  3. I bought one it just said said serviced to manufacture standards in the book and they marked that as a stamp was an on older car so I never bothered with a follow up but just shows it happens
  4. And there will be many more on the road ... as a previous poster said many from pre 2016

I get you you looked at it and the thought just popped into your head i know now it cant be done but i have a good reg on a an old vintage tractor thts been in the family years and one day had a thought i wonder if there is any way to transfers that which i came to conclusion there isn't your certainly not a complete and utter moron having a thought and asking about it if you don't ask the question you will never get the answer .

  7. Dont do it it will come back and bite you in the arse
  8. Cool mate thanks just wasn't sure about the eBay purchase that was all but guess its just like a normal transfer done in the same way
  9. Mark I was looking at buying a gift number plate from eBay if I buy it at handy money put me down as the nominee when bought from the seller when I decide to transfer to the recipient it's just a matter of me paying the £80 to change the nominee I'm I correct I think but just checking only ever done then from customers or bought from newreg regtransfers etc who transferred never as a gift from an eBay private seller
  10. That was my point mark just registered both car and plate in company name simples
  11. I would say it wouldn't be insured if it was in his personal name cause the insurance company could argue its not just for business use then if you are a sole trader can you not put it in the company name then you could argue that everyone on the policy uses the car for only business use only ..
  12. Whos the alternative out of interest
  13. Aw right thanks for clearing that up .and I do get that I'll be honest I only scanned through whilst doing other things Although all I really was saying was I'm sure over the years many cat bs have been put back on the road maybe not in recent years but as tradex said they will be many on the road I remember reading an article years ago about them trying hard to stop loop holes etc so guess it working which I guess isn't a bad thing really ..
  14. My previous policy was unlimited personal vehicles up to a value for all it stated it on the policy .. though the most I ever had on it was about 6
  15. Remember Mark TVs said the same thing about a Range Rover so it does happen occasionally but I wouldn't get involved
  16. Get what your saying 100 percent thats why we pay insurance .
  17. If one has taken your name off the insurance i couldn't work with them Again its a bit harsh of them to do that without discussing it with you and could have got you into serious trouble surely they could have had the decency to let you know in a business partnership you take good with the bad together if either they two had the accident how would you have felt about the 3k increase which seems high anyway so would have been pricing my insurance else where though if i couldn't get a cheaper Quote i still would have stuck by my two business partners and taken the hit I've been in situations before where I've been in partnerships with one some times two business partners one of the businesses i was involved with had 4 altogether we all made mistakes from time to time maybe bought a car with faults etc but we all stuck together no matter what And still all work together on a regular basis . At times staff maybe crashed a car etc which put the Insurance up a bit we didn't sack the staff for what was after all a genuine accident..
  18. Yes luckily I'm a regular on that road its on the way home from my work place she must have hit it at speed Thats it exactly
  19. Haha seen it last week 420 i bmw in the middle of a puddle with the lady driver turning it over funny thing is the old diesel vectra px i was driving at the time ploughed through it no probs
  20. I agree with everything awc has said here it all makes sense . Also this is the case too as lakeside said it could take months for the damage to truly show corrosion in Ecu connections I was also told they do it by an insurer assessor and owner of a large breakers that deals in a lot of cat cars that's there health implications of bacteria in the dirty water etc
  21. There's also the factors involved in car hire costs etc I know of a claim where the damage to the car was £200 but the total value of the claim was 2.5 k with. Cost of a like for like vehicle etc also some Insurance companies offer new for old if the car is under a year old and also with gap insurance etc I guess some would argue they wanted a new car rather than there 11 month old one repaired doesn't explain the b cat though and I would more likely to think its to do with the time spend in the flood water before recovery ..
  22. Yes mate see a lot of people using them who supplies them Ive seen then online at a few places ..
