  1. Just checked, mine is 85p per debit card transaction, this is significantly less than wordpays % of each debit card transaction.
  2. I had Worldpay come in and set me up initially, the charge was a percentage of each transaction which seemed pretty low but like Rory said when i did the calculations over a year's worth of turnover it equated to a lot of charges. So before i signed up properly with Worldpay i contacted Barclays, they got me setup in around a week and they charge a set amount per transaction, i think around 85p, i'll have to double check when i'm in the office later. But it was a significant saving over worldpay. And it just makes the whole transaction smoother when i don't have to mention adding on a fee after somebody has just bought a car. I've got a mobile device from them with built in wifi so i can use it anywhere which helps if delivering a vehicle, great service so far. Check out Barclays guys, THIS is the one i've got.
  3. Nice result Umesh, i guess patience does pay off at times but i have to admit i've never had a customer start off by telling me my car is overpriced and then end up paying full whack.
  4. Refund completed, thank f**k for that, never been so happy to lose money!
  5. I simply ignore these enquiries. I used to respond to these types of enquiries but you can end up getting into days of exchanges with this type of customer and 99% of the time it leads to diddly squat.
  6. Luckily his PX vehicle hasn't been moved since he dropped it in so the mileage is the same which would make it very hard to dispute any mechanical issue, i got a pretty good deal on his PX vehicle so i'll probably just purchase it off him if he doesn't want it back. Anyway s**t happens, i'll get it resolved, not the end of the world just a bit of a pain in the arse and a loss financially, all part and parcel of this game, you win some you lose some. That's the last Mini i'll be buying unless under 3 years old.
  7. Pistons are faulty and the car is in with my mechanic, obviously not a quick turn around job but like you said this customer is a google 'expert' so i'm going to insist on a refund. To be honest i would have forced a refund a while ago but i took in his vehicle in PX so it makes it a little more difficult, but his vehicle is still here untouched so he can take it back.
  8. Anybody know what the legal standpoint is if the customer is refusing a refund? I've offered a refund multiple times but they are insisting on keeping the car and want it repaired, the problem is the car is in at the garage and is going to take at least a week to be repaired as its not a small job, this particular customer calls and texts me for an update a few times a day, everyday and its driving me mad, god forbid the car develops another fault after this, i really want rid of this customer. Can i force a refund?
  9. I thought it was free but my first one i did cost £12. Maybe somebody can shed some light and tell us if they're meant to be free or payable.
  10. I've just got setup with Lloyd Latchford who are a partner of Aviva, i was setup within a week, dealer system nice and easy to use. http://newdriveaway.co.uk/
  11. I used to buy a mixture of auction and private stuff and what i found ironically was that a lot of the private sellers are more unscrupulous than the auctions, lots of lies, hiding things, a few clocked cars, etc. You've got more of a guarantee with the auction stuff funnily enough.
  12. Can't believe it, six out of the six now!! Just had a call this morning for yet another Mini problem, sold this one around 10 days ago, 2002 full history, 1 previous Dr owner, very clean little car, drove spot on. The customer calls this morning, having trouble engaging gears, clutch pedal goes limp, etc. All 6 Mini's i've bought have had issues, ranging from a 2002 Mini one to a 2008 Mini Cooper S. Me and Mini's don't mix!
  13. Ouch! I hope my mechanics diagnose the fault correctly the first time round. I've not been so lucky with the R56's, bought 6 over the last couple of months, 2 needed a clutch. One needed o2 sensors changed, i got them changed and the management light was still on, never did get it off. Got one in the mechanic with suspected piston problems. Oh and had a call yesterday from one i sold a few weeks back, warning light has come on the dash. In fact i've never had one particular make/model give me so many issues. I can safely say i'm having a break from Mini's for a while
  14. I've currently got a Mini Cooper S 2008 R56 which was idling very rough and misfiring, its in at the mechanic at the moment and they reckon the pistons are buggered, have you come across any similar symptoms on a Cooper S? My one has done 79k with full history.
  15. Thanks everybody, have offered a refund, hope he accepts to be honest
  16. I've got a car that was sold a month ago and since then customer has been on to me about 'issues' with the car, he's had his mobile mechanic to fix the problems and i've reimbursed him each time. The car was a good little car, full history, low miles, no issues when i had it in. Now today another 'issue'. I'm pretty sure the car is fine and i've just got a neurotic customer that is never going to be happy. So i don't want to pay for any more works, otherwise its going to get silly, i would rather just issue a refund. So can i just refund him and take the car back? Am i legally obliged to fix the faults under warranty rather than issue a full refund?
  17. Yep dead for me too, 1 phone call. Update... Make that 2 phone calls, just got a possible warranty problem phone call
  18. Not the easiest to sell but like everything if its cheap enough it will sell, it's the right colour at least.
  19. High definition video of the bodywork would be beneficial. Video of the engine running won't really prove anything. Its going to be hard to convince dealers that salvage is a good avenue to go down as most who have tried have been stung.
  20. The HBC website is http://www.hbc.co.uk/ I'm registered with them mainly for the stolen recovered stuff but i've never managed to purchase anything, as we discussed in a previous thread regarding repossessions for me there just isn't enough profit margin in these cars to warrant to increased risk of buying a non runner, that's just my experience, i'm sure others do well out of it.
  21. The problem with these review sites is that major companies have in house teams that deal purely with posting positive reviews all day across all the major review platforms, so for every genuine negative review they receive they'll post another 20 positive reviews which is why AutoTrader currently have a 92% positive feedback score. Check the profile of nearly every positive review for AutoTrader on Trustpilot, nearly every 'reviewer' only has 1 or 2 reviews ever posted.
  22. I always treat my customers very well, i bend over backwards for them, often deliver cars for them free of charge, stay open late so they can pop down after work, i'm always on the end of the phone to answer any questions, even potential customers that don't end up buying cars from me, i've pointed them in the direction of ebay ads or other dealers that i think may have a suitable car for them, etc, etc, etc. The Mini customer for example, he got the Mini for a great price, lowest priced anywhere at the time, i just had a new clutch/flywheel fitted, new tyres, nice little car, no issues, full Mini service history. I even took his scooter in PX which nobody else would touch, gave him a good price on that also. Its for this reason that i take it personally when i feel a customer is trying their luck, i'd rather just refund them, can't be arsed with the endless complaints and i don't want anything to do with this kind of customer.
