Well I can see where their coming from, I was planning on buying myself something fancy soon from a main dealer but due to my businesses entering unchartered waters I am holding off on this till normal life resumes and I’m sure the majority of people will be in a similar situation that said I think the cheaper end of the market will increase. people not wanting to renew £500pm Bmw pcp deals may flock to cheap tuna rounds for the interim period.

I can’t believe how much oil and ad blue the new transit customs take! Makes servicing them really expensive!

Great gearboxes too! Never any issues!

Your a roaster, you can’t say Chinese people are being subject to racist abuse then making what could be deemed as derogatory racist remarks about Scottish people. Away and have some bat soup -

What was your best ever sale and why?
MarkTVS replied to James Baggott's topic in General Dealer Chat
Thanks Casper, we were offered alternative dates later this year but we prefer summer so just put it off till May next year now. Means less stress trying to pay for it all as costs for it have rather spiralled out of control as is to be expected when a woman is choosing stuff. On that subject though I firmly believe we are in the wrong game. A photographer charging £1600 for a days graft with little to no overheads? We all must be mad doing 70 hour weeks to pay Autotrader and pay vat bills -
What was your best ever sale and why?
MarkTVS replied to James Baggott's topic in General Dealer Chat
Well I suppose the one I have to say was years ago when I first started trading and it was more of a part time hobby, I bought a an ultra blue Corsa C SXI, was a nice low mileage thing had only done 50k Miles, it got delivered off the transporter and then a couple of minutes later a guy comes in asking if it’s for sale as he was looking for a car for his daughter. He wanted a deal and was happy to take it as was so done literally nothing to it and his daughter came in to collect the car. And had it not been for covid 19 I would be getting married next month and the man would be my father in law -
Thanks for the tips guys will get on the phone tomorrow hopefully some places are still open. It’s for one of our own workshop vans so just trying to make the most of the downtime

Who’s good and cheap for doing the repair on the ecu for water ingress? I had normally used ecutesting.co.uk but they just quoted me over £800 I did decline this and just paid their £65 test fee.

Anyone else on a paid package had their direct debit cancelled? I had an email from the bank today saying it’s been cancelled. Does that mean they are following autotraders footsteps?

MOTs for cars, vans and motorcycles / latest

We’re still open and doing Mot’s, very little though. It’s only myself and the apprentice working. He had the option to stay off but he prefers to be in work. -
We are fine for this month an maybe longer but if it does carry on 6 months we’re pumped
-
That is refundable . . . .

Slag all you want but it’s a dog eat dog world and I’ll do what we need to survive this. Only one of my staff at sales is forloughed the other one is continuing to work Doing property maintenance to keep him busy as he is a single guy living alone so as you can imagine 3 weeks of isolation with no friends or family nearby would be torture.
-
Not ideal but in this situation of me and my staff are risking our health it’s a fair deal. We know all our cars drive perfectly. If they want to try out a car first of all then they can rent one from hertz
-
I really don’t see the issue, we make them fully aware of this before they test drive. I am a technician to trade and all our stock is prepared to far higher standards than the majority of other dealers. We don’t usually operate this policy but it’s just to deter time wasters and dreamers. The genuine buyers have no issue with it.
-
We get 50p a brake disc usually, think the guy gets a pretty good deal out of us with that considering most of the discs have are fairly big ones off hot hatches etc
-
Ah do you take them to the scrap yourself? We get the slick back hair and brown shoe brigade into buy them aswell as any cats
-
Its more just to make sure that the viewers aren’t time wasters and to force their hand of commitment. I hate test drives on a normal day as the way out stock layout is numerous cars need moved to get the car out for the test drive and then as a bit of a perfectionist I insist my guys rewash, dry and hoover the car afterwards. I don’t mind if we’re getting a sale but I feel like punching people when before driving they’ve been asked if there in a position to buy today, they say yes then at the end of the test drive have more to see
-
Send your scrap guys down here Casper were only getting a fiver!

You can imagine the quality of customer from cf247, coming up with a fault after a few days then going off on one as workshops are shut so hard to get parts. I hate cf247 and the majority of their council scheme scumbag punters, On a more positive note we managed a sale today. The way we are doing it is by appointment only. In order to get an appointment you have to pay £100 (inspired by the late great ad) which is refundable if you don’t like the car aslong as you show up when your meant to. Only the person buying the car is allowed on our premises. We simply hand them the keys and leave them to it. If they want a test drive as it can’t be accompanied they forfeit the return of their £100 whether the buy it or not and they can take it round the block aslong as they leave the keys for their car and ID on the desk. So one sold and a decent cheap swapper for £300, will keep the wolves away from the door aslong as we can still manage one every fortnight or so.
