  1. credit4cars might be able to do something if affordability can be proven.
  2. We have sold 23 retail cars this month. Behind where I wanted to be. Also had a deluge of warranty claims that warranty provider have not paid out for. A fortune has been spent putting things right at our expense. Sometimes think we are to nice here and get mugged off a bit.
  3. I've bought cars with clutches that have gone. Online. Driven through. Happened on an Audi S3 which looked clean and tidy and was . Bar the modifications that were not listed. And the fact it had a stage 2/3 clutch kit fitted with solid flywheel conversion. Chalked it down to experience. You save time buying online but you do end up losing out sometimes. It's a volume game.
  4. No one reads adverts. All the time - " has it had cambelt changed and whens the MOT" Advert says cambelt changed at 58k and new 12 month MOT FFS lol.
  5. 4 Car Finance 24/7 deals this week - are these guys on a big advertising push at the moment? Did a deal with evolution funding for the first time this week - efficient, quick and good payout with quite a nice easy to use online portal system. Surprisingly good and would rate the experience quite highly. Worth a look as a broker for anyone who needs them. Stark contrast to our experiences with Jigsaw.
  6. We had a pigeon that flew in the office and landed on my business partners chair. Never seen him move so fast Does that count ?
  7. Might be useful could you not do it just by having a closed section of the forum where only a certain level/trusted poster/contributors can access? Maybe ones who have engaged, provided a website, vat number etc?
  8. 4 Sold so far. Today I sold my lovely V8 BMW M3 which is my most expensive car sold to date at 19k. Taken a nice disco as a part exchange in against it which is a beautiful bit of kit but not quite sure where to price it. Phone has been ringing more, emails have been coming in so hopefully a good weekend is in store.
  9. Anything like that for me modified seems to sit for ages and not shift. I try to put back to standard or shift cheap as chips where I can.
  10. Are cars not going to break straight away? You will need a warranty process from day 1. Are you not going to need to take card payments straight away? Cash is potentially ok selling cars up to £1000 - £1500 any more and people want to pay on card. We take barely any cash through our business hardly anyone pays that way.
  11. This selling cars is all a numbers game. You get a bad one every so often and there is nothing you can do. You did the right and decent thing and acted honestly. Good on you because plenty of our trade competitors would not. These things happen, not very often and it is the game we all play.
  12. I think hearing from people whether that is dealers doing it right or companies offering their service regarding marketing the business specifically on facebook would be great.
  13. Absolute nightmare very rare for us to get into that sort of situation. Customer has not been the most patient. Even worse when it goes into main dealer and they are less than useless. I have zero faith in our local Vauxhall dealership. Good to hear you are selling See cars - just ahead of me sat on 32 cars here.
  14. Think we have cracked the insignia. Faulty PCV - been tearing hair out on this one.
  15. Laguna has now sold. having a nightmare with a petrol insignia 1.8 this week it's been brought back to us with an eml and we have replaced loads of parts on it all with no success. Fuel trim lean. Code p0170. main dealers suggest the dip stick may have been a bit loose and cleared codes and said it was fine. It isn't code has come back. Car has been running and driving completely fine with no issues other than the eml pops on.
  16. If you wax cars I can recommend buying a tin of collinite 476s the best stuff out there and a little goes a hell of a long way. Once you have cleaned cars and then applied that all they need is hosing off again. Very good product and cheaper than most out there. Last's ages I would have thought you can do between 50 and 70+ cars with a large tin £26 approx. Autosmart stuff is OK you can get better elsewhere but on the whole as a one stop shop pretty good. I used to run a couple of hand car wash/valeting businesses so have tried most products out there. Generally comes down to who is using them and getting the right balance of dilution.
  17. clickdealer - £35PW iirc brilliant clean looking websites along with great service. Rate the team there very highly. www.rscarsales.com if you would like to take a look.
  18. Micra will shift just cos of the mileage I would run with that. 1 So far today here. Took a 2010 laguna yesterday quite a good spec 71k with a tom tom etc 150bhp diesel very tidy - anything to watch out for on them or anyone find them a good seller?
  19. Mondingo estate, 2 kugas, Audi A3, RAV4 and an MG ZR px. 6 in the end.
  20. The mind boggles with these warranty companies. Had a customer who purchased a Skoda Octavia from us roughly 7-8 weeks ago. The dash suddenly stopped working which was causing a problem starting the vehicle. Intermittent problems were happening with the wipers all round on the car and airbag warning lights were coming on and off. Anyway we send the dash out to a company who repaired it and had it back quickly, airbag light cleared and was just due to faulty connection and his front wipers were working fine. Rear wiper motor was clearly faulty and the customer had mentioned a bit of a noise in the front of the car. A wheel bearing was playing up. Dash was not covered under warranty so we meet the cost on that no quibbles. We send the claim in to warrantywise who decide to accept the claim for the rear wiper and the wheel bearing but as the claim has happened at the same time they have averaged the cost of parts and labour. I argued this point that these 2 parts are in no way connected but very much a case of computer says no. Although I should consider myself lucky because most claims we have sent recently have been approved. Yes, that really is pretty much why I have been spending 10k a quarter with you so you do cover the components listed if they do fail on used cars. Try arguing the toss but pretty much getting no where. The main thing is if I had said to customer I can fix your dash at my own cost, I can fix your wiper on warranty and if you come back in a week I can fix your wheel bearing then Warrantywise would approve it. Because the 2 unconnected parts have gone at same time they won't it is in the terms and conditions supposedly. Glad I have switched to having my own warranty fund and having policies administered elsewhere.
