  1. We had a similar issue recently for another trader but everyone told us to avoid attempting to replace the hg, it did end up going to Ford and getting sorted, I don’t think it was under warranty though
  2. Yes you can do it on the deck I don’t doubt that, but it makes the job ten times harder, unless your jack is really really high it would be hard to get the space to get a lever in to check play in rear axle bushes, front suspension arms. You struggle to get the angle on your arms to check for play in droplinks etc.
  3. I don’t think you should be doing pdi’s at all unless your a competent mechanic. An mot is a minimum standard which we as motor trade should not be selling cars at. We should be selling cars at least part of the way between mot standard and service standard.
  4. Really bad for water pumps
  5. Much appreciated that’s one I owe you!
  6. Good listen guys! Got a chance to listen in the truck on the way back from delivering 2 cars. Good to hear a few different ways of thinking about things regarding distance selling.
  7. Can anyone help me out with a valuation for 2 vans please? first is a Renault traffic OO03 URO with 44k miles second is a sprinter Luton sc65 czk with 131k many Thanks and some virtual beer tokens
  8. Also does anyone have a copy of the relevant paperwork regarding right to cancel etc?
  9. I think warranty wise are twats IMO, we find the rac to be really good.
  10. My latest px gold enquiry is this: 2010 Renault traffic minibus with rear seats removed to make it a van, no service history, ex Heathrow taxi with a mere 400k miles but he promises he has just spent £1500 on it this year. Wonder how much he thinks it’s worth
  11. Wonder how many people have been badly stung with that though realising fixing accident damaged stuff isn’t as easy as it looks.
  12. I think £200 is more than generous, it’s £150 more than I’d of went
  13. No doubt it will also be suffering from the usual rattling vvt pulleys aswell.
  14. If anyone needs anything brought down then give me a message. Cheers
  15. Were you open and honest selling as a trader? Did you sell the car with a fresh mot? If so then is any of the rust structural?
  16. Sticking flaps in the heater box perhaps?
  17. Only thing I have noticed is when I click the forums it says the previous posts were over a day ago when clearly they aren’t?
  18. I’d be kicking off with that aswell mate, if it’s a non runner it’s their issue. I mean look at the issue with the x5 I sold through central that didn’t start afterwards.
  19. We just usually get upholstery repairs done, usually only £60 or so, the mk5 golf gti side bolsters always used to need done!
  20. James Glen is on this forum thought not seen him in a while @JimmyGlen
  21. The customer doesn’t send off the new keeper slip, they just keep it till the new v5c arrives
  22. Actually ok for us, I miss the actually going to the auctions though and getting to socialise slightly, it meant an afternoon out of the workshop but in the same respect it’s much easier for me to buy 5 or 6 through the course of the week from whatever site and then just send the truck out one day a week for collections. Had my first proper lemon though a nice ML with a blatantly knocking bottom end but thankfully managed to get a refund fairly easily.
