  1. It’s being quick to adapt to whatever’s right for you but at this time there really is a limited supply of used, our supply chains all but dried up.
  2. 100% hold tight as once they sell its going to be a really tough job replacing. Bounce back loans could see dealers using that to stock up which could push prices up and there will be a real fight for stock. Those of us who have been selling and delivering have certainly not been able to replace at the same level.
  3. Ok McLaren I would only buy from a dealer for the warranty aswell. i would also be well prepared to lose a few quid on one but still wouldn’t say no.
  4. Why not just buy a lumpy car trade without retail mark up and drip it up yourself? works out much cheaper mate. Got a good broker for stuff like that if you want to PM me. Aldermore / Alphera still have very high residuals.
  5. The motor trade is behind the digital curve and doesn’t want it. It makes everything they have worked for redundant. That’s why cazoo will work. Before cazoo was even announced and the idea was thought up I was offering next day delivery and pushing towards enhancing our online business via click engage, remote sales etc. It is the future of every business and every industry. those of us set up to offer easy online buying will do very well out of this situation.
  6. Cant invest all that money into huge Gin palaces and then just start delivering cars demonstrating no need for gin palace and a big storage yard would do can you
  7. Agree as much as they can do really.
  8. Yet cars are emotional and a style purchase for many and that goes out the window. TV is right the savvy traders who adapt will be fine despite any challenges.
  9. Got to try haven’t we mate, finding ways to do things rather than ways not to as much as we can.
  10. £30k Q7 £20k glc £17k Focus ST £7k fiesta ST since thursday here - mixed bag of stock. Mixed bag of customers. q7 - lease is ending, logistics company are still collecting he needs a new car ST3 focus just wanted a new car fiesta wants new car glc been working hard in a supermarket management and fancied treating herself as current car was past its best. having to be really selective with deals, and quite picky around pxs. need another recovery truck if anyone has one they want rid of aswell.
  11. Good to see you back mate hope you are well and that Hot tubs had a clean if you had some free time I was meant to do a Cuillin traverse up your way it had been booked for last week. The one time there is good weather and not a cloud in the sky and its cancelled.
  12. @James Baggott for delivery if you have 2 staff members who live together ie brothers etc this is the perfect opportunity for delivery or get your partner / wife to come with you to collect you aswell. A few solutions.
  13. Ill be operating where its safe to do so. I'm of sound fitness and health but have got a newborn baby at home. Very cautious. Delivery is contactless so not getting near anyone. Its lower risk than a trip to the shops, the highest risk aspect of it is the trip to put fuel in and i've only been to pay at pump with gloves on since this so I feel if we are sensible, logical even someone with terrible asthma could theoretically go to their own unit, get the car on their truck and drive to a fuel station to fuel truck and then drop car to customers house and post the key. You are having no contact with anyone.
  14. I actually bought a bike off Facebook marketplace today. Hounded the guy like a Bradford punter on an RS3 for a week for best price kesh and got a steal something that would have been 1200+ 3yrs age and used maybe 3/4 times for £250. Think we are a good few weeks before back May aswell make the most of the downtime.
  15. Good news. If I sold T shirts online I could get DPD to pick up at my office / unit / warehouse. They could deliver to customers. Car is just a bigger purchase and as long as delivered contact free I will maintain we are doing no wrong or no harm.
  16. Absolutely. And if your business hasn’t adapted and you can’t offer it then that’s the game. I set up online delivery last year for free next day nationwide, got a truck, did my videos etc and I can offer this second no problem as my cars are prepped and good to go. For some there’s good opportunity here. For others there isn’t but that’s the game and that’s business it ain’t all hugs, smiles and fair.
  17. Most likely true when you think about it. plus loads of misinformation. Keep seeing you can only have one hour excercise per day. Where does it say that ?
  18. I think it’s because they can’t go fully digital. us smaller indies, at least many of us, can safely operate digitally, online with safe delivery completely free from contact. If business switched that way for the next year I could quite easily adapt. If I had a multi million pound showroom would I want to. im starting to look beyond this and sure there’s a lot of what ifs after lock down but there’s bound to be a lot of opportunity aswell.
