  1. Bollingtons are winning the race at the As we enter the last furlong! Last year I was still ‘negotiating’ on the day the policy expired at 12 noon!
  2. I’ve got arthritis? Will bca let me have cars for free too?
  3. Can anyone make a recommendation. My usual suspects have all let me down this week by promising to call and 'forgetting'. Nobody seems to want my money? So any recommendations? Cheers
  4. My daughter watches a YouTube channel where the family are touring Spain towing a caravan with a disco. It’s a year old, and in bits in a Spanish garage after blowing its engine? £20k bill! A year old!! Come on?
  5. Can some kind person tell me if there's a site that would give me an 'as built' spec for BMW from the vin/reg number? In the way that Ford ETIS works? If there is anything?
  6. .... and they really don't see it do they? Yes to the above. And my own problem was the HM GRO. I have recently had to apply for a duplicate death certificate for a friend. This process is quite straightforward, involving me obtaining the correct ref numbers, name etc and paying £11 (a premium service is available?). Seven to ten working days was fine? But to blame CV for the delay, which turned into nearly three weeks, is lame! How many people does it take to sit at a computer station, type in my code and place a death certificate blank in the printer? The envelope is 'franked', addressed and posted automatically. Nobody has to lick a stamp or walk down to the post room at 5pm? Maybe i'm being tough of them?
  7. Coronavirus is now the most popular excuse for bad/poor/slow/unhelpful service. Even computers run slower because of coronavirus? Who’d have thought it?
  8. The last decent shoguns were the ones with a separate chassis.
  9. I was on manheim Thursday night. One of the regular ‘banger buyers’ was kicking off because his bid didn’t win this particular car, a couple of hundred quid banger? In the end the auctioneer ran it through again? Really?
  10. How can they not know? A website is a way of extracting information. Same applies to cars on ‘watch list’. The auction houses know the cars we look at. They have their own up to the minute list of cars that are ‘hot to trot’! And they can adjust their reserves accordingly.
  11. Personally, I think they had all this planned anyway to happen at some point in the future. All the elements were there. The virus has merely forced their hand. They’re in no hurry to return to ‘normal’. i think bca we’re still accepting cash prior to covid so all those cash only no paper trail guys won’t be buying. Or at least they’ll need a ‘straight’ account?
  12. Just as an aside, I’d get used to it. It’s going to be the shape of things at auctions. The big auction houses are enjoying the extra ‘control’ over bidding. I don’t think we’ll see a return to physical auctions any time soon? Why would they, this current situation is manner from heaven. They’ve eliminated the bottom feeders, cash buyers, the ‘no shows’ at the payment office. It’s an all round win for auctions isn’t it?
  13. Sometimes they left a radar detector on the sun visor? Shouting at you in Japanese when drove past a Mac Donald’s! Ha! And obviously who could forget BIMTA certificates! Lol
  14. We used to sell loads of pajero’s (and yes I know what it means In Mexican or whatever). Again, fog light, speedo and radio band expander. They used fly out back then! 7 seats, dual climate and all that leather! Fun times
  15. The problem is that the dirt gets buried into the scratch. If you have a chip or scratch you 'must' deal with it ASAP. A shitty scratched screen is such a turn off at sale time, like having a dent in the bonnet.
  16. Well usually everyone thinks that buying cheaper cars is the answer, so if that’s your area you’ll be getting more competition? Guys that a few years ago would have poked fun at you for selling £2k focus will now clammer for one! Lol
  17. Isn’t schmee the heir to the burton tailoring business? i was thinking more of tgetv, Tom exton. Who apart from having a well paid city job has a large car collection that is mostly on finance.
  18. Just out of curiosity. Who are the guys that lend these UK car youtubers huge amounts to buy super cars. Without naming names. One or two guys on YouTube have sufficient ‘family money’ to back up any debt. But there’s at least one ‘working’ guy with a garage full of exotic cars all on finance. I don’t know how he sleeps at night? Are those specialist lenders sleeping easy too?
  19. And boy are the auctions going to be making the most out of this situation? “Manna from heaven”
  20. Don’t forget, punters are on the same cliff edge! There’s a recession on the way.
  21. Car manufacturers are very powerful lobbyists?
