As far as I understand the rules now if it's within the first 30 days of the date you sold it , the punter has to prove the fault was there at point of sale , after 30 days you have to prove it wasn't there. If you did have to give money back I reckon it would be down to you to collect it it was obviously ok at point of sale or he wouldn't of bought it, my advice ..help him out with in reason , (depending on his attitude ) don't roll over to easy.

Any one had any problems shifting the Zafiras that could be affected with the catching fire problem, I know it's only the ones with electronic climate control or no air con at all, but you know the public ...

Had the same thing on a 07 diesel focus, limp mode, lights on dash, wouldn't start then it would, ... It was the clock set , common fault on them, had to take clocks out and get a firm to repair them, car was fine after that . mine would not turn over either sometimes

Prefer cash..... We will take a cheque etc, obviously subject to clearing, we do take cards as well , charge punter 3% , normally puts em off using it, there is a cash machine in shop next door to us which is handy so they can go and get their dipper from there. I mentioned the charge back with a credit card as none of us have got a crystal ball , we don't know if a car will go wrong or the punter will turn into a complete aresole, it's just another thing that could cause you a headache.

Card machines..... Punter drives off in your car while you got to wait 3 days for funds to clear ... £5000 car they pay a deposit of £100 pound by credit card, they start whinging about car and get totally unreasonable, credit card company can do a charge back and take the whole £5000 off you !

So you was buying as a private man so they would not think you was making money on them ? Did you put them in your brothers name , wait for the log books to come back with another owner on them ? ive bought private on occasion just told em I was trade , no problems
