  1. Depends on the car value vs. customer expectations. Sold a £2,500 - 207 CC (PX) with fault remaining = customer couldn't care less. Got a £6000 - 66k Tiguan with FSH, faulty sensors = I will fix
  2. Speak to Peak Perfromance (Kidderminster) on 01562 745431 - Mark is his name and he is pretty good but also quite busy.
  3. Thanks for the compliment Trade Girl but no thanks for the extra income - I absolutely hate doing paint, it is just a means to an end on my own stock.
  4. I doubt it - it maybe that the door shuts are in original condition because of a lack of exposure but have you never seen a car being painted at the factory? Doors off or at least open and robots applying paint finish. Can't see a robot discriminating between a door shut and a panel. I reckon during re-finishing, door shuts don't get re-lacquered because the doors are shut during masking and possibly they weren't damaged and therefore didn't require and work in the first place. In my experience, a rrepaired panel will have more paint than factory anyway.
  5. No, first profit is the best profit. I sold a Passat on Friday and took his older (2 years older) Passat in chop. It had a full tank, so planning to use it, stuck the dog in the boot and went to handwash next to the place I always take my pictures ready for the net and walk the dog around the park. Thought to myself, I will run this car for a week until the tank is nearly empty - sold it that afternoon, first viewing.
  6. Or exotic cars - Porsche, Mercedes etc

  9. I love vans and have always done well (when I had the pitch) but now I'm a home trader, replacing my 12 or so car stock with vans would be a step too far I fear for the neighbours.
  10. I have often wondered why BCA place all floor mats in the boot of the cars. Is it becuase the carper underneath looks in better nick than the mats (often the mats are new)?

  14. I always (in every aspect of business) deal directly with people. I also sent a letter thanking them for sorting things out. Life is give and take, we all complain about shit but rarely commend when things work out. I try and treat good and bad with the same approach.
  15. Personally, two Assured claims, two payouts - no complaints but I do have a decent relationship with Wolverhampton BCA
