How quickly do you turn over your stock?
Tom replied to bestprice4cash's topic in General Dealer Chat
Because it's costing him £10 a day, so in 100 days time its chewed up a £1,000. Yes some cars have taken an age to sell for me but I don't have anyone to trade it to and you cant take them to auction as they make half the trade price. -

Tom replied to betginge's topic in General Dealer Chat
Yes they probably only research the big motor groups so us little dealers get tarred with the same brush I certainly didn't make a £6.5k loss! That was the month before -

Some cars go in a week others can take over 2 months, I've got 2 here now that I've had since February but they can just sit there until someone wants them! I do know of a dealer who had a car in stock for 2 years. -
1 today corsa VXR, through a finance company called MGS in Manchester similar to Zuto. Customer lives in Kent as well which is 4 hours away from me seem to sell quite a few cars to Kent.

Who do you use?

But if the warranty company says no its not covered, then doesn't the customer ring you anyway? Do you tell them to go away if the warranty company said no.
-
I know what you mean this job chews up a lot of time. I self warrant as I've never seen any good reviews on warranty companies. I buy my own balloons. My customers seemed impressed that I warrant the cars myself not had a problem without using a brand.
-
If you're paying in to a pot and they take the money out of your pot why don't you just self warrant? As your paying an admin fee on top as well.

Same as BCA any excuse to charge for something they will. Once the vendor put's the car in it should be them paying for it and that's it, not the vendor and the buyer. Still we just have to suck it up. I do offer to buy cars from the public and have had good success out of it and got some really good buys. but it's not enough.
-
This is why I don't use these kind of sites, no real condition report, no mechanical report. At least with BCA you get both these so if the cars is a tub like I had last month you can get a refund. Plus if you're there in person you can see and hear the car first. I know the fees are much greater with auctions houses but you get the backup and I hate anything to do with main dealers there stuck up attitude is unreal.

1 This week, I find people with money have gone away and left the others, only got people coming in looking for cheap cars. Always the same in August.

A lot of supermarkets have a admin fee for things like this. I charge to credit cards but not debit.
