  1. I think hearing from people whether that is dealers doing it right or companies offering their service regarding marketing the business specifically on facebook would be great.
  2. Absolute nightmare very rare for us to get into that sort of situation. Customer has not been the most patient. Even worse when it goes into main dealer and they are less than useless. I have zero faith in our local Vauxhall dealership. Good to hear you are selling See cars - just ahead of me sat on 32 cars here.
  3. Think we have cracked the insignia. Faulty PCV - been tearing hair out on this one.
  4. Laguna has now sold. having a nightmare with a petrol insignia 1.8 this week it's been brought back to us with an eml and we have replaced loads of parts on it all with no success. Fuel trim lean. Code p0170. main dealers suggest the dip stick may have been a bit loose and cleared codes and said it was fine. It isn't code has come back. Car has been running and driving completely fine with no issues other than the eml pops on.
  5. If you wax cars I can recommend buying a tin of collinite 476s the best stuff out there and a little goes a hell of a long way. Once you have cleaned cars and then applied that all they need is hosing off again. Very good product and cheaper than most out there. Last's ages I would have thought you can do between 50 and 70+ cars with a large tin £26 approx. Autosmart stuff is OK you can get better elsewhere but on the whole as a one stop shop pretty good. I used to run a couple of hand car wash/valeting businesses so have tried most products out there. Generally comes down to who is using them and getting the right balance of dilution.
  6. clickdealer - £35PW iirc brilliant clean looking websites along with great service. Rate the team there very highly. www.rscarsales.com if you would like to take a look.
  7. Micra will shift just cos of the mileage I would run with that. 1 So far today here. Took a 2010 laguna yesterday quite a good spec 71k with a tom tom etc 150bhp diesel very tidy - anything to watch out for on them or anyone find them a good seller?
  8. Mondingo estate, 2 kugas, Audi A3, RAV4 and an MG ZR px. 6 in the end.
  9. The mind boggles with these warranty companies. Had a customer who purchased a Skoda Octavia from us roughly 7-8 weeks ago. The dash suddenly stopped working which was causing a problem starting the vehicle. Intermittent problems were happening with the wipers all round on the car and airbag warning lights were coming on and off. Anyway we send the dash out to a company who repaired it and had it back quickly, airbag light cleared and was just due to faulty connection and his front wipers were working fine. Rear wiper motor was clearly faulty and the customer had mentioned a bit of a noise in the front of the car. A wheel bearing was playing up. Dash was not covered under warranty so we meet the cost on that no quibbles. We send the claim in to warrantywise who decide to accept the claim for the rear wiper and the wheel bearing but as the claim has happened at the same time they have averaged the cost of parts and labour. I argued this point that these 2 parts are in no way connected but very much a case of computer says no. Although I should consider myself lucky because most claims we have sent recently have been approved. Yes, that really is pretty much why I have been spending 10k a quarter with you so you do cover the components listed if they do fail on used cars. Try arguing the toss but pretty much getting no where. The main thing is if I had said to customer I can fix your dash at my own cost, I can fix your wiper on warranty and if you come back in a week I can fix your wheel bearing then Warrantywise would approve it. Because the 2 unconnected parts have gone at same time they won't it is in the terms and conditions supposedly. Glad I have switched to having my own warranty fund and having policies administered elsewhere.
  10. Really quietened down this week here. How are the rest of you getting on?
  11. Have any of you done any good saves on test drives to avert customer attention to mouldy seatbelts?
  12. Don't suppose you know of a UK equivalent do you It's not for me its for a friend.
  13. Craigslist is huge here in the UK for selling cars isn't it
  14. I would feel that the warranty obligations on a higher mileage car would be far less and I think most reasonable people would feel the same. Most aftermarket warranties will not cover these high mileage vehicles.
  15. mr Skillawonjker, Sorry its just sold!
  16. Priced accordingly they always sell for us. Certain cars it is not really such an issue ie a mondeo/audi a4 etc Always a struggle shifting a 1.2 corsa taken in px on 198k.
  17. Ive actually been in touch with the local college and an agency called total people today who have set the ball rolling. Fingers crossed, could be a good opportunity for someone. They just need to be able to put up with our existing mechanic now
  18. I would not even entertain questions like that, not really needed.
  19. Completely agree with you here. Small business, cashflow is important and I am more than happy for you to pay for the car and leave it with me for 2 weeks if you like or alternatively start using it right away and I will do the paperwork for you no problem and give you a quick call once the plate transfer has been done and you can switch your plates across anyway. I have not had one person who has ever objected to this or raised it as an issue when I have explained the reasoning behind it.
  20. I just charge them the 80 and do it for them say will call you when the new logbook comes through and you can swap the plates over. Speeds things up.
  21. He buys them off roadside traders I met him there when I was stocking up keep it quiet 3 today here, couple of finance declines who I could place sub prime but the payments were to high. Loads of test drive time wasters who have just come out and first question can I drive it, we have 6 more to look at.
  22. Motors for me nowhere near the volume of autotrader but do get calls and enquiries off it. Had a bit of a boost in motors sales/enquiries since back from Xmas not sure if maybe they are doing a bit of a push on advertising. from others I have spoken with it is now better than when first launched.
  23. I am open 7 days a week. I open 08:30 til 7pm monday to Friday, 9-6 Saturday and 10-4 Sunday. I regularly stay late to do deals or have customers pick up cars. I personally work 7 days total last year in 12 months I had 14 days off. I easy do 100 hours a week and have personally experienced great growth through my own hard work and dedication. If you want to play at it and juggle the 9-5 with selling a few cars you are no threat to me. I am open when you are working at your day job. Part timer with no/little reviews or online presence is not working hard to maintain the reputation and feedback we/us have gained. I tell you what really gets me annoyed and it really boils my P!55...Its the faces that are at the auctions running businesses with premises and 10+ cars in stock at any time easily operating beyond the vat threshold who are NOT vat registered. They are direct competition to any of us 'proper/fulltime/legit traders'. They hurt us. And also these are the ones who don't give a hoot about warranty and obligations.
  24. Based in Cheshire Phil - I was'nt sure if you just start asking the colleges or if there is an organisation that deals with placing trainees etc. Tried a few google searches but conflicting information seems to be there.
