, on any BM's I have had with a battery voltage issue due to being stood, it puts an amber battery symbol up. I am sure the ramp is just a service indicator, either due or overdue. I am happy to be corrected of course as I may be confusing my cars. If the symbol turns red then it requires immediate attention.
  21. Easy to swallow though, the original credit card sized sims used to get stuck
  22. Sorry Nick, I meant you may know someone
