You have nailed it Mate, can't understand why any group would use them for remarketing. We used to use them 20 years ago, when I worked for a large group and they were terrible.

Oil consumption?

If the quality stock doesn’t go to CINCH, they will now go to Marshalls, I think.

how much can you deduct, for a refund

Out of interest how many miles had they done in their 10 year old Mini? -
BCA-CINCH-WBAC-Marshalls = conflict of interest.
-
How then do you deal with them slagging you off online?
-
Car vertical should be able to give u the info?

Depending on the profile of stock at least 30%.

There are more lies told by punters than there ever are by dealers. The old trick of value the car agree the deal and when they come to trade in and pick the new car up, the tyres have mysteriously lost 5mm of tread.
-
Agreed @BHM, don’t forget they need stock for CINCH too, so we can listen to that illiterate twat on their ad.

This must be the champion of PITA customers, what does he expect from a 10+ year old Range Rover:
-
I would have thought you would have been in pole position to buy the customers car, match the price and no need to pay for the valet. Humans are lazy and always take the route of least resistance. You should also engage with local car dealers and get a referral fee from them for directing cars to them. There are many companies wanting to buy cars and WBAC don’t pay on the same day I believe.

They own Cinch and BCA Mate, so I think you can figure out the rest.

On the subject of clothing, I took over a prestige dealership more than 20 years ago and my first complaint was from a customer with the most expensive car in the range (£100K+). He was a big hitter in the city and upon receiving his complaint letter, I called him. Explained I had just taken over and I would resolve his complaint. He then explained to me he had bought the car from the dealership I had taken over as he had dressed in his best gardening clothes and ours was the only dealership that didn’t ignore him. A couple of years earlier, I was in dealership on a Sunday, unusual in itself, and this old banger pulled up on the forecourt. 3 sales people in duty, 2 fled when they saw the car, with the exception of my gay sales guy, top lad he was. He welcomed them to the business and asked how he could assist them, they informed they won the lottery last night and proceeded to buy a very expensive car. The faces on the other sales guys I can still picture

I don't know what the car is, I'm shocked you sent her to WBAC tbf!
-
I think you need to send something with is fair and reasonable to all parties, which must be clear and transparent. I think most customers purchasing a sports or luxury car would want to get it up to motorway speeds at least? The 1.5% for cash, this for actual cash not a bank transfer?

This is a serious issue for both the industry and car owners: https://www.am-online.com/news/aftersales/2022/02/01/nearly-50-000-technicians-yet-to-complete-mot-annual-assessment This takes around 3 hours annually and employers and employees need to get on with it IMHO. Thoughts?

Firstly what is a PITA (piss taker)? From my perspective you did nothing wrong and went further than you should without a deposit and affectively had a bit of dead stock whilst you were pandering to his every whim. My Grandfather used to say more than 50 years ago "some of the best deals you do, are the ones you don't do", very true in this case.

They seem to make lots of noise about diversity and training of techs to work on electric cars, but nobody seems to take any notice: https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/imi-task-force-publishes-early-recommendations-to-improve-diversity-in-automotive-industry/250749 What are your thoughts Guys?

May I echo the comments of @umesh

I think once they have completed the purchase of Marshall's there will be a push back from a lot of the groups. Naturally the leasing companies may support them, but of your a group you have to question when they have Marshall's, CINCH, WBAC & BCA you are feeding the competition? Legally if they have misdescribed the car, they don't have a leg to stand on.

So with the proposed take over of Marchalls, who have 169 Franchised Dealers, the valuation is less than 1/2 of Cazoo? Has the world gone mad!
