This reminded me of back in the day, perhaps late 90s early 2000s. A guy at manheim (nca) Colchester. Short dark haired guy, always had new bright white trainers. Stood there in the hall all day long buying everything at the daytime sales. Never saw him out looking at anything either. Just stood there nodding? Must have bought 100s a week? As I remember the auctioneer at the time was an older guy, fair hair used to say stuff like “up we go again” when a car in and “...this for the sporting gentleman”

I appreciate that, but the dealers were closed because of government guidance not to be bloody minded to you. To be honest I’d reckon they are champing at the but to get your car to you! Makes sure they replace the battery!

I know I bang on about this, but physical auctions have now had another nail in their coffin! They’ve always wanted us to sit at home buying, it suits them completely. I’m just amazed that auction houses have been slow to stick it on us. It will be interesting to see how bothered they are about physical auctions now they have a great opportunity like this to change everything?

I’m 58 with heart failure and hypertension. I’m one of those people being ‘shielded’ at home. If I catch it I will die. I’m not going anywhere near a hospital for as long as possible!

It appears that they would rather people return to work on a bike rather than use their car. I’m guessing it’s ok to buy a new car though?
