  1. its just a joke, were not clear how we can display them legally yet safely, theres no site where you can check if theyre indate, they are abused by even the most experienced, and customers always think they are "insurance plates " ?
  2. and at the bottom, where the customer signs it states "i have read and fully understand the terms of this contract" I do my own receipts, years of experience has taught me how best to cover myself, example today, 17 year old, first car, father signed for it, 17 year old cant . judge picked up on my receipts, and questioned the claimant " why are you bringing a claim when you quite clearly have read the contract, signed the contract, and produced it in evidence in my court, yet not followed the terms of the contract ?"
  3. i use the words "whom to contact in first instance" followed by name address phone number. top of invoice.
  4. i know i know i know ! BUT, hes only had it 10days ! and whatever pdi sheet or quoting its mega miles or 11 year old will not stand up in the eyes of a judge, in my opinion the customer could quite rightly reject the car completely, and the seller can quote all day fault not present at time of sale, but its so easy on the seller because he doesnt have to prove anything, other than what hes already got in his hand, a piece of paper from a garage with a estimate, and probably a recommendation by the garage to not use the vehicle because it could cause further damage [ cat] its the job were in and thats it ! we need to be fair, not fall over, but be aware that it could turn funny, been there, got the scars, i think arfurs come across a very fair guy indeed and should consider himself lucky because theres some right ****s out there [customers]
  5. nope, ive no idea what your on about dependant on set up, a clutch cable can get "damp" internally [ washed off] and freeze internally, press the clutch but it doesnt fully release, the springs in diaphragm let it off just enough but it slips, had this once, and didnt do it again till next -0c
  6. i repeat as per page 1 = an offence is committed on any land where the public has access. pay the fine, dont chip on your next sale, the customer always pays
  7. Wear and tear ? hmmm? what about "fair" wear and tear? more appropriate i think on 11 days use ?
  8. aerosol brake cleaner, its only £2 each if you buy 5, squirt the cap out, then a clean cloth in rocker cover, then "expert" mr mechanic thats kicking the tyres tells you the last two he looked at head gaskets were gone a steel rocker cover is far more suspect to mayo than a alloy, alloy gets warmer and burns off the damp
  9. all buyers are liars inspect the p/ex "its been great" =gearbox jumps out of second "just fancy something different" =i cant afford that big bill thats due "always fancied one of these and dont really want to part with my car" please dont look underbonnet "it is a short mot, but it will fly another" =last years advisories answer that one ! if they dont inspect your car properly, theyre desperate to get shut of p/ex, if they do inspect your car, then double inspect theres ! all buyers are liars inspect the p/ex
  10. always cheers me up on the way there on the way there = lip up fatty! bad manners ! and on the return if ive bought a stinker= heaven knows im miserable now
  11. A crime that in the main is ignored, how many times do i read " they missed the culprits" is astounding, the politicians love it, keeps trouble indoors, not on the street, cannabis is wages round here in the tumble down factories, your factory will only get broke into if they think your doing a grow, cash up front for 6 months rent, telling me the landlords dont know ? local shop is open eight till eight, a dealers open 24 hour, easier to get than a loaf of bread, politicians get honours and 38% of the kids in manchester live below the poverty line, who is really profiting ? boils my piss
  12. must mean mr moderator is on holidays cos links are still there who can we slag off while hes away ?
  13. I have had a word with the wife and she says i can wish you all a very merry xmas great forum, learnt plenty and enjoy giving my two pence worth, have a great profitable new year lads , and dont answer the phone on boxing day it might be somebody moaning MERRY XMAS
  14. they dont fill in the logbook, you do, they only see the greenslip and the front page which says number of former keepers none !?!
  15. why would you get them cheaper than the advertised price ? a proper genuine seller selling a car with a fault will "auction" the car, and, in my experience will achieve a good price, and i repeat, a proper genuine seller ! if you cant differentiate between a proper genuine seller and a trader then you need to look again at your plan, sorry, but only if life was that simple ! as recommended, stick to looking within ten miles, gain some viewings, and youll see its just a nightmare, good luck.
  16. Six o clock phone rings, "have you still got the ******? " sorry mate, took a depo at five, advert will be modified when ive had me dinner eight o clock phone rings "have you still got the ******? " sorry mate took a depo at five, advert says so, did you ring me earlier your number seems familiar ?. ten o clock phone rings, now this is normally ignored at this time, but i recognised the number "have you still got the ******? " you rang me earlier, i explained, and i told you there was a depo on it, and i told you i would keep your number, and if the sale falls through i will phone you first, not a problem , "but" he says, " i havent phoned you earlier " he says rather angrily, i asked him maybe someones borrowed your phone matey, and honestly youve phoned me three times now proper teapots these people
  17. Theyre just in the top ten of fastest selling used cars, so thats a good starter, theyre simple/cheap for most parts, but very competitively priced in the resale market, have to use your own usp to gain the sale, the blue oval badge mentioned earlier is a fantastic point.
  18. weve all been there mate, i once had a yard full of "older" cars, no calls, no interest, thoughts of scrapping the lot monday morning, really down, saturday, 3 oclock, phone lit up, sold 6 in 2 hour, boy i had a good drink that night dont let the job drag you down !!!
  19. why not ? has the n/s door lock froze due to little/non use ? soak it with wd i think to synchronise the keys put key in ign till lights on [ oil/charge/etc] press remote 5 times, turn off and try . didnt these used to get water in the sunroof / aerial? and dampen the receiver ?
  20. cat n is NOT previously known as cat d , its nothing to do with cat d, cat d WAS estimated cost of repairs not more than retail cost of car, cat n is not in anyway associated with cost of repair, neither is cat s, so a cat s could be more economical to repair than cat n maybe ? i love these stories of oh its only stolen recovered with keys, no damage, yeah right, thats why theyve paid out thousands
