  1. 8 either dippered or paid n gone - 1 full week to go.
  2. Did the last one resign when you told him he's not having the Snap On
  3. I could sell that car a dozen times, had a few messers and an offer of £8k within 24 hours. Still got full asking and on finance, so happy boy. It was sale number 5 this week. That is how shit EBMP is Brilliant..... At least there can't be kids in the back Seems a nice chap and will be here Monday - cost £296 + VAT landed. Off the sparky next week then. Thanks for your help.
  4. Thank you both This is the car Dave https://www.imperial-marques.co.uk/cars/mercedes/slk/slk200kompressorauto/236608/ I will be sending it to my auto electrician, he is great. Wouldn't trust the workshop folk though. I saw that one Dave, nice fitment but the delivery date fucks things up (alot). UPDATE: Spoken to them and they have the model up unit in for next working day delivery - thanks all.
  5. Hi Guys Need a bit of guidance please. Dipper taken on SLK yesterday. Stereo, head unit, media (whatever one prefers) does not work (customer aware). Promised to fit an Android compatible unit which would have more bells and whistles that the basic OEM unit. The dash is slightly curved, so a generic aftermarket unit won't do. I did a quick search whilst he was contempleting the purhcase (and before I promised anything). Anyway, turns out the one I quickly seached for about £200 will bluetooth/DVD/Nav etc is actually for a CLK (not the SLK I searched for). Now I am struggling to find one for a reasonable price and the customer (unaware) has gone off happy, knowing he is in fact having an upgrade over OEM, albeit he knows it will likely be Chinese. Anyone suggest anything, experience etc. Like I say, I do want the correct fitment with the "Merc look" buttons to the left and right, akin to the original unit. Thanks in advance or as Dave would say TIA
  6. Sorry Mark, you're wrong. I have had O licences and been throught the hassle of applying, and appealing. Like everything in life, everything is fine until it isn't. You have a bump in that truck and believe me they will scrutinise you to the point of imprisonment if anything falls short of perfect in the event of a fatality. Don't ask me how I know (not me but one of my best mates) - forensics had his car for weeks and examined every inch and analysed the ECU to determine his general driving behaviour. Cost £250k to defend (covered by his insurance). Get the licence, make sure drivers have their drivers CPC and you have a transport manager or designated third party. There is a reason why you are one of the very few who run anything over 3.5t (which are next to useless if staying legal).
  7. I don't know why I don't do it - I suppose it is because I am impatient and selling/renting property is a long game. I have moved 28 times and always made some money (and spent it) on each move. Never planning to move, I buy a house, get it to my standard and cannot resist a re-valuation, then I see £££'s and can't resist selling.
  8. Rental income and they still own the freehold/asset - good stuff
  9. You’re with CD5 as well Simon, so. I moved to their top package which has much better SEO 12 months < 1 month AT For £25 month, feeds all stock automatically to FB market place EMP £333 for 10 + 3 (better deal offered if signed for 12 months but this is a 3 Month trial) I have the remainder of my Shpock deal and obviously Gumtree (neither of which I want) and AT is still live until Saturday (the end of my 30 day period). Without doubt, lumpier, miley stock (flash for little cash) sells well on EBay - video integrates now, very good deal IMO. I hate the new portal, I hate being told, “It’s not a race to the bottom but you need to reduce prices and aim at £600 unit to be successful.” Most of all though (I have had a good few quiet months) and that £1,000 + VAT bill for 5+2 cars still keeps coming. And, I just know this latest HPI bollocks has more to it than they are saying. You’ll be forced into it or lose any dominance. I went on the premium package (hence the cost) and when I mentioned it to the rep, I had one of two choices - reduce prices (and was told my level of prep and warranty isn’t sustainable) or add even more bells and whistles (yes, more than the top package). Feels like finally getting away from a bad relationship - huge relief knowing the monster isn’t coming into my bank again. Caveat, if I do come back to AT it will be a basic 11+2 package only.
  10. I started my auction research at about 7am from my IPad, then drove to work, picking a customer up en route. Handed over the Kia Soul Test Drove and Sold Sprinter Back on Manheim Online Another viewing on Fiesta Went to Halrauds (twice) for more stereo parts Fitted stereo to Clio (sold) Photographed and Videoed/Uploaded Ford Focus On to BCA Online Sold C1 and apraised PX (cash back) Fuelled and tested PX Drove home Uploaded todays winnings Tallied Stock book etc Finished about 9pm Quiet day, just 14 hours. Then I cooked dinner as Mrs wasn't hungry (but she still ate it) Bottom line, do what you like doing and you'll never work again.
  11. That's what they told me when I shut my contract down - currently having my best month for 6 months already (2 today, 2 yesterday and enquiries coming out of my ears). You're too expensive - yes I am, reassuringly so.
  12. Nice intro Steve Sounds like a plan to me, the only points of concern generally speaking: Employing family/friends and sometimes starting with a nice pot can be misleading, i.e. you can get too complacent. Take the stock out, rent, insurance et al and you will be surprised how quickly you can be come asset rich cash poor (if that makes sense) - especially when you have a landlord and staff (albeit family) asking for there monthly payments. To answer your next question, around 4-6 weeks for FCA approval and finally, I would say it has taken me one full year to consider myself a proper motor trader (as in started at home, incorporated, built relationships, moved to a unit, increased stock levels, got FCA). In other words, 12 months on and I have all the infrastructure in place to handle "most" situations. I am still learning every single day and loving it (over all). Good luck and go for it (we are a very similar age but you're older by 12 months )
  13. I sold mine because it just takes too long out of the business. BCA charge me £60 from their local sites, Manheim £65 (single units, less if multiple). No queuing at the key office, no dirty ratchet straps, no missing calls etc. There has been a couple of occasions when I could do with one but there is always a work around.
  14. My valeter swears by Tardis - I just couldn't resist after you said, make sure to wash it all off. Good stuff - I am old skool, so petrol for me too.
  15. My workshop has just procured the top Autel wireless machine and I have the small handheld version. They are making traction - remember how cheap Teng Tools were 15-20 years ago and now look...............
  16. You've opened a can of worms now Umesh - come on Dave 1234567891011121314151617181920 - let him have it
  17. UPDATE: ON KIA SOUL IT IS NOW A KIA SOULED Thanks David
  18. Funny things new engines and peoples interpretation of a new engine: New short engine, new head, complete - what about ancilliaries? I don't see much added value as the rest of the car and its running gear is 78K. Also, people worry that it must be a weak engine and consider they might end up needing a replacement themselves. I would rather a straight 78k mile car with original engine and FSH personally speaking.
  19. I once bought a battery booster or OBD reader because of the high reviews because I know nothing about what to look for. I remain pleased with the product but upon unpacking, a card fell out saying FREE battery tester for every 5* review left. I put the card in the bin forfeiting my FREE goods.
  20. 2 spoons of salt isn't it
  21. I had a call off someone who just said - I would like to come and test drive your Audi TTS. I said we only do test drives after we have agreed a sale and a deposit paid. He said that’s fine, can I have my deposit back after the test drive. I said no (I could tell he was a young test pilot on a jolly). So glad I have learned to suss people after having my fair share of messers.
  22. Exactly what I told him - oh, and he said there was no financial interest in the car - HPI said different. He knows all about the overheating issue and I made a point of telling him, I wouldn't even give him £5k.
