Does at Main Dealers . Seen Audi S3 , A3 A4 all main dealer services , with stiff brakes , low pads , and worst of all air filters so clogged you could grow carrots in them . Even Oil filters that have all but dissolved in side they've been on that long , Horrendous really . Why we strip everything and re do the lot . Eliminates problems of the embarrassing kind then when some one fishes out a pollen filter or air filter that is blocked . When customers start bragging about full main dealer history , I start getting worried
-
Every single car has its oil and filter changed , every single cars brakes are stripped and checked , replaced if required , tyres checked and changed if needed . arms , bushes brake pipes on older stuff either cleaned , or replaced if required , hand brakes adjusted were required . NO advisory MOT Follows every time . No piggies flying here But i do operate mostly in the more expensive end really
-
Why would you not service and MOT everything you sell , Part of the inspection routine , I even service cars when they have been done last week , I want to know the oil and filters are top spec stuff not some ebay garbage parts . ,. Like brakes too strip clean , inspect , new pads and possible discs if needed . Advertise as done and show people the benefits . But the real reason is YOU know its going to be ok ,
-
Oil Pressure test it at worst . Might be the sensor at best . faulty sensors can read wrong at tick over and go out under load . cheap fix to try anyway if its a sensor , worth doing to start with . Also check the correct oil filter is fitted , cheap filters can do this as well . Put a Good one on so it flows as it should if its a cheapie . Mann are good on them .

Bye Bye Autotrader,Google sales platform coming ?
David Horgan replied to trade vet's topic in General Dealer Chat
Just worry how we will show up against the big boys who will of course control their search appearances by means we wouldn't probably have access to .. Be a dot of sand in the desert we will, on a on a google platform . -
Got to agree there , cant imagine being sent down for theft knowing well you didn't do it can you . one question always sprung to my mind was . how on earth did anyone imagine nearly 500 people decide to pull off the same scam , incompetence at the highest order , that Paula cretin should do time indeed

Print a V62 fill it in with the reg and vin , take it to post office and ask the question , can it be taxed ? some will some wont , we have two PO and one does the work the other is a waste of space . If it needs to be in trade then put it in trade not your name , customer comes and take them to the PO .
-
USE A V62 FORM , down load it from dvla , fill in VIN Number , Reg of car , New keeper details , and present at post office on sale day . take it to post office with new keeper details on , if you have the previous keepers post code it might save you £25 , if not it will cost £25 . V62 will also tax the car for the new keeper and create a new V5 in their name .

Got a Golf R with leaking water thermostat housing , assured on water level light , Cost them £678 + Vat to fix . The other is a £21k I30 N that failed to start , went to Hyundai on assured and they found a Ghost immobilizer fitted , Cost BCA assured £500 plus transport to fix it , broke again next day with same problem , So now its in main dealer again having a new wiring loom and ECU fitted , BCA contribution is £1500 and Hyundai are stumping up the rest to nearly 4k to not fixing it in first place , Paid us £750 back in lost sales too . It all depends on how many cars you buy i think as to how easy they are to deal with . But my daughter can recite BCA T&C's off like nothing else , she goes back at them into a corner and it escalates higher up till it gets paid out -

Cheaper end is hopeless online . small auctions will sweep up eventually on older stuff . BCA more expensive stuff is a jungle too mind , Only thing working the assured system if you know how to work it . Got two low miles 18 plate 20 k cars in main dealer being fixed right under the assured scheme now so its a mind battle at present buying stuff -
Thats funny and true

99 Pence sale that's why
-
Business to business sale eg you to taxi man . CRA doesn't apply , no warranty need be given as warranty is your choice . Plus who in their right mind would warrant a taxi
-
I just keep a copy of sales receipt date and time of transfer and leave it as is . Does depend on who though i must admit . Have emailed DVLA to tell them its gone to whoever i sold it to in trade . That's when i don't know them .
-
Auction Staff advertise all these parts on face book . No member of the trade is allowed on site anymore to steal them are they , so its staff nicking them . I bought a car from BCA and it came with all the badges missing , BCA said sold as seen , but badges were clear on the pictures and i printed them out . They bought me new badges at a silly cost , no wonder some smart arse stole them .

Imagine taking the Carzamy cinnchy idea to Dragons den Now dragons we have a Venture Capital loan so we can deliver cars at a loss , this will be a 3 yrs multi million pound Loss , Reason we are here is to ask for £30 million to prop up the losses while we lose some more money , we need your cash as we haven't got our own money . BUT buy borrowing all these lovely Millions we have managed to value the business at £100 million by adding all the cars we don't own together . Answers Be funny to take that business idea to the dragons den wouldn't it Just imagine the answers . I'm OUT you cant add up , you don't understand business , your worth NOTHING , how do you value a loss from borrowed money , OUT Now . I'm not investing

Carzo zam inch or whatever they call them selves thought they had cornered the mkt with online delivery . THEN the virus changed the world , BCA even went online , We as independent traders went online too and there's 1,000's of car sellers delivering cars now which has probably diluted the theory somewhat . Now the next change in my head , people will get permission to leave their house to be in a freaky position of actually seeing what buy , Bugger getting it delivered I'm off for a ride & have a look at my next car , buy a burger and a coffee on the way , see it coming cant you . Had two customers yesterday wanting to see the car they want to buy , talk of how does it work is fading fast as of course they want to see a 5 yr old car , feel it touch it sit in it before buying . We and the rest of us independents are set up to go back to showing customers cars of course , see online car buying fading away personally . People are ready to get out . lets see how the next few months go , all the very best to all traders , hope its heading for a good year .

I absolutely agree pal . But I seriously don't have time , its card in terminal and sale done .
-
I couldn't live without the card Terminal , I really couldn't Fast , instant , great for NOW payments , over phone deposits The trouble Ive had with bank transfers being slow drives me insane , 2 hours , 4 hours , security checks , only send 5k then wait 2 hours , drives me nuts , I love , card in terminal , pay Now , Go on your way , next customer please . Good luck if you do get on with transfers though , least its free .
-
They are legally allowed to bid it to reserve . After that its off to traders , Bids are high at present though and look like being so for some time to come . Like the CLK 280 . low miles CAP don't exist , its the brave hearts or the stupid who win ,
-
Barclay Card deal with takepayments as terminal provider , Got some great rates , but i do put £200,000 a month min through it and how much makes a difference to rates , Debit charge here is small
-
Probably a little more than 50% actually

I always test drive every thing we sell Casper So i'm in anything from the latest Golf R to an Aygo PX all trade cars . I do have a Very Sorted Personal 600+ BHP XFR in the Garage though for Sunday lunches if we ever get back to Sunday lunch and if they are open when we do get back . , Today I'm in a 90k 58 plate Octavia VRS px because it was brimmed with fuel . Neighbours love my old bangers, last week it was a C1 07 plate shitter , week before 05 plate Panda , cant trade a car on when the petrol's worth more than the car can you . Lease is not for me . I like the mods far to much , If it ain't got 8 cylinders and growls I'd get bored in mins , have to open the garage door and laugh or its gone I'm old enough to know better really . But silent electric will be here soon sad days Wife's got a Skoda 245 VRS estate , she shares it with the Dog I do nick that .
