2007 Jaguar XK Cab Roof Help Needed (please!)
Mark101 replied to JimmyGlen's topic in General Dealer Chat
Stevie They are currently making a fotune at the block, even with a u/s roof. Summer is coming and someone in the know will buy that banking on a cheap fix. -
Of course, no problem - do prompt me if I forget.

It's a combination of things Tony - last 3 months have been slow and AT's response is always to increase my package to maximise exposure hence me paying £1000 + VAT for 7 cars. I don't like the markers because they don't take in to account the amount of prep/low owners/service history etc over the park and mark brigade. And advertising less than half my stock is not sustainable - then the new portal = game over. Ebay, I advertise everything and sold a car on day 1 (V50 on Finance at Full Asking) and have had a nice level of enquiries vs. AT for £333 for 13 cars. FB is £25 month for autofeed unlimited cars and had 3 enquiries so far (one wanted to view at the weekend but I was away). The maths just do not add up. I suggested to AT rep that I reduce my premium package to a lesser level but increase stock - their answer, it won't work unless I reduce the prices of all my stock (race to the bottom IMO) or add pay per click to each vehicle to enable featured. So ultimately, they recommnded Advance package, 10 cars (+ 3 of those 10) on PPClick = £1300 + VAT. So still be £130+ VAT per car per month vs. £26 + VAT on Ebay. Time to give other platforms an opportunity.

I've served notice (was going to any way but that was the icing on the cake). Package runs for 30 days and Ebay is completely dominating leads, so hopefully the right decision.

Ironically, the more you sell - the more fires you’ll be fighting.
-
You’ll need to make an appointment and pay a deposit . Sorry AD

I commend you for having a go and coming here with some tangible information. I am sure as a Fire Fighter (can’t say fireman anymore), you’ll have dealt with much, much worse situations that the routine shit we experience. Remember, don’t be a busy fool and make sure you have enough margin in a deal to manage warranty claims as well as proper recon/prep. Is it you plan to switch (or I guess you’re not far off retirement age (sore subject I bet) for FF)) to motor trade full time? If so, this is your chance to learn while you earn - easier with a safety net.

Avoid BMW ES models, SE is ok but really you want the M Sport models. Re: margins, remember prep will soon eat into that and eventually when you become VAT registered. So your example in OP only really works because you prepped it yourself and got away with a tidy up. New MOT - advisory free, valet, service and repairs + VAT doesn’t leave a lot, so keep this in mind and take advantage of no VAT whilst you can, not by reducing margins but my maintaining them and enjoying the additional money.

Nice intro John. I am a 1 series fan and have sold more of these than anything else during the past 12 months or so. Good sellers with the right spec/colour. Good luck mate. One bit of advice, you need to increase your margins, even on the lower value stuff.

I always tune Radio 2, mainly because I listen to that station anyway. Love the Jeremy Vine debates, it’s like high brow Jeremy Kyle.

I toyed with that but the trouble is unless you have around 40+ cars, I don’t think it is good value IMO albeit an excellent product. CD5 feeds all my adverts, so only one lot of listing for multiple platforms in any case, so no added value for me in that respect. Stockbook is a doddle to do in Excel and I pay my accountant £350 a quarter and literally drop off all my invoices and expenses, they sort the rest. If and when my Mrs joins the business, I would consider bringing much of this stuff back in house and I do like the idea of a full all in one place system, so thanks for the review Grant - maybe in the future.

Only caveat isn't the demand it is the warranty claims, diesel always attract more - what with DPF, Turbo, Injectors etc but you obviously know all that. Even for a clueless tech like me, a petrol lump is far easier to diagnose and fix but are generally more reliable in the first place.
-
Diesel is absolutely no problem for me - teachers et al worry about it but then again, they are trained to worry. The only affect for me regarding diesels is that some dealers now refuse to stock and I can usually pick up for sensible money. Petrol on the other hand has increased in my experience. If you're rural, it will be many years until that community ignore diesel, again IMO.

Sales Price - Hammer Price x (7/47) = VAT margin What do I win?
-
How did Z4 do MrC?
-
Never - and as the only driver I can confirm. I had Kumho tyres fitted
-
Seriously though, I had driven to work (about 70 miles), not used the car all day, drive home and suddenly started a wobble, like wheel balancing on steroids (sorry, I know you've just been to the gym). The whole tyre has deformed, look around the entire circumferance. Gone at 10, 11, 1, 2 and 4pm (as in clock face). No explanation from me, pothole? T'was OSF

Seriously, check with your rep: I was told £0.79 + VAT per check = unlimited discounted checks not totally free. That is my interpretation anyway.
-
I like it Nick, you need to add filters so. PDR man is coming - filter those that need PDR, same for valet, servicing etc. I have that and one almost the same that details every single expense against each car - focusses the mind. There are two columns I hate, one of wich I can't do anything about - VAT Margin & Warranty
-
You need to send me a pic email is fine. I have under each advert price - RESERVE ME FOR £100 Scroll down and there is one marked SOLD and one marked RESERVED - which is genuine but I am going to leave that format.
-
That's because you have already told us numerous times why you do that I have taken it on board.

Can you send instructions

Recommended battery charger for under £100
Mark101 replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
I just bought 2 off LIDL intelligent chargers - I am trying it on a completely done battery for curiosity but I am not back in until Monday to see the results. -
Just apply onlone JL, someone will call you. I pay £333 per month for 10+3 cars on the middle package. I know many pay less but I think they are long serving customers. If I was prepared to commit to 12 months, they said they would better their price but I am on 3 month trial at 6 month rate. Gumtree isn't for me but it is included, like it or not.
