  1. I used Cargoes for years but then moved onto Movex as the prices were better. Then Moves started charging monthly fees and also £2.50 per job so it was no cheaper. As Movex is just the middle man I just chose two companies who'd gave me good service and approached them direct cutting out the middle man and saving us both money. Worked great in the end.
  2. David that job should be £45 plus VAT
  3. Got offered £3.5k on a £5390 X-Type this morning. Ebay nutcase.
  4. Got space for 8-9 cars myself. Can't seem to buy much at all. Got a gold V50 estate yesterday but that's it. Did manage to buy a Leon 1.4 FR and a Grand Vitara privately last week which has helped.
  5. 2 today, one proper deal and one cheapie pex that went on Ebay.
  6. Two fresh ones this afternoon Not heard from 'pending' though
  7. 1 today, 4 collections and 1 pending.
  8. enough to cover 6 months tax on his new Insignia lol
  9. I know, madness. Still on the original clutch too! Blokes had it since 7 weeks old.
  10. Got a Vx Vectra 1.8 exclusiv on a 2007/57 coming in part chop on Saturday morning 217k record for a Vauxhall in my experience. Autotrader guide retail £890 btw
  11. I hold 30-40 on my own Do between 20-35 a month. My weekly tasks Buying Paying for vehicles Arranging delivery (be it myself it within an hour or sorting delivery company) Advertising Answering emails & phone calls Warranty Claims Selling cars to customers and valuing part exhanges Preparing Cars once sold or for sale, logistics of MOT's servicing and repairs Ordering stock for valeting bits and bobs for cars. Keeping basic accounts to present to accountant Work out vat every quarter and pay it *sob* Maintaining stock book daily Post on car dealer forum think thats about it - quite a lot when you look at it lol I have one staff member here in the week 9.30-5.30 and someone to help with Saturdays for collections and sales, so 2 technically. I now only open Sunday by appointment but for the first 14 months I worked 7 days but it was getting too much. Try to buy all cars online or via public where possible. We've been doing a bit of valeting this year and Ive bought 3-4 cars this way actually.

  14. On 6 so far this month, doesn't feel great though. Flat.
  15. They've always been okay with me. Paid out for a few clutches over the years and reduction for wrong mileage. always in the form of credit against next purchase, mind.
  16. Managed 3 in 2 days, relatively happy with that. Got couple of issues with cars though that are worrying me. Don't want them to turn into money pits.
  17. 2 this afternoon and got one hopefully line up for tomorrow
  18. I've never really known a dead December - always done enough deals but this one is something else, not even on double figures yet. I'm trying not to panic but nothing is happening. Except time wasters.
  19. Just bought a mini clubman from a private local customer. Black, cooper, heated leather, sunroof. 86k but 9 stamps on a 57. Likely to be good news? Never had a clubman before. Nice condition.
  20. Done a deal today. Woohoo Still dead though. Phones ringing but reckon 80% of viewings are no showing - maybe more. Had a few crazies too, sold one a car for £1990 16 months ago would we buy it back today for £1600? Then a p/ex Corsa 2005 1.2 102k. Had a bodykit on it then removed and the holes are still there. Clunky steering and noisy chain. MOT up in Feb. They paid £1300 in February this year so can't let it go for less than £750. It was £250 at most! Nothing you can do when it goes like this except ride it out.
