  1. couldn't make it up could you ? what planet are these folk from ?
  2. Spin it round, if you saw something really tasty, low mileage or classic minter, you would find the time / make the effort to travel and at least leave a depo, and arrange collection later, if its something standard and boring you could find it in your locality. So no, let them make theeffort, by all means stay open a bit longer, or pick em up from station, but in this job you bend too far over and they stick it right up you ! and we dont like it up em
  3. my opinion is 3mm is not thick enough, and definitely not suitable [ vinyl] near a ramp, 5mm best for heavy traffic and uneven floor, i would close the doors, hire a heater and gas bottle, sweep then mop HALF of your area, and when dry paint it, roller, stuck in end of broom handle. i have seen [and dont forget its getting cold now] a friend had to delay opening his new garage for a week + due to paint being tacky, a properly painted floor resists water, sweeps easy, mops easy, and oil leaks arent a concern.
  4. wouldnt surprise me either, its another "2 cars in drive and *f* all in fridge" what is the alternative ? no newer car and chase her for £500, or put her in another car and let her tell herself this is only a few more pounds a month ? when she arrives home in her new car it looks to her neighbours like shes doing well, and thats all shes interested in, shes probably showing it off right now. [unless your reading this at 3 o clock in morning in which case its doubtfull, but she may have bought a torch, on her card] when provident are knocking on the door and youve kept up your payments on your loan theyre offering another loan " to tide you over xmas"
  5. There is ! theres a couple in my local supermarket i seem to see week in week out, he examines EVERY joint of meat, anything new on the shelves, like a lets say dustbin, he pulls it to bits, then puts it back, his wife just leans on the trolley all the way round, must be at least in there 2 hour, its like a day out for them, i must view what car he drives one day, just to get a opinion, then theres a neighbour to me, every weekend they would go and view new builds, absolutely no intention of moving, total messpots, and when i disregard customers i get the "dont you want to sell a car then ?" kin messpots
  6. re trade plate in window, it would fail a mot, drivers view of the road, so straightaway, youve failed as for where to mount them, especially front, i am well unsure, perhaps the whole idea needs rethinking and we put them on the roof just like a learner car/police car ? need a strong magnet mind, speed my test drive customers go at !
  7. be carefull here, tread carefully, your comment "it was sold as seen without any warranty" could backfire on you in any court action [ think about it, the judge sees this or its brought to his attention and your on a downer straightaway]. question for you, you say the = (the car is being used by a learner driver) was this pointed out to you at time of sale ? was the daughter / son present at point of sale ? did you infer the car was suitable to be used as a learner car [ note, most warranties specifically dont cover for learner driving practises] see where i am going here ? something or someones spooked her re small claims, do the alternator only, there seems to be a opinion on here, and i am not falling out with anybody, that the cheaper a car is the less rights the consumer has, this is wrong, very wrong, to stay a good trader, dont put sold as seen, do a pdi, with the full mot [ you did, well done] in actual fact the cheaper a car is, there will be more problems, and the cheaper a car is seems to attract the screamers anyway, good luck
  8. i have a good old starter / charger, plugs in mains, bloody deadly thing, pops my rcds turn everything else off inside before turning to start position frightens the life out of me, its started tractors, fork lifts, flick it to 24v for the wagon that stalled in my yard and it once blew apart a starter motor on a clonker , bloody deadly thing ! but when your rushing round and your stuck etc
  9. looking at this from the balance of probabilities, a layman would believe that service history would mean a service history of some standing either by a stamped book or invoices covering a length of time, i would expect the use of the word service history would not necessarily indicate full service history but a lot more than one very recent service. so, on this occasion, i rule on the part of the claimant boo hiss
  10. What are your perceptions of electric cars? SHOCKINGHow do you think having an electric car would impact your lifestyle? IMPACT ? What do you think is stopping you from getting an electric vehicle? ABOUT £38000What do you think would make you want to get an electric vehicle? IF GIVEN ONEHow would you describe your typical weekend? FILLING IN SURVEYSPlease rate the following in terms of spending priority: Groceries, entertainment, transportation, shopping, lighting fires, DEFINITELY LIGHTING FIRESWhat do you think about the zero emissions initiative that will ban the use and sale of petrol cars in the UK by 2040? I DONT THINK
