    Id just write the reference number from log book on invoice, if they want to tax it ,don't give em no paperwork unless they've paid in full.

    I just chuck one on the dash , dont bother with one at back of motor, to be honest it pisses me off, they should lapse the trade plate laws a bit for us seeing as we dont get motors with tax left on em to smoke no more , as if the job ain't hard enough at the minute.

    Why would you ..every car I've driven for years would come up as no current keeper, as long as it's taxed and you've registeted with the MID no problem.... If you did get a tug for a traffic offence and the copper said its not registered to you ,.. Your a trader ..what's the problem

    Bought a van at auction few months back , paid for it got paperwork and one key, hour or so later went to where it was parked to go home and one of the auction workers was moving it to another part of auction car park , asked him why he had a key for it and why I hadn't been given it, he didn't know , couldn't be arsed to go back to thier office and ask so just got the key off him and went ... I know my little story don't help you , just gets you thinking if they do it deliberate for some reason .

    Hello James, our cars are under 5 grand, I know other traders that sell dearer bits on there and do ok , don't get me wrong if AT didn't take the piss with their prices and price hikes would be on there as well.... for the money Ebay charge you can't not be on there.

    We hold a car nicked by use of a nicked credit card, fellow actually came to site , and rang his dad who paid for car over phone, card machine was all new to us then, a lesson learnt as they say . Any way long story short, 3 weeks later the card people took the money out of our account and we had no car either, did get car back via the police , but it took nearly a year. And get this , rang our insurance when it all hit the fan and they said they would not pay out cause it was theft by trickery lol,... Surely theft is theft.. Most we take over phone now is £200 for deposits We try and talk em out of using cards to pay balance the 3% charge normal,does it.

    If some one comes to look at a car clutching a Parkers guide there is a good chance you are going to waste an hour of your life... Be prepared for a lot of questions ( most of em pointless ) and keep a close eye on him , don't leave him alone with the car , he'll have his magnet out of his pocket quicker than you can say ..."one lady owner"

    Up the VAT threshold and lapse the laws on the use of trade plates ....seeing as now we are not going to get any cars bought in or taken on P/X with a bit of tax on to smoke.

    He knows there is money owing .. He just got lucky that you didn't HPI , it .... This type of thing makes me mad , if boot was on the other foot , you would have trading standards and all sorts of threats being made in your direction , is there no legal route you can go down, perhaps a letter to him from a solicitor asking for proof he paid loan off and a threat of legal action against him .

    If some one is bidding £1300 off your advertised price then yeh they are an idiot, a tryer but an idiot none the less, especially when the car is reasonably priced in the first place.. Would be nice to have £1300 profit on every car we buy, I'm sure they think we get given the cars.

    First off, hello every one just joined forum... Autotrader, a subject that gets my back up , we gave them the elbow a year or so back, constant price hikes, with the excuse we would get more for our money blah blah blah, we was paying them £800/£900 a month , we are with ebay motors pro and auto exchange now, where we can advertise all our stock usually 20 ish cars not 11 which we got with Autotrader, Ebay motors is £130 a month Auto exchange is £90 ... And we are selling as many cars as we was with AT .... No brainer
