  1. We sell lots of diesels. We prep and check everything over as best as we can. Let says next year someone pops their car into an MOT test that they had bought from us and finds the DPF has been removed are we looking at getting comebacks? Currently if I sold a car unknowingly (no defence I know) with no dpf internals what would be expected of us? I hate diesel cars
  2. I do my very best to respond to all enquiries. Directly off PX tool we have sold a very small amount given the amount of daft enquiries it gets and even being fully upbeat, positive and having had a coffee you cant help but groan when another comes through. Out of every form of contact we get this has the worst rate of conversion you could ever imagine. Worst product introduced at the worst possible time in a deal - If someone called you or came to see you you would be getting them a little bit hot and bothered for your car before giving indications between X and X for a part ex. You would not ask them for their reg number and mileage and then give them a px figure you would at least have a look and drive of the damn thing and then have an educated go at it. It should be shelved.
  3. £80 charges, and all this other stuff is just not the way to go about this type of thing. There is firm yet fair and then there is not giving a f*&k. Obviously the fact you post on here wanting to resolve it suggests you are keen to get the issue sorted. That letter if I were a customer who knows his rights ( we all know the type) would leave me gunning for you and getting someones back up is not a good way to get them onside. A brief to the point letter is all it needs to be, this has taken me all of a couple of minutes. Nothing wrong with helping others out from time to time. Dear so and so, You have experienced a problem with your used vehicle REG XXXXXX purchased from us on XXXXX It is unfortunate to hear you are unhappy and we empathise with you fully. We at TS Cars pride ourselves on customer service and are very keen to change your experience. We suggest you return the car to us to enable us to carry out an investigation into any issue you feel is present. We know about the issue. We want to help you resolve the issue. Without seeing the car we cannot do anything about this. Please help TS CAR SALES so we can help you and show you what a great friendly after sales service we provide. A clutch is a wear and tear item. The car is a used vehicle of higher mileage and here at TS Car SALES we are still welcoming you back offering to repair/replace/refund as goodwill with no cost to you, you just simply have to bring the car back. Please take a step back and look at this situation and see that really this is not a bad deal we are offering. We will repair and rectify promptly if a fault is found. We will communicate and update you clearly along the way. You will be treated as a priority. Once you are booked in we will order the parts from our local parts company so they are sat in our workshop / mechanics / garage ready to be used if we agree with your findings and we can have the repair turned around in the shortest time possible minimising any inconvenience. We explicitly do not authorise any repair to be carried out until we have inspected the vehicle. You are aware of your rights as a consumer however make no mistake as a business we have rights also. If you were to take us to court having had repair work done despite us telling you we would be happy to carry out a repair on a wear and item you have not mitigated your loss and acted reasonably and in my opinion this would not be looked upon favourably by the courts. Please drop me an email on TS@tscarsforlife.com or call 0172324678904 or even my personal mobile number 1452678900225 to book in with me and lets get this matter moving forward and brought towards and amicable conclusion. Yours Faithfully Big Boss TS Cars Sales
  4. Well done Mat, can tell from your posts and things here you are a hard working guy. Best of luck to you.
  5. Yesterday was brilliant I do 10-4 on a Sunday usually come in around 9ish - From 09:20 until 4:40pm I had customers on site all day did not have a spare minute and not had a busy day like that in ages. Absolutely love it can't beat that buzz of dealing all day love it. Just me and my valeter in and managed to sell half the amount of cars in one day that I have sold so far this whole month, just completely out of nowhere, nothing different just swarms of people.
  6. Best of luck to anyone in the running this year. We had a highly commended last year and what a difference to business it made.
  7. Maybe just try this something like this rather than texting back and to. Under the consumers rights act you can't pick and choose the sections you want to apply to you and forget the bits that give me, the dealer some protection. i don't strongly believe or suspect the fault was not present at time of sale I have documented proof of this to be the case along with a written independent report. In the interests of moving this along I have outlined 3 options. 1 amount £x sent to you sort it yourself full and final dealt with 2 return car to my premises for me to carry out a repair and diagnosis at no cost to you. Car will be repaired. You will be responsible for any recovery charges. 3 car is returned to me and a refund given with deduction for use damages etc in the region of £x500/200/300 Ultimately I am trying and still willing to help you and this situation is taking longer to resolve with the back and forth between us. I remain reasonable, open and willling towards reaching an amicable conclusion and I want this matter brought to a close for both of us promptly.
