  1. That's it Umesh sometimes trying to recreate the buyer journey for how they get to us however for me it can sometimes leave more questions than answers. Always trying to look at ways to be more effective.
  2. Prompted by a recent thread regarding online visibility how many consumers are searching google to find a car or car dealer? My personal experience and that of the buyers who purchase from nearly all come from Autotrader where they are searching for a car, some then view our website and social media and some further savvy customers check for online feedback and reviews on the business. How many customers just get onto google and type in car dealer cheshire and then decide to make the purchase from the first local garage they see? Is there any data for that or statistics? Do any dealers on here have a big google presence and find that drives a lot of business? Interested to hear the thoughts.
  3. I'm with click dealer.websites are great visually, mobile responsive and the team there are all very nice and helpful. No reason to fault them.
  4. What are you doing for a website? with car sales you need one that feeds from somewhere ie autotrader or else you have to add each car manually which is a complete PITA. Basic autotrader Razor site might be a good start.
  5. Is a business plan being created? I would have said around 6-7k following a conversation with our broker on a similar subject.
  6. Don't get a better HPI check than using hpi directly. 2 boxes can be ticked which give cap and glasses figures. You will also be able to offer driveaway insurance aswell.
  7. Does it have to be an Auto? Rav4 petrols I always tend to fly out the door especially clean examples of the older ones. Being a Toyota most of the time they are well serviced so you can afford to be picky on what you buy. Never had one back - Petrol or Diesel which speaks volumes.
  8. You are going to need to take them. what if your part ex is a grade one or 2 equivalent ? you can usually make good money on part exchanges. Most part exchanges that come to me are cheaper than I would pay for them at auction. Considerably. Very valuable revenue stream.
  9. I have always done the bluetooth pairing or had one of the lads do that for customers. I like the idea of setting the home address into the satnav. That is a really nice touch.
  10. It's days like that where it all comes together. Can't beat it.
  11. our card payments are with us the next working day. No one has charged back a car we have sold.
  12. 8 Cars sold today! Best day ever!!! rushed off my feet all day.
  13. First day back from tenerife here for me Steve. 3 sold so far, 2 with deposits on not the worst start. Fairly quiet though not much coming through in terms of leads etc.
  14. Know more rights than the customer. Engine management light came on... was not there when the customer bought the car.
  15. Good point Phil. We have a local broker who I have told to charge a £150 admin fee on any deals they send us. Customer must pay full screen price. They can keep the admin fee. Sent us a few deals now long may it continue.
  16. Used to tell them I had a car sales business dealing with higher end stuff. Needed the full v5 for insurance a it was being driven back on trade insurance. I dont have have a brother. most people do not like to think you are making money off them . Worked for me.
  17. I used to buy privately. you could go to the person, suss if genuine test drive haggle over faults and it teaches good negotiation skills. I used to find adverts on gumtree and ebay that were quite badly written and came up with a story about how the cars were for my brother. People don't like selling you their car if they feel you are going to make money on it. A good clean, good pics and on Autotrader and they sold for more money. Harder to buy at auction as faults can be hidden limited time with the cars etc.
  18. I started with less than that 3 years ago and now have approx 30cars in stock and am selling 30/40+ a month and making a good living. It can be done. No one helped me, no one bailed me out and I have learnt a hell of a lot along the way. I I had another means of income for the first 2 years so never needed to take a penny out. 5k is simply not enough for a full time job.
  19. Does it bring in many leads/sales for you at the moment ? I think you are picking a time of year where it's going to go quiet anyway so may make it hard to measure any results.
  20. Exactly makes no difference to price. Just another excuse to not pay out. we have had a few disputes with them on parts they should cover. We are switching to self administered policies once I get a chance to sort it. Amount we are spending with them is mental. Almost 10k in 3 months. Saw no where near that back.
  21. Regardless of history I just put last service only in the warrantywise portal on every car. You out should get some good will out of them if you kick up a fuss.
  22. I use nextgear. We turn our stock quickly and it works for us.
  23. Where in the country are you Paul? That will alter your selection of auctions available. used cars will fall under the vat margin scheme. This means you pay vat on the margin between what you buy the car for and what you sell the car for. Not your profit. Legally you do not have to offer warranty on cars you sell. It helps aid confidence.
