  1. Good news for people like us as it should scare people off private sales and push them towards reputable car dealers.
  2. Partly my fault also however for not proof reading the documents they sent through. I have sent an email of complaint though.
  3. Perfect thank you very much that’s beer tokens owed!
  4. Correct! Does it allow you to hpi it?
  5. Autotrader is bring this car up as a golf R32 when it’s a 1 series so it’s not allowing me to do a hpi, any chance someone could check it for me if they have a different system? Kv11gzw thanks in advance
  6. Our broker has made a mistake an had us down as a sole trader even though we have been a Ltd company for years so we had to start again on zero bonus this year and I think we are circa 6k Thats for our 2 units, yard, 2 transporters, two staff for work use, myself and my partner for work and sdp and my brother for work and sdp. Hoping it goes down a bit next year!

  8. To do the job properly to fit the occupancy sensor it is seat out, cloth or leather off it and replace Matt, proper pita job, done it once don’t fancy doing it again, much easier to get a plug in emulator from eBay which just plugs in under the seat
  9. There is a for sale section is there not? Just buy a shite spec one thought and put all the stuff in. weve done decent with a few s3/rs3 ‘s that we’ve broken for spares before, just bought a poverty spec car and made cracking replicas.
  10. A seat Matt emulator off eBay is what you need more than likely!
  11. With the gearbox mounts it’s hard to check them visually but there buttons to buy I think about £40, so probably worth changing it as precaution if it feels like. Mount, are the rest of the engine mounts oil filled? I know they are on my c class so if they are fucked you should be able to see visual leaks from them? Why have your garage diagnoses a chain? What have they found to indicate that? Is there a camshaft/crankshaft correlation fault stored? Have they stripped the engine to allow visual inspection of the chain? Or have they checked the parameters on diagnostic of camshaft position?
  12. I was going to say cunt but grass would do
  13. I would give them to the end of the week to sort it or I’d tell them you want to return the car.
  14. I think I lost about ten k on my r8, in fairness I got more than my original purchase price back but I spent about ten grand on making it different.
  15. Most recent one was a 2014 Audi A6 with 60k miles, bought blind from auction. so far it’s needed a windscreen 2 x front window regulators 3 x 20”tyres sat nav ariel wiring repair for parking sensors Auto gearbox service and repair and software update front brake discs and pads
  16. I just can’t sell wavs quickly they always seem to sit for about 2 months!
  17. David out of interest is your workshop a separate entity? If so do you mind me asking what you bill yourself per hour?
  18. How much are you willing to spend? We have about 5/6 scan tools and no one is perfect at everything. Certain ones are better at certain cars etc. My most commonly used one is an Autel Maxi system. It was circa £1500 but you can get imported ones on eBay for about £700 though I couldn’t tell you if they’re the same or not.
  19. I think it makes the stock look slightly more special and separates us from the gumtree driveway dealers. We got our local sign maker to do them for us and we just use black elastic bands to attach them over the originals for the photos
  20. We have been ticking over this month but sadly none of our heavy hitters have been going more just our cheaper stuff. Today was a good day though with 3 appointments and 3 sales, a nice auto focus (not a powershit) that we’d bought back from an old customer who’d given up driving; an Ibiza that we’d also sold previously and a white insigina elite that I lost money on it due to it needing a gearbox recon, a new clutch and a timing belt with both vvt pulleys. Glad to just be out of it though. We are off until the 6th January officially, I don’t see much point being in as everywhere else is shut, can’t buy stock from auctions, my workshop is closed and our painter is off too. When customers have requested an appointment I have been adding this to the emails; All we ask is at the appointment providing the vehicle is as described please be in a position to either pay for the vehicle or leave a holding deposit. Anyone that just wants a look at a few cars is refused an appointment till we reopen officially unless they are dead very they want to buy. All appointments must also be confirmed an hour prior by phone. It’s working successfully so far in rooting out the time wasters.
  21. Uzzy, are you vat registered? What is your vat registration number? Also your companies house number?
