  1. i imagine the finance rate the customer was paying will be more over priced than the car
  2. 23 so far flying start so far and bought a load of stock this week so should hopefully be able to keep the momentum going. It's the nice spec stuff that's selling for me I would say. I have also had 2 both go belly up this week also with deposits on one customer has declined to proceed ( he was a bit odd anyway) and another one I have lost due to a catostrophic failure on cf24/7s part. They sent a customer who lived over 2 hours away to collect a car from us that was not paid out with no contact with me. Customer turns up car isn't valeted and I chased and chased for them to payout with nothing being done. customer ended up waiting around for 4 hours still no luck and he left and they rang half an hour later to release funds and customer told them to shove it. Reflectes terribly on my business.
  3. Only issue we ever had was delivering a Mazda MX5 to London, the customer was dissapointed to find out it only had 2 seats as they wanted the 4 seat model. I kid you not
  4. Off to a strong start. Just can't manage to replace stock quick enough at the moment finding that the hardest part of the job right now.
  5. Around £35 pw I think. I can't see you gettig hounded by their sales people at all. The product they have sells itself and is just fantastic. A very pleasant and nice team and in all my interactions I have had with them I simply cannot fault them.
  6. Big cars trade plates interview was good I liked that one. Seemed a good guy and has certainly taken a few risks to get where he is.
  7. Some of the jardine stuff is quite good.
  8. So if a customer has a fault you give them their money back? Are you Vat registered ? You have sold 25 cars since February you must be doing something right.
  9. If your using cars that are registered to trade you need trade plates to move them or for test drives. I couldn't justify not having them. By don't do warranty what do you do if a customer has a fault with a car you sell? if I buy from you do I get any benefits over buying privately ?
  10. I think our average stock turn is 34 days according to autotrader data iirc ? i often leave stuff on until it's collected when it has a deposit on it or if I have a couple of spare slots and similar cars in stock. 9 days is good work. Keep it up.
  11. The admin fee I have negotiated with them is really very minor. I believe it assists with accounting figures. whilst our total number of repairs claimed is very little I just don't want to be dealing with every customer for some trivial things and would rather the warranty company tell them it's their car and down to them on the wear and tear stuff. When the business grows I might look to do it 100% in house. If I was a smaller business I might have more time to do it all in house currently 7 days and seem to be starting earlier and finishing later all the time I just cba.
  12. A1 warranties are very good. You pay them an admin fee per policy. you pay an amount per warranty which goes into your own pot. When you make a claim they pay out out of your own fund. I have saved a fortune using them. I don't respect or rate any aftermarket warranty company they just do not want to or like paying out. I I would advise staying away from warrantywise they are a truly awful company to have dealt with.
  13. A couple of space heaters Umesh little portable gas type heaters or you can run them on red diesel aswell. Give euro or CES a call they should be able to hook you up.
  14. My payments are next working day. Can't afford to wait 3/4 days for anything.
  15. Needs to be passed on IMO. Work it out on every 100k turned over then every million turned over. Cost soon becomes another huge burden. Soon stacks right up. A couple of people quoted on autotraders forum that a company were saying they would still fix the costs but I am sceptical. Need to speak to a few other companies myself and get things in order.
  16. 16 cars sold so far this month with only 2 awaiting collection currently so last week was nuts as you can imagine. Trying to re stock now which is always the challenging part.
  17. If it's not an economical repair then refund. These customers all do 10 minutes on google and come back with a legal degree specialising in consumer rights. In sure they think it's always our first day or that we have never had to resolve an issue with a used vehicle before. Dont be a pushover on it be firm and once your decision is made stick to it. If you want to refund so be it .
  18. What's your website Steve sounds like some nice bits of stock are in and out.
  19. I like the volume buying approach they can't all be knackered right ? although some weeks I do wonder
  20. I have had major headache with all of the ones I have had. Will not buy them in at all.
  21. Why would you lose it by paying the cars off to quickly ? Who was it with ?
  22. Very sorry to hear that things have not worked out for you. Best of luck.
  23. I did edit as it came across as sounding extremely harsh. Then again that's business. Try a few private buys. You learn to negotiate with the purchasing which can help you with selling.
