Id say about £800 all in in give or take well at garage labour rates thats probably trade prices mark the garage will have a mark up on parts also i pay 14 pound a gallon of good 5w30 and the golfs probably on long life oil

Ive only had a couple of fails there one it was for a broken headlight that couldnt be adjusted and tyre wrong size on same axle should have wore my glasses that day lol and one on a brake hose although i know of one place who does a cheap mot fails it then charges a retest .

Thats what i would do mind do what i said though ..