  8. I would not offer someone half the repair cost.
  9. 'He is trying to take it to some breakers in Sheffield who also repair cars'. Quarry motors ? They do know what they are doing when it comes to BMW's I have had a couple of parts off them and a customer of mine had a fault with a BMW over that way and they sorted it out quickly and were actually quite good. Sure they built a couple of 1 series coupes and chucked 4.0 V8s M3 engines in them also. You have acted reasonably so far IMO with the checks carried out at point of sale and providing you have proof you are in a strong position. You may have missed the black tape over a gearbox light. It may have already been there. Arguments for both sides now its been removed. The customer knows fault was not present, its developed in his own words and has been fine for XXX miles and 7 weeks. The main thing is getting it sorted - If it were me I would be pretty relieved that I could make it go away for £560 as an E46 M3 SMG has the potential to throw up some serious bills. I would not really be wanting to offer a refund on it. Surely anyone that buys one of these cars knows what they are getting into they are an an expensive car if they go wrong. What year is it? Remember in these situations its not personal its just business.
  10. Think we have sold 6 so far this month. Been smashing 40+ a month and I am deadly quiet. Prices are good cars are all ready to go need to see some customers.
  11. Still quiet here to mate. Happy birthday for earlier in the week mate.
  12. Not nice for people to be gloating about it. Its nice to see others doing well and I have a lot of respect for most other traders out there as being in a business there is so many hours that get put in with the ups and downs and challenges that come across. I genuinely like seeing others succeed and I guess most on here are the same as we all share bits of info to help one another.
  13. Seen Caralot look to have closed on the main page. Gutted for then don't know them personally but really liked the set up and social media content. Certainly a business that has given me inspiration at times. Tough old game that we are all in.
  14. Andy is a verified trader and a top guy. Helps me out with lots of stuff even looking at and checking over cars at auctions. i can vouch if required.
  15. Ended up having a good chat and clearing the air on this situation. Everyone now knows where they stand. and thanks for the input I wasn't sure if I was just being a silly little girl and moaning about it or if others would feel the same and I do my best to make fair and reasonable decisions wherever possible.
  16. Thanks max - problem I have is almost feel whichever angle I take I can't win. If I stop using the bodyshop does that mean it stops being a conflict of interest? It then means due to mechanics own personal activities my business does suffer as I have to find a new place, disruption etc.
  17. Looking for a bit of feedback on a situation I have at the moment. I have currently said nothing and done nothing as to be honest unsure to a degree whether I have a right /reason to be put out. Our mechanic, great hard working individual and a real asset to my team. We use 2 bodyshops. 1 of these bodyshops has been getting my mechanic to go in at evenings and weekends and do mechanical work, all cash in hand and working on bodyshop owners mates/contacts cars doing strictly cash jobs. Our mechanic is not turning our work down, and I would say probably treats us as priority number 1 ie if offered overtime with us and bodyshop at same time would do the job for us first. My business is car sales and we have recently been pushing the service/repair side of things to the general public with view to increasing that. This has been communicated clearly and with involvement of our mechanic. Bodyshop is bodyshop activites and mechanical repairs to the public. Some cars get sold there ( cat c /d stuff). 3 miles from my site. I feel that the bodyshop has crossed a line in essence trying to poach my staff. I could quite easily have asked his staff to come and do jobs for me but out of respect for a business relationship would never do so. By the same token my local MOT centres have staff I could ask to come and do evening work for me when busy but out of respect for the owner and business relationship its not something I would do. Maybe I am wrong and its a free for all out there. Bodyshop owner previously got a bit upset with us when he realised we used another business not solely him despite him having absolutely no way of getting through any more work. Couple of my concerns are this causes a rift in my team and complications for me as a business. One I see is that out of this situation I do not trust my bodyshop guy now and will have to look to find a new place to turn my cars around. My mechanic ends up burnt out as we already regularly put in a lot of hours in my place with early starts and late finishes. I then end up paying sick pay as he is overworked. He ends up injured there and off sick do I end up paying for it. Lost a little trust and respect for my mechanic out of this situation to be honest. I think we all know mechanics will do foreigner jobs here and there for friends and family etc but working for another commercial organisation in a similar field does seem to be a conflict of interests to me. I currently pay well above industry average wage and mechanic working for me (22/23yr old) is on track to have taken around 30k this year from us. What would you do?
  18. Thinking of pulling it and going with car gurus. Free listings on car gurus and I get more enquires from there than motors tbh.
  19. Fingers crossed for a good weekend here. Still unusually quiet.
  20. I would recommend evolution funding as a broker. Good for the sub prime stuff and also some oddball stuff or rate sensitive stuff. Worth having up your sleeve.

    No V5?

Sometimes the V5 follows anyway. You can usually sort it it depends on the vendor. I buy them anyway makes no odds to me if it's a finance company car I just apply straight away.
  22. Level system someone that posts, contributes actually sells cars rather than thinking about doing so. you can soon sort the genuine members who post and contribute regularly. Someone could have 100 posts full of nonsense might not be in whereas someone with 20 straight talking useful posts could be in.
  23. So you are planning to deliver his adverts to lots of new customers ? delivering quality leads ?
  24. I've been away for a few days for my birthday. By all accounts we are dead at the moment and it's been painfully quiet.
