Hi Dave It's neither of the above, it is a 3.2 but wasn't sure whether it shared some "bits" I'm in Worcester - car has gone off to auction in Telford NO RESERVE but can be pulled back. No need to PM - whatever I can get, just sick of looking at it but with summer coming, I am considering it a project?

I imagine a tyre shop would get through sets but only once so far have I had a locking wheel nut issue. I reckon I would use it once or twice a year and probably last me ages. No idea though as I don't have one myself.......yet.

Double edge sword this one: Good news re: vcar Bad news: you'll now see how long they stick around Good luck with it, prove me wrong.

Dave I have an 04 Merc CLK cab in black, MOT out, roof works. Steering sounds noisy, glovebox doesn't stay shut and front arm rest bust. Completely flat battery and even when charged C/L randomly opens/closes a few times. Done just 100k and actually drives lovely - big petrol job Interested?

I just (not me obviously but my appointed spanner swinger) had a BMW 1 back with front window down an inch - presumed switch, it was the motor. For speed picked one up from BMW main agent, about £120 (used from £15 Ebay) - job done.- 19 replies

If you didn't sell cars what would you be doing?

Do what you like doing and you'll never "work" again. -

I work flexi time - in other words, I work when I need to. Generally speaking Mon-Fri 8.00 - 5.30 and weekends by appointment but... Wednesday morning I went for a haircut and took an early dart for the karting in Bristol. Today I have declined a couple of appointments because I fancied a weekend off. Caveat, I will always attend viewings at the weekend if someone is ready to buy/collect but not just, I have 5 to look at, what time are you open until. -
My record (this time around) was a VW Passat £1900 nett (pre tax) + his swapper for another £700 within 24 hours. When I talk nett - for the record = Sales price less Hammer Tip Delivery Paint Prep Warranty Advertising Time spent on site (pro rata rent) Fuel Nett PRE TAX profit on unit

When I had the pitch, as a consequence I bought a car transporter and trailer. The pitch went very quiet, the ex's went through the roof with staff, servicing debt and two premises so, I spent most days ferrying cars up and down the country at £1 per mile round trip (not one way) per car and earned a great living. I recall thinking to myself, I wish I could unwind my pitch, staff and loan commitments and just do this because it was easy, no thinking, plenty or work and a great ROI - easy money. Sadly, it was too late as I was in too deep with the long term agreements, debts, staff et al. After a 12 year career as a (well paid) employee outside of motor trade, the trade never left me. I recall thinking about just buying one or two transporters and shifting cars around as before. In the meantime, Movex, Shiply and every council estate in the country now offer the service I did at a fraction of the cost, so I missed the boat. So here I am selling cars - no staff just a border collie for company and a very supportive better half. It's stressy but I still love it. -

Not if it is the same as the link Sorry, this content isn't available at the moment

And so can I - I mentioned it to James of CDM and he can't understand why this happens to some and not others, browser settings?

Just for balance, I netted a £561 loss last month on a CRV - I bet everyone believes that

Do what I did with my last boat - sell it and follow this motto. If it flies, floats or fucks - rent it. We now charter a yacht each year, costs a few £k but that’s it, no worrying about the annual maintenance, depreciation etc. One day though, I would make one my second home.
-
No Grant, home is always home and I’m in the Midlands, well Worcestershire - nice place, always been home but I crave the coast - boats are my hobby, bigger the better and preferably with rags hanging off sticks. Plan one day is to spend more time afloat but home will probably always be home.

Are you saying he has you licked?

I have OCD with accounts, paperwork, unit cleanliness et al but admit I am too soft when a third party lets me down. Painters are awesome but Valeter’s and workshop piss me right off very single day. My issue is I am too nice and rather than constantly nipping their heels, I just put up with it and then eventually bite their heads off and completely fracture a relationship. Calm before the storm - when I go, I can’t stop.
-
I’m somewhere between the two of you as in I like Grant’s approach but I recognise Nick’s future predictions. Where are you based Grant?

Easiest way to polish some profit into a car. Simple, quick and 99% of the time successful. Like new number plates, £12 a set with my co. name and they make a car shine.

I try and get any obvious cosmetic and mechanical (certainly safety related) issues sorted immediately. I am debating the MOT thing as I did an MX-5 ready for sale, sat around for a month so agreed a new MOT at the asking price (thought only £30) - guess what, broken spring - it does happen (or more likely missed during prior MOT). To be fair, if someone will not wait two days for a car, do I really want them as customers? Wonder how impatient they would be during a warranty claim. Only becomes an issue when selling to someone far away (remember my Punto seat thread?) Guy travelling 160 miles each way, twice as it needed an MOT - still bought it though.
-
What car Nick? I have had this of course. Merc to Main Dealer, £25 and 5 mins with car and I have a new appropriate key.
-
My only advice is to only post this in the private room - your Plaintiff could easily stumble across this via a Google search. Good luck.

It was "ok" no more no less. Good fun but went on far too long. Arrived at 6.40pm (20 mins early), aimless talking for an hour or more, no one knew what they were doing, no teams had been established and the real racing didn't start until gone 9pm and lasted 90 mins, plus prize giving plus a 2 hour drive home and despite the promise - no food only soft drinks. Better organisation and it would have been a lot lot better but like I say good fun but knackering. Surprisingly, no formal introduction or chat from anyone from CDM or Close. I sopke to James from CDM and my rep from Close. Didn't know anyone there. Home about 1am (caught up on forum events to wind down) and still in work for 8.30 Cheers tradex Just a thought, works well on scooter and mower but the batteries are tiny little bike batteries.
