  1. Might be realising the shits about to hit the fan now he's heard from a few of us on here. First time he sends accounts in they are going ask where the stock money came from and how hes going to prove he had it legit . Oh Dear Then of course they will want to know how he earned the 100 k in the bank from his 10 cars a month that he forgot to say anything about . OOPS Two years of pain follows Uzzy as they strip your assets for inspection , trace every payment you EVER made and received inspected your house and contents , locked in rooms and cautioned by Customs and HRMC cant be fun . Then the fines and back tax follows , seen this with a couple i knew and it destroyed them and they were NO where near your level UZZY . Our MOT guy had the same problem , picked him up on one small item and found a few more , assumed he had been doing it for years and broke him . he now works as the MOT guy at the station he once owned 15 years ago . My advice is quit the car game NOW , and hope , you are too far into it with a not declaring it and they will see it when you do decide to go legit . Be better off selling widget grinders on sunday mkts
  2. Now that's a serious reason to cover them up . Took my motor bike for MOT last year and it was cloned , got a visit from plod for racing round Nottingham city at over 120mph and doing wheelies passing traffic , my laughing convinced the copper it wasnt me , he came to take pictures of my bike with only 2 miles on the clock since the MOT so I couldn't of gone to Notts anyway but we all stood laughing at the suggestion i was Pulling wheelies in the city centre I would have believed the 120 mind
  3. About the top and bottom of how it all works that is . always will be too i would think
  4. I simply haven't got time to cover them up even if i thought about it before hand Get them pictured and gone is my my motto
  5. I'll end this year by wishing everyone on here **********A Happy & Prosperous New Year .********** All the very best to you all . Lots of good people on on this forum , long may it continue . Signing off till 2020 David
  6. First thing is PAY your taxes , that's how to become a proper trader . One or two is dipping your toes in but your level of turnover is way over the top to pass the " i'm just starting out lie " The excuse of oh I thought it was all about profit and not turnover for VAT margin rules are laughable Uzzy . Bet Mr VAT man is going to love you in the new year , 20k back tax + double for fines and then HMRC will want a chat too . All the best for new year though .
  7. WOW your VAT bill is going to be massive
  8. My system entirely Mark , They don't come back then do they . Just sold a lady the third car in 18months today , She had one for her son , then her husband bought one and today her daughters first car . Don't do that if they ain't right when they leave . Evans halshaw had the same car £400 cheaper she said but it wasn't serviced , wasn't cleaned and the scratches were wear and tear for the year she was told Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten
  9. I have two sites , one selling heavier priced stock one selling nice first timer cars £3/ 4 k stuff so i get prepped with the cheaper stuff to sell before christmas , quite slow really The heavy stuff walked out this dec , chap walked in yesterday, Hi I've come for that Z4 hope its in stock "75 miles he'd driven" £16,495 , £2,495 dep and 14k on Moto Novo thankyou very much , He had just wrote off his S2000 Honda he said so wanted a new toy , " Happy Christmas I said " Never get it right , never Most finance too . Be a good Coms start to new year So been slow really in actual sales , but margins are very high so happy days .
  10. chin up . Was ok with the kids cos i bought em off road motor bikes , guns , and the likes I take a fast car on a 100 mile 100mph drive cos every one will be full of turkey . I do same on world cup OUT at full power 100 miler at 100mph When i can get out of my christmas chains anyway I got in trouble the other day cos future daughter in law did the chrissy trimmings , trees and every shelf and orifice filled with bloody ribbons and holly and i didnt say OH that's lovely Happy christmas Thanks Casper Happy christmas to you all too . Happy new year and a prosperous one as well
  11. Trade plates are a system of tax for the car you are using for trade purposes , eg taking for repair , testing the car , test drives , use in business purposes They cost £165 a year , you will only get trade plates with proof of trade insurance though . When you get trade plates you then put that trade plate number on your insurance MID then that trade plate is proof of insurance and tax for the car car its displayed in . Simples really . Your question about insurance to park on street is yes you need it , You would need to TAX the car as well , trade plates will not cover street parking for extended periods like overnight . Doesnt matter either if you are a LTD company or sole trader as that has diddly squat to do with anything . Mark . Makes you think about the serious stuff they will get thrown at them doesn't it , My god wait till the VAT margin system sinks home
  12. Down load a V62 online and take to the post office , use that form to tax the car and apply for V5 , sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't , you may need the last keepers post code to make it work . failing that working its snail mail and at worst 4 weeks and over the christmas holidays it may well take 4 weeks +
  13. HAHA reminds me of watching that happen , It gushes doesn't it
  14. I win the Euromillions every week Casper Figured out if I put £2 a week in a jar i win £104 a year every year , got a grand in the jar already so when i retire I'm going to be OK I'm no good at betting Casper , if i put a bet on a horse it would run the wrong way round the track
  15. To Mad Mark ******Heed the above from trade Vet with every word , this is the absolute truth of the motor industry . ***** save up is a good plan before you start . Insurance and trade plates are essential A good idea of the workings of cars is essential too . It can be done as I've made my Son do it the hard way from one car to where he is now . BUT he is a mechanical Genius and was before it all started . You will need to be , a sales man , customer care person , financial advisor , telephone personality , mechanic , valeter , book keeper , warranty genius , very patient at times , be able to work people out as some are horrible nasty bastards , some are normal and some are delightful . It will take an enormous amount of your time up and you have to think of it in a very professional way , its not a job its a life style change There are a lot of additional items you need to keep your self within the regulations and the laws . If you are going to do this job DO IT CORRECTLY . Or not at all .
