digital tax scrapped
have a word with the wife replied to have a word with the wife's topic in General Dealer Chat
the new timetable: only businesses with a turnover above the VAT threshold (currently £85,000) will have to keep digital records and only for VAT purposes they will only need to do so from 2019 businesses will not be asked to keep digital records, or to update HMRCquarterly, for other taxes until at least 2020 Making Tax Digital will be available on a voluntary basis for the smallest businesses, and for other taxes. This means that businesses and landlords with a turnover below the VATthreshold will be able to choose when to move to the new digital system. As VAT already requires quarterly returns, no business will need to provide information to HMRC more regularly during this initial phase than they do now. -

In this forum we tend to forget the "lovely people" these are customers that don,t gripe, accept its a used product, and they recommend us to other folk, the cheapest form of advertising, i have met some lovely people in this job, and learnt a lot from them, some of us actually use there services too [ plumbers etc] i have a customer that brings me a bottle of wine every visit for no reason whatsoever, other than hes a decent bloke, my mot station at christmas you cant move in the office for tinned biscuits ! lets face it, if we didnt have these lovely people, we would all jack it tommorow any stories ?

Your right ! unfortunatley this is what the punters think ! should be offered as a ball breaker to a unsure punter at negotiation point !

you specialise so theres no need for a outside company to give you approval. you already know your product inside out. as for breakdown cover, you could offer this as a separate sweetener, to just tip them over into buying your product, which would cost less than £35 from a well known name. the wall plaque is quite tempting though how big is it ? is it metal or plastic ?

Test drives & driving license
have a word with the wife replied to MattGM's topic in General Dealer Chat
my insurance is over 25s, accompanied, you can use the "over 25" only rule to discourage timewasters / unsures, [ if yours is 18+] . Youve done the right thing, your abiding with the law, and its got to be a strict, no, your not insured mate.......... i occasionally ask to see licence, but do forget many a time i hate test drives, not so bad if i am driving, i am in control and it gets away from the pitch for a proper talk, but when they drive, oh my god its hands off steering wheel, speeding, 3rd gear instead of fifth, up and down gearbox for no reason whatsoever [ accompanied by a "sorry" when they hit second instead of fourth ] should have nicked the price board -

one chance at repair in 30days = It is possible to agree with a customer to undertake a repair under warranty you may have sold with the car as that will constitute a contractual repair and so will not count as a statutory repair under the Act. In this instance, you will need to ensure you have the customer’s agreement to conduct any repairs under warranty (preferably in writing) so it is clear it is a contractual warranty repair and not a statutory repair – the difference being only a statutory repair will give rise to the Final Right to Reject. even easier to do if you used your own warranty ..... -
whats the next big thing though ? basic micras ? mint ka ? mk4 escorts are doing very well ?

How did you get into this game ? just been pondering, must be some fascinating stories out there ? go with your dad to auction ? start in the spanner department ? i started with seeing a cortina for £30 in the local shop window, only down road so went and viewed it, no t or t, bought it, drove it back, cleaned it inside and out [added value ] and put it in the same shop window for £60 two days later SOLD . yes i am old

The internet may be revolutionary but it hasn’t revolutionised the way we sell cars, the primary reason for internet purchase is the expectation of a discount, the next is ease of purchase, when jo bloggs wants to p/ex his micra with bubbles on the back arch and a worn out ignition lock it gets complicated, and if amazons thinking of offering wbac rates its a non starter . rip virgin cars tesco cars etc

just had the same myself, broke the golden rule [sunday!) and gone in to " such a sweet sounding person " i shall put a prayer in for you if you put one in for me

said this before, so here we go again, invoice, so many just buy 100 carbon copy invoices either from ebay or car auction site salespeople, these are simply not good enough, and most do not comply anyway, basic simple terms, "who to contact in first instance" written on your invoice immediately is your defence to " ive had it in at jo bloggs autos and he says bla bla " you quote = There was nothing written into the contract. so change your invoice solicitor friend, make sure he knows consumer contract law, if he does, reword your invoice with him/her. welcome to forum and dont let the whatsits grind you down -
a VERY large company called autoquake went into administration 6 years ago. It was rumoured that another VERY large company would take them over due to there very large internet presence, they didnt. they bought instead into "carsite", another large company that had a big internet presence, this "company" that bought into them had pre-existing customers on there books who they had sold finance to, insurance to, and had millions of customers who had a discount card with them . it lasted a year the company? tesco. the reason all 3 failed ? they couldnt get stock. number one job is having the right stock. just buy my book " four wheels to a fortune " available all good bookshops
