So even if the driver is uninsured, as he is not driving under the terms of your insurance policy, the insurance company will still payout? So all these conditions on my policy, not to be used for hire and reward etc, are void as Good reason not to put cars on MID that you aren't using. So I wonder who he told the police he is insured with. I assume if he said you they would have checked with you.

So if he was insured under your policy. Your insurers pay out. Or If he wasn't insured on your policy it's his insurer who pays out. If he had no insurance then he is personally liable. I fail to see how the OP is personally liable. Or I am I missing something? The only way Lookers might have agreed to insure it was as he was going on a work course. Suprised he hasn't got third party liability to drive any car not belonging to him, assuming he has a insurance policy in his name.

I have seen Cat Bs advertised before on EBay. Last one a Ferrari. Casper is correct Cat Bs SHOULDN’T be put back on the road. But that is just the ABI code. There is no law. Although I believe since they stopped doing VIC checks DVLA will no longer issue V5s to newly repaired A and B category cars. I think I read somewhere that flood damaged cars would get Cat B although I may be wrong.

Had an appointment with a guy and his partner on a Focus 1.0 eco boost last week. Makes all the right noises so we go for a test drive. Again says all the right things on the test drive. Come back asks for a quick word with his partner. Then comes over and asks to test drive a Megane diesel!! Here we go I think. Turned out his partner wanted the Megane. Result!

So have they cloned the chassis number as well?

If you are going to self warrant use a company like Lawgistics or A1 who will supply booklets and, if required, admimistrate the claims for you. Search the forum for more information
