  1. https://media.motors.co.uk/motors-network/ I started on a free month or 2. Then a discounted month. Before commiting.
  2. Thing is they have several other platforms they put it on. Not every customer like Autotrader
  3. I have 34 for £144inc Vat. I keep debating whether to give it up and then you sell 1. Or like today a lady rings up and comes with her son and daughter in law to see a Jazz, which she decides is too big so goes for a Micra instead. Whilst they are here daughter in law falls in love with an SLK. So that's 2 more for motors this month.
  4. “It's funny coz I bought a 2012 X5 X Drive 3.0 M Sport over the weekend and it should arrive tomorrow, but all I can think about is what I can do with the above banger” Dont take your eye off where the real money is!
  5. Auto/manual Diesel/electric Ideal for indecisive people.
  6. "apart from emmisions there doesn't look too much else that is in the Mot." Sorry. Mean't to put isn't in the Mot.
  7. So with Making Tax Digital around the corner and his partner wanting to retire my accountant has merged his business with a bigger company. They came and introduced themselves yesterday and we discussed options on how to move forward. Anyway they said they would get back to me with a cost proposal (I'm guessing increase) So I just wanted to get an idea what people are paying. At the monent I pay £600 a quarter. Which is basically me giving them the invoices and they do the Vat and end of years accounts. I guess the things that effect the amount of work/price are. Turnover £1.3 million. Cars sold 250. Employees 0. Not a Limited Company
  8. The Pre Delivery Inspection is your friend. Get pads from Lawgistics or similar. Then get the car inspected, preferebly by an independent garage, any faults rectified or declared to the next potential owner. Then you should be able to relax.
  9. Conversely. If you had the car Mot'd 2 months before sale what safety checks are you doing prior to the vehicle leaving the forecourt? As we all know calipers can sieze and springs break on a stationary vehicle. If I were ever in a legal situation where I was asked when the vehicle had it's Mot I would feel better saying a couple of days before collection rather than a few weeks. I am no mechanic. But looking at the Lawgistics PDI pads apart from emmisions there doesn't look too much else that isn't in the Mot. Please correct me if I'm wrong. So getting the PDI and service done when the vehicle comes in and Mot when sold works for me.
  10. The Pdi my garage does covers virtually everything in an Mot apart from emissions.
  11. 100% how I do it. Whilst cars sit brake callipers can seize. I’ve even had coil springs break whilst sitting on the forecourt. Putting the Mot on when it is sold makes sure the car is safe as can be when it drives away.
  12. And that’s the beauty of Simons business model. While we all have to juggle customers and test drives and the associated stress to sell 5 in a day all Simon has to do is answer the phone and tell them his bank details. (Probably, in my mind anyway, whilst sitting in an armchair smoking a cigar with a large glass of scrumpy) Keep up the good work fella.
  13. Come on. Surely you replied. ”Oh go on then. Bring £8989 cash in the morning “
  14. Yes you are. Buyer has to prove fault was present at time of sale within the first 30 days for “short term right to reject” to apply After that, and up to 6 months from purchase date, it’s up to the dealer to prove fault wasn’t present at time of sale.
  15. I’m with Lloyds. Our local Post Office, small village, can take £1000 per hour as they have an open counter. However no limit per day. However Lloyd’s charge me 1% plus Vat for cash deposits. Call to my business manager, think we last spoke 5 years ago, tomorrow.
  16. Haven’t been through it but if you want to settle it just offer what you think you want to pay. Buy it back at full sale price or current retail price. If you think that’s fair/ acceptable. I imagine it is just a case of the mediator passing on your offer. So justify what you are offering. I would guess it’s just basic haggling. You offer a price. She rejects. You offer more. I don’t believe the Judge is informed of these negotiations if it goes to court.
  17. Can’t you just ask your Mrs for any ideas for paying less Vat? Although I can guess the answer will be “pay what you owe. It will be cheaper in the long run”
  18. Be very careful charging/jump starting modern cars. Better to start them regularly and give them a run when the roads are clean
  19. What’s in a name. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Sigma_engine
  20. Cash being the operative word. Can’t see many finance companies wanting get involved with that age car.
  21. I quite like the idea of beer...... BHM couldn’t have put it better,
  22. So is it just those of you who sent your cheques so they arrived after the renewal date that got a notice of surrender? If so I think I see the problem!
