Where are you based? I might be able to offer some stock SOR if you're local to me?
-
It's £12k-£15k in my book
-
I have done it both ways - "loaned" cars of SOR and "received" cars on SOR It's great (in my experience). Agree the purchase price and as far as anyone is concerned the car is yours (along with all come backs etc) - you simply pay the agreed price to the vendor when you sell or return the vehicle should either party wish but, YOU handle any future responsibilities. Free stock This is the ONLY way it will work and it is a great way to exploit one anothers capacity.

£500? Offer him his money back and scrap it

Had exactly that yesterday - to be fair, neither do I

Car Sourcing, how often do you guys get asked?

Treated exactly the same as a retail stock car just hopefully realising a quicker sale -

I do it and encourage it. I don’t take a deposit or commitment providing it is the type of vehicle I would be happy to stock. The way I look at is this; every car we buy is in the hope we can find a customer within a reasonable timescale. This way, I either have an instant sale or a car I’m happy to stock - what’s the risk? If someone wants a real lump, like a £50k RR - I would ask for £500 deposit, other than that, I’m happy to take the risk providing it fits my profile. -
I will let my wife drive it for a couple of days - it'll be more than reset

"57" plate My mechanic had a quick look and said he had found it on the rack itself. He hasn't had a proper look yet though.
-
I have had the battery replaced and all fault codes reset (completely clear). Parked up for 5 mins and the amber steering light is back on. There is nothing wrong with the steering but it is saying steering angle sensor. I think you have to replace the whole rack for the sake of the sensor??? It drives stright and true, wheel is in the central position, steering is super light (as it should be), it's just the light.
-
Tried that - nothing

My lawyer has just set up on his own due to empoyed salary levels. Fully qualified family lawyer earning less than £40k a year, not everything is as it seems.
-
I have the steering light (amber) on Seat Leon - it did have multiple faults but all sorted except the wheel light. Diagnosis points to a wheel angle sensor? it is working perfectly however, but the battery needs a jump after a couple of days. Mechanic reckons all the faults were due to a battery change and no reset afterwards. Going to fit a new battery today and flash the system again, see what that does for the steering light.

From experience: I left a six figure job (my choice) last July. International travel, expensed car, Hilton or IHG (I do miss the reward points) and a 3 course meal and beer every night and of course the regular salary. I don't regret a thing in leaving. All my mates were jealous of my lifestyle (work) but in truth - staying away from home, eating and drinking (alot) alone and having to be at certain places at a set time (anywhere in the world) - is not all it seems. Once the novelty has worn off, you realise that it is lonely, stressful and boring existence. Do I expect to replace/match my salary, it would be nice but I very much doubt it (may have the odd exceptional month). Then look at the profile of the UK's weathiest - do they all work for someone or do they employ people and/or run their own businesses? there's the answer - we all have the "tools" to do it, no one is better than the next and luck doesn't exist, (cliche alert) - you make your own luck. The point is, be proud that you are making some sort of living, you are not scrounging off benefits. Is it easy, no but you can control your own destiny and that is worth far more (to me anyway) than any corporate employed benefits.
-
Makes no sense - the only people whom are possibly going to have any beef with you are those you sold cars to. Where do you sell them from = home. So what's the point in worrying about your home address appearing on Companies House, as these people will already have your address from when they bought the car?

I have been really quiet and so have the enquiries until today: Sold 2 so far this month then today, sold my Q7, have more or less told someone to go away and think about a Mini I'm selling (I could have nudged them to buy but that's not my style + I'm using it myself) and almost sold that Pug 308 CC (Ebayer never contacted me - surprise) but another guy wants it but now the roof has just malfunctioned despite working faultlessly previously.
-
In my couple of weeks on Shpock, this is how I would sum up (almost knew this anyway). Loads and loads of enquiries through the instant private message thing but............. If Jeremy Kyle owned a advertising portal......wow

Another negative review, whats your take on this

I am considering re-profiling my stock to £3-4k cars. All the lumpy stuff people want finance (I don't have FCA), I have too much tied up in the stuff, so lengthy stock times start to hurt and I don't seem to make any more per deal relative to the outlay. Most people (the ones I want to deal with) can lay their hands on £3-4k or use a CC and the phone rings a lot more for this gear IMO. That's my findings in my limited couple of months trading. -
Lol - I wish My first proper pitch was similar to trade vet: £100 week + minimal rates 25 cars Very little advertising - Ebay + website In a line of 4 other much larger dealerships - their huge adverts pulled customers down the road (one way dual carriageway, so had to drive past me and my cars appeared so much cheaper, because they were) - sold more by passing trade than any advert. That same pitch would be £350 week now (it's now a KFC) and the internet has reduced the passing trade. Having said all that, I would still like a small pitch, with small (double garage sized) unit and ramp for prep but at the moment I cannot justify the additional overheads.

+ 1 Top job = powder coat Budget job = can of silver aerosol, doesn't need much prep for a relatively tidy finish on a cheapie
-
I think I know what you're talking about - good idea but you're wrong - genuine sale (I hope) and I have no idea who the French bidder was (despite my dad living in France, with no Ebay account).
-
He means this....surely
-
That's amazing Simon - I have just looked to see who's winning and saw they were based in France - hopefully this isn't going to turn to rat shit......again. I have had two people say how nice this car is, unfortunately one was my neighbour and the other, my dad. Plenty of watchers but let's see. (I am at break even now)

When I was 28, I thought (divorced with 2 children) that I was old and wise - Now aged 44, I look back at under 30's and realise my many mistakes and how young (and a risk) I was to any insurer, bank or any other organisation. I am sure there are some 60 somethings on here, whom think the same about 44 year olds.
