  1. Anybody got a decent warranty company for sports stuff, M3's etc. I use AutoGuard for the general stuff but they want £500 for a £2k claim limit on an 8 year old M3. Is that about right?
  2. Could you message me also please, currently using the instagram app but its a pain in the arse to transfer the pics from instagram to the computer.
  3. 2 deposits left today. Had a load of dreamers and time wasters so far this month, seems as though people have a lot of time on their hands to waste at the moment, does my head in!
  4. Got back on Monday from a 5 day trip to Spain, yard is frozen over, no water frozen pipes, not able to wash anything, cars frosted inside and out and not a customer in site, oh and a damaged vehicle that i left outside my house
  5. If you're using the classified style ads then there is no option to leave feedback from either party.
  6. 1 sunday, 1 yesterday, 2 today. Started to pick up for me just as i'm about to go away for a few days, always the way!
  7. At least you had a great start, i think i'm on 3 or 4 for the month The next 2 weeks need to pick up big time or i'll be joining you on the tills!
  8. Diddly squat, just the one for the week!

    TV LICENCE

f**k em! they're just trying their luck, scare a few people into paying by sending out generic letters, they have no way of proving if you have a t.v or what you use it for.

Yep you're correct on that one, i've seen the margins on the more expensive stuff get to a ridiculously low point now. I've got a £25k vehicle in stock and due to the supermarkets pricing similar cars at stupid money i'll be lucky to squeeze £1500 out of it when its all said and done, that will be my last big purchase from the block.
  11. Offer him a refund minus deductions, tell him this is not something you are legally obliged to do but as a gesture of good will you will do it on this occasion. If he says he wants a full refund plus collection, etc, etc tell him that his demands are unreasonable and not in line with the consumer rights act, you've tried your best so you have no choice but to now instruct your solicitor and suggest he does the same.
  12. I've heard many stories of big buyers closing their accounts with Manheim, they've also lost some big vendors. I was at a Manheim branch a few weeks back and there were 5 BCA trucks removing vehicles from the branch, one of the vendors pulled all their cars and switched to BCA, not a good look, especially on a sale day
  13. By the sounds of his demands I'm pretty sure he's not going to accept that. But if he does then that will be a good result for you, but as mentioned i don't think that will be the end of it. If it weren't a SMG M3 then I'd say pay for the repair and leave him with the car because that would probably be the end of it. But my experiences with SMG's is that the fault is never straight forward.
  14. What you'll find is even if you do come to some sort or agreement regarding repairs/collection/delivery when the car is returned to him he will be like a hawk listening and looking for any slight issue with car and you'll be dealing with him for the next 4 months. Refund is my advice.
  15. It's not in Manheim's interest to automatically upgrade you to the next tier up as then you will be spending less in buyer fee's. I've have had to chase each one of my account upgrades, i've paid a lot more buyers fee's than i should of due to being on a lower tier when i should have been on a higher tier.
  16. Same issue, lots of my purchases are missing. I'll be slowly transitioning over to BCA next year, general quality of everything at Manheim is on the slide!
  17. Same here, nothing all week. Few enquiries nobody serious.

Very surprising and sad to see, looking from the outside they looked to be doing everything right, great social media presence and marketing campaigns. I think the owner said they did too much too soon, maybe they overextended themselves. Suppose its like a domino effect once you get that big with that much staff and stock. A few bad months and it all starts to pile up.
  19. Exactly. For example if you type in www.basildoncarsales.co.uk into google search within the results a thread from this forum pops up named 'Getting really worried.....why am i so quite....any advice aperciated' The owner of Basildon Car Sales is a top bloke, have spoken to him over the phone in the past but if i were a customer doing a little background check on his company before purchasing a vehicle i may be put off by this thread.. This is a great forum and i really appreciate it, i login pretty much everyday but some things need to be private, the rest of the forum would still be active and everybody would still contribute as usual but for more sensitive info such as pricing, turnover and customer rants there needs to be a private area IMO.

    No V5?

As we all know there are a lot of vehicles that go through the auction with no v5. Always seems to be the exact car I'm looking for with no v5 present Do you guys still go for the car if you really want it? What then, send off for the v5 in your name or sell with no v5 and send off for a replacement in the customers name? I've done it a few times where I've just filled out the v62 replacement form with the customer but then there's the issue of taxing the vehicle.
  21. Fair enough, just suppose it depends on how open you would like people to be in that section of the forum.
  22. Is a copy of a motor trade certificate really proof that the person is a full time trading motor dealer? There are lots of part timers, students, etc who are knocking out a few cars from home who can supply a trade certificate.
  23. For the people that would like to join the private area maybe they would have to message you their dealer details, web, contact number, etc to confirm they are genuine traders.
  24. I have actually reduced pretty much everything for the last 7 days or so, hasn't made a difference, in fact the one vehicle i held at the full price sold yesterday So all the prices have gone back up again.
  25. Its so tempting to just slash the prices of all the stock when its quiet just to get things moving! What do you do with your pricing when its quiet, stick or twist?
