  2. the internet works on thanks ,ive found, just like ebay,...........just saying, .......have you eventried the hard reset i offered but removed but still offered by other members free of charge but now its on a public forum you cant nick one when it shows this fault
  3. when the car sells hold back on sending the new keepers details to dvla for at least a week in case they turn out to be a screamer, ive gone 21st century and do this all online print the confirmation details off attach it to the old v5 that i keep along with my pdi sheets a hpi sheet invoice copy and anything else relevant, this way if anything hits the fan in the next 7 years you have all relevant documentation
  4. quickest way to get interest in a car was always to put sold in it,if i have 2 cars exactly the same i always put sold in one of them otherwise they feel they missed something, you then tell them the car unsold is actually the better car
  5. they are a cracking lump but like so many things these days are built on the edge of their limits,i would only want one with a manufacturers warranty still running,i go back to my post as most people who run cars like these never get them serviced and only get rid when they are advised its on borrowed time
  6. tread carefully if hes suggesting brake failure as trading standards might get involved,i would think for the age mileage it either has a sticky brake that caused the brake problem or because he used the vehicle on a long trip the fluid may have boiled due to being very old, this is the thing with old low mileage cars once they go on a proper run lots of problems occur from weeping hoses to fans failing to tyres blowing out,i too would be wary selling it on a long journey after a pampered life it might be wise to go get it and if you dont want his shitter to work out a deal ie so much knocked off etc or possibly nothing, ignore the get it back to base on the invoice in this case because customers complaining about dangerous cars need action now before their friends advise them down the pub and citizens advice move it up to trading standards...good luck weve all had these problems mine was a mk1 astra 25 years ago the brakes locked on on the a1 as he drove it home,i was there within an hour
  7. maybe this time andymc1973 might thank you guys for going to the trouble of how to usually fix this
  8. so hes hawked it to 50 dealers who said no so now hes trying to offload it to the van market? have you seen the car maybe ill maintained?
  9. yes i went to the closing down sale to buy their recovery truck but it turned out to be a spec lifter i wanted a beaver tail type
  10. more importantly who repaired it what was the damage and has half the dashboard been repaired properly or does it have resisters behind the pad these german cars dashboards go to lithuania/poland for reconditioning i would strongly suggest as its cat s ie structural damage you keep away because this categorisation is less than a year old so it was a high value write off
  11. if you mint the car out of its tree then if its a wanted car rather than suits you sir the first genuine person who has been trawling round pitches for a couple of days breathes a sigh of relief and gives you a sale thing is once minted it only needs a quick wash and a dust out if its still there 4 weeks later mirror image from autosmart goes a long way too
  12. there used to be a ford dealer at seaham and i always seemed to buy a lot of px from them they were proper nasty rusty underneath, maybe you too have been buying coastal cars too,i would always avoid these if i can but obviously its difficult
  13. and just to confirm the above as they are leaving i like to put a pickaxe in their roof

  15. hi for future reference most things vauxhall usually display a badge telling you this use this to walk on by as Dionne Warwick would say
  16. advertise or die is my motto that car would have been advertised sat night when it was hiding under that tent if i had my wonga in it i told you last night to see what others use in your area if you read my post you would have a fairly good idea where this will sell from as it is a local car for local people, i might if i was a doorstopper tax and insure it up and plonk it somewhere highly visible with for sale in it and a second sim gif gaf card to gauge any response you get, watch out if any local mafia object though and kick the car but then for me this job is a hobby im a silent millionaire
  17. ok yes thats a bit pathetic but in the bigger picture and to be fair to Andy thank you for taking the time to get some clarification and i look forward to seeing some further details from these govt depts in writing
  18. or a nice thai girl who must own her own boat please send pictures of boat
  19. look at the windscreen can you see a sold sign hanging there if yes buy it if no move on dacia by the way is the new car of choice i noticed in spain but i guess they like value over badge snobbery
  20. its a vauxhall what more is there to say,if it does have the paper mashins filter be sure to clean all the sludge out of there too
  21. it might be best if you do the maintenance then so as to keep everything in good order, you dont say what year or model it is but a lot of older models still need their npples greasing on the swivels and trunnions so it might be best to look into this,be aware some models are very high maintenance so consider this too as you wont be covered if its a business to business transaction
  22. would you give a warranty in these circumstances
  23. the alto is a car that your customer would not travel far to purchase so the best medium is the one that works best for your area ie look on ebay then autotrader use your own postcode put in 10 miles max and see where most traders sell their wares for something like this ie a tight coffin dodger
  24. call me crazy but i wouldnt sell they usually come back in agreement and then give you their trust too if they dont come back i feel i missed a bullet and anyway the car sold to a lovely little retired lady with white hair
