A lot of those headline deals at main dealers are on boggo models so then they get you in and for a grand down plus 25 a month more you get the SXI - S Line etc... it’s get you through the door stuff mainly. They can’t do simple maths. Want 5 year hp with £0 deposit and expect a car for less than the total purchase price before interest. that being said with nice stock you can offer attractive pcp deals to suit cars with strong residuals and market them strongly.

I had my first "my mate will come and inspect it"

Having watched your video and seen the moving around of cars I don’t blame you. Most buyers aren’t fixated on the test drive at all it’s not a priority’s its just the time wasters who want to. -
It’s very interesting you say that - I have full capacacity to ramp up workshop and employ another mechanic and have often considered it but justness never really seen it through. Money is good in these sort of jobs and I think it’s definitely something I want to explore in the new year also.

Should have hit close to 50. scraped just over 30. Positive was that we had good profits in them but overall it was a tough month and I would say our quietest of the year. November and Decemeber were strong last year so lets hope we see the same Again.

Just run it off a lampost or something else nearby dead easy to do.

You have 2 problems. The broker and the finance company don't understand the CRA and want all responsibility handing back to you. You have signed an agreement or dealer declaration when dealing with advantage. The customer is not going to make a reasonable deduction because they don't have a pot to piss in. The broker or Advantage may allow for a goodwill payment to you if you can defend your position. Being right and knowing your position is one thing if you don't play ball and jump through their hoops they will tell you they won't work with you again so pick how you want to play it.

I would love one and ideally head to destinations with no phone signal and some mountains, but when would I ever get time for weekends or days off. I think the way they barely depreciate is the key. -

Quite right mate, wouldn't get out of bed for that. Game of averages as we know. -

Are you happy making best part of 50k a year having days off and time off and prepared to trade it all to earn very little in the first few years but potentially earn much more long term but sacrificing holiday, days off, family events, sleep etc.... If you are going to walk away from a good job you need to really be behind it for 80/100 hours a week 7 days.

Still good sellers, some models have issues the same can be said about anything just have to buy right.

Its dead here today. Utterly dead.

It was not broken at the time of sale. It has been fine for many hundreds / thousands of miles and you gave a 3 month / 3000 mile warranty. That being said it would not feel great for you if you bought a car and suffered a catastrophic failing a few months after purchased and were left with a choice of scrap of a repair for several thousands. Best solution would be keep customer on side, offer to inspect and try to fight her corner with BMW ( age / mileage / history dependent). Some customers have had goodwill from main agents.

@James Bush is that way

I think you aren’t missing a trick too Nik. If it isn’t working and you aren’t seeing the results just yet have a look at a few of the quick 1 minute Instagram and Facebook ones I do that result in sales’s mostly on finance. You can mention in video the low rates you offer, the same day drive away all the stuff that can help capture those customers on the well equipped cars. If it’s not working just yet it might just be they aren’t quite right when you crack it It will pay off massively mate.

Any recommendations-mechanic in St.Albans (Herts) for a customer.
Rory RSC replied to NOACROSS's topic in General Dealer Chat
That is the benefit of this set up when Traders work together. Nik is a top guy. -
Its great isn't it. My favourite is when they leave and say let us know if someone else is interested.....Sure just gonna tell the customer who does not struggle to make decisions that the car he wants to stick his card in the machine and buy and drive away now to hang on while I ring and check with you Gordon..

We finally got out of an RS4 we had in stock for almost a year. Trader from down south bought it. Knocked them £1500 just to see it gone. Proper garage all sorts in stock with probably 80/100 cars. Rang back asking if there was anything I can do as when prepping it he needed to replace something....... The most insulting offers I get are not from the Bradford 3am ebayers, it is most certainly traders.