  16. Can I ask as well , Its never to late to learn
  17. Now that's a million dollar question Richard . What sells this quarter wont sell next , selling cars is like the fashion industry. Certain Makes & models sell better in different parts of the country . What are you qualified to **fix** as all cars have their problems I'll tell you that for sure . All the above is a feeling in the fingers and years of experience . As to where to buy cars from , well the whole country is open to YOU really , There are dealers on here that are Auction experts , Some are private buying experts , Some are like we buy any car types ,Some are Ebay buying experts or face book , some have years of contacts. Where you chose will depend on time served my friend . There is NO rule to the secret you might think that happens
  18. Haha you may find that to be harder than you imagine fella . CHEAP The correct thought process is " EG; how to buy cars that sell and don't come back to bite your wallet when you've sold them . " All the best though with your chosen new venture . Prosperous New Year too
  19. You need a JOB , Feck off and get one , then you haven't got time to bother us either
  20. Didn't get them anywhere though giving free stuff away did it , half of the fools have lost their jobs now They all forgot the basic rule of business is PROFIT They have 5yrs to re learn now
  21. You need a specialist BMW garage for this job not BMW , even with good will they will rip your heart out with the final bill . Lots of specialists will do this job for £1,000 /£1,500 and do it well , not the apprentice at BMW .
  22. Ok so you say the chain was not rattling at 103k , means it must of been changed at some point in its life then . All 09 /11 TSI engines have chain problems , Age and miles are the most obvious signs , rattle on start up is a sign . Lack of oil services is a cause . If as you say the car was serviced AFTER you sold it this could well be the cause of any chain issues , the VAG oil filters have a one way valve and even they must be fitted correctly or oil starvation is imminent, cheap replicas can and do cause the same problem of oil starvation. This in turn will affect the chain and tensioner causing a rattle or even a jump of a tooth . ****Tell this guy it was serviced before it left you "invoice proof i hope " so outside interference " EG his fave garage " is the probable cause of his issues so its out of your hands . **** All the best .
  23. An Audi A3 /GOLF , Skoda /SEAT petrol TSI engine has shit timing chain problems , its the tensioners that will let go at some point then the chain jumps on starting and either it rattles its nuts off or shits the engine .Its a known problem . The faults you posted are correlating to the chain requiring a change . this could have been there after the customer had the service performed , If the garage he used did not fit the correct oil filter it will argevate the chain , if its got the incorrect oil then that will also do the same damage . Assuming this chain wasn't faulty when you sold it , then i would assume the servicing garage may have caused the fault . Its a coincidence beyond belief to have a chain go two weeks after you sold it , shit does happen buy i would think one of the services has caused this chain issue , could have been your service or the service the customer has had done too . If the car has been interfered with by another garage by doing a service then I would point him back to them really . We haven't sold a TSI petrol engine without changing the chain , that's how bad they are , Make sure if you do agree to the chain replacement that it goes to a specialist as they are not an easy job and disaster can occur on start up , . Welcome to the motor trade , Chains are not covered by 90% of warranty companies though and are considered wear and tear items , However good practise is to change the chain if required or Perform a service Correctly on the TSI Petrols The question now is . A; Did it rattle before you sold it . B ; Has some fool who serviced it caused this problem , Either your service or his . IF you sold it private , then tell him to sod off . Simples .
  24. Always get a horse couldn't he or do they fart to much ,as well as cows and sheep . Could walk i suppose , but the lack of cows will delete the amount of leather we use too . Synthetic shoes use oil so they are out , oh well bear skin shoes or reindeer shoes it is then , MMMMMM None of those in the UK . Going to be some weird and wonderful options in a while isn't there . Meantime he wants a V8 Petrol , turn off the radio and have fun before they TAX laughing too . My reply fits this one too