  11. brilliant so sell ten cars in one week, hope they all come back in ten weeks and pocket £8000 far better than stick em up and you've got your original investment back
  12. turning left at 30-40 mph and the noise increase its the o/s turning right at 30-40 mph and the noise increase its the n/s hth
  13. so the full mechanical failure rendered the car undriveable, [and if i wrote everything that happened it would be more suitable for a book so will skim best as] this is where the recovery, storage and mental strain loss of income etc claim came from, i also had the claim for remember, court costs, original claim and also i had a claim for money spent whilst in there ownership [ i fitted a part and charged them cost price, at the time it was agreed it was failure due to age/mileage, later in the claimants claim paperwork this was denied lying barstewards ! ] reading up on internet i learnt [ and the point in writing this is to help people who face a future claim] that when you look closely at the claim, [and whatever you do respond in a time !] it maybe made up of 3 or 4 or more claims in one, now what you MUST do, and its just easy to say i deny selling them a faulty car, you must also deny the other parts of the claim, or you may end up paying 25% of the claim because you didnt deny it ! covered by a simple = "defendant denies each and every allegation" because when writing your defence, its so easy to miss something! small claims work on the balance of probabilities, and if its judged probable you did sell them a faulty car then because you didnt deny the other aspects of the claim [ maybe car hire] youll pay for that too ! this particular case i was 100% not going to be treat as a fool, the car was right when it left me, thats why i didnt just give em money back. my defence was the above, and it had a pdi, and it had a full mot, [ car also had a superb history, which i brought up in court] and my sales invoice, [learn here]. the case lasted a hour, i was confronted by loads of lies, but a good well written defence followed up by paperwork [proof] and straight answers to the claimants and judges questions gave me a "it is ordered the claim is dismissed" result! it was proven = fault was not present at time of sale. it was proven= any after sale work done by me i did not profit from [ customer service, i am a good lad ] . it was proven = my invoice did not withdraw the customer from his rights, and should have been read before signing / agreeing . little extra tip to slow these claimants down if your ever there, in your defence hold them to proof for every claim made in it, i e , they have to show proof [receipts, paperwork, diary pages etc.] to back up there claim, it slows them right down, and makes them work for it i was denied costs, i asked, i was refused .
  14. i had 3 witness statements against me, as well as the claimants claim for not only full money back on a vehicle purchased within 3 month [pre the new cra] but also claims for loss of wages, recovery, storage, and mental strain [honest!] the additional claim was deemed to be around a thousand pounds, [ to be estimated by judge at hearing ] the claimants 3 witness statements were full of non truths and it was a very painful ordeal leading up to the set date, never being in the situation before, and not knowing absolutely anything about money claim . [yes MONEY CLAIM, thats what you need to remember, its money claim] i can only thank god for the internet ! i was not allowed a independent engineer report, the citizens advice were hopeless beyond a joke, and to me the systems all wrong, its too easy to make a claim, and as a business its assumed you know everything from running a business to how to handle a small claim, the claim was mainly for a full mechanical failure of a vehicle....................sorry, will continue later, its rather upsetting.
  15. not having much luck lately just peeled a banana and it was empty
  16. bit of good news the car that was oily underneath, and this model never leaks, was a loose gearbox filler plug and the clutch that spun when you rested your foot on the pedal, adjusted to perfect so much for full service history by a back street bodger !
  17. I'm not going to buy your car because i would rather sit in my chair and ask a thousand questions, and if just one answer doesnt tick my box i am staying in my chair, even though i will lie to you and ask your opening times, and guarantee to ring before i set off kin messers
  18. i agree, better to try than not to try at all . in answer to your quote = "looking to do it with someone as I know I haven’t got the time at present to do it on my own" i would say if its a partnership agree everything in writing, biggest fallout ? money !
  19. quote = some shoppers are finding credit card firms are rejecting Section 75 claims because the retailer they bought from used a third-party payment-processing firm to collect their payment – and there's widespread confusion about how these rules apply. any thoughts ? are any of you with third party processing firms ?
  20. "We have been unable to verify the time recorded on this clock and it therefore must be considered incorrect".
