I wouldn't buy one to retail, however I would take one as a PX as long as its a banger with a few years of recorded MOT's since the damage. I don't like the type of billy they attract.

Thanks, very kind words. Prople buy from people who they can trust, what you see it what you get, no bullshit, I tell it as it is. I’m brutally honest and I guarantee accuracy.

Not going to top that one David Horgan. But about 4 yrs ago we sold a Z4 Coupe and at the last moment the customer asked if we could take his old 1992 K reg MX5 in chop, which he didn't have with him. We agreed on £400 on his description. 2 days later he collected new car. I then looked at the MX5. Nothing special I thought until I spotted 4 yokohama tyres and what appeared to be air intake ducts under the front bumper and a big service folder on the front seat. Turns out he had owned the thing for about 10 years and it had been heavily modified, (8k of upgrades) Flyin miata conversion, garrett turbo, dump valve, suspension, cam, bottom end etc, etc. This thing chucked out 242bhp with virtually no weight to carry. One of the quickest things I have driven and handled like a go kart. Poor top end but it got to 90mph in a blink of an eye.

You had a low ball offer from someone off eBay and you’re still seething? Yesterday my trusted garages set fire to one of my cars. It’s a long story but the story still ends with a giant hole in the engine bay where an engine used to be. Accidents happen and i’d forgotten about it a few hours later. You could always just delete his email and forget about him.

I had a 1988 C4 corvette for a couple of years. Not something that I was out to buy but this thing was absolutely mint and a cracker for the money. Got some looks that's for sure. If I knew how to upload a picture I would lol.

In July I saw a white BMW 320D GT on a 64 plate enter the hall at Blackbushe, UK Car Group Trade. 21K miles, Cap Clean around £15K, retail around £17K, decent spec and almost as new, very nice and clean car, cat N which I hadn't heard of before but the auctioneer several times repeated non-structural and I thought I'd chance it. £9600 provisional to me, sold later in the day. Bear in mind a car like this cannot be sold on finance even though some companies are falsely advertising it. When it arrived our garage couldn't find the accident damage but there was a business card with a lady's name, same as the reg keeper so I called her. She told me the whole story: Minor bump, rear bumper damaged, repaired by a "BMW Approved" third party bodyshop and her insurer DirectLine paid out. Less than £2K repairs. However immediately on collection she had problems with the rear PDC non working, electric rear spoiler and both electric windows not working. Kicked up a huge fuss, the bodyshop couldn't help, couldn't fix it, DirectLine agreed to write the car off if she paid them back the repair cost and agreed to let her keep the "salvage" (look at it!) for another £5000. Which she did and promptly sold the car to WBAC, now cat N recorded for £8000. They sent it to BCA and that was it. A brand new control unit that was replaced by that bodyshop was not coded properly, an hour labour to fix, two new front tyres and that was it. Sold two months later for just under £14500. With a decent HPI Clear part ex.

Hi Elliot Income generation proposal for BEN I have just done my own survey of the Ben financial statements. While it is an excellent long established successfull charity with its dedication to the care and well being of retirees,it appears that this level of care has extended to its directors remuneration.I am unsure why 12 people should be earning approx.£2m plus benefits to run it.I would have thought there would be many retired main dealer principals who would do the same job for a fraction of the cost.

I had a trader ring me on a car we just bought, he had missed the auction and wanted me to accept a £400 drink on a £10k car. When I told him no it's hard enough to find good stock, he then went on to tell me how amazing it feels to have a car sold overnight, doesn't feel amazing at £400 I told him. Sold it a week later full price with a lovely PX.

Great idea, as the above says levels the playing field, anything that can crack down on misleading adverts and tries to get rid of the less than reputable dealers is welcome

All cars are crap/junk until sold. Even a 1000 BHP Bugatti will still get stuck in traffic like everything else, and where can you 'have fun' nowadays anyway? Get a motorbike if you want fun but you'll need to go on track days to appreciate it. I have bought a few T5 V70 AWD's over the last couple of years so they are out there. Felt old hat to me, and surely it's quick enough without 'improving it'...but then I'm clearly not the target audience anymore. Last time I liked cars was at the turn of the century. Most memorable was a top spec 840ci AC Snitzer. Wouldn't want it now...nowhere to put the dogs and it was forever rubbing speed bumps. Send him this; Hi, sorry but if you’re struggling to raise the difference I can accept the difference from a credit card (if you have one) by issuing you a purchase invoice via PayPal. Please bear in mind that I may have other people interested in it so it's best to call me BEFORE you travel to confirm it is still available. Best Regards

I hope so. We like a bit of smoke up here, it reminds us of when there was some heavy industry & employment rather than whippets & rickets.

It 'is' the future, whether we like it or not. Especially when he can start acquiring specialist knowledge and contacts for repair work. Interesting. i'd rather stick pins in my eyes than sell Micra's around here! I'm sure over the next few years all the smokey old bangers will get shipped up north for you!

One more deposit so three here and bought three at Blackbushe yesterday, the prices were all over the place. My hopes for a quiet December are already quashed.
