That's sums it up, other than it being dirty ... We ended up replacing the cam belt, painted the rear bumper, mot, 4 wheels, sun visor clip, bonnet catch broke on collection ..... Paintwork was flat and lifeless and panel gaps were all wrong, just not a very nice car. Never ever again, it was picked up through trademail.

We had a cheap golf, I stayed until 9pm so they could view it, then they wanted to sleep on it, in the morning they called and had more questions, including what warranty (it had covered 150k) and what warranty on the timing belt ? Oh and still no deposit. Someone else calls 4hours away, we are coming by train and are just going to book train tickets will you hold it until we get there ? yep no problem, we pick them up from the station they buy it and drive it off. then I had the difficult call to make and say it had sold, I guess it was partly my fault for not getting the answers quick enough but in the meantime some else said they were coming, if your interested in a car just put a deposit on it otherwise it can and will sell.

Sorry for the dragging up of an old post, is trusted buyers one company similar to wbac or is it made up from various dealers ? The reason I ask is we took a car from them and it was very poor, any profit has long since gone in having to put most of the bodywork right and replace missing bits.

How quickly do you turn over your stock?
Steve92 replied to bestprice4cash's topic in General Dealer Chat
Hang on ... It was late when I typed that ..... I'll have a proper look at the entire stock tomorrow, the average time to sell a car was showing as 9 days yesterday, the longest we have had a car in the last few months was a z4 at 34 days. -

Average for us is 9 days from going on the books to it leaving the door. -
It's been good so far, not sure on the exact numbers though.

We had a customer call about a 640d with a px, we offered 7k for the px only to be told it was way too low as what car said his car was worth £9600. So we ended the call. We thought it would be nice to see what they valued our 640d at, we had it listed at £21990, what car said the retail price should be £26800. So we called the customer back and told them the good news, we could offer £9600 for the px however we would want £26800 for the 640d, they weren't so keen on this deal either.....

Would a freelander needing a new fuel pump be of any use ? It's an 04 HSE, it's a td4. The garage near us are storing it for the owner who doesn't want to spend anymore on it.

Surely it's got to be the jimny ? The pinin isn't bad then it's mk1/2 discovery I guess. The jimny seems to drop no lower than 2k.

We had them send us lists on a weekly basis, the ones that we were interested in were usually listed just below retail and when you added the buyers fee and delivery it made them overpriced, and yes we realised it wasn't autorolas fault.

We have just had our account closed because we didn't buy anything from them .... That's because all the cars were way over priced.

Some banks won't allow bank transfers over £10,000 though.

I had a tow bar on my 206 .... It was for a bike rack.

Who's that with ?

What are the clearance times on your card machines, Barclays looks like it's 3-4 days, I think ours- whoever we use are 3 days.

That reads more like a scam email too me. I wouldn't reply to it. The GTR we had advertised at 35k we had an offer of 25k for which I did respond to, sometimes people have budgets that they want to stick too but they usually say I have £xxxx to spend.

What's the fault and who has the car ?

£12.95 for the latch ford scheme, that's for 5 days. The customer pays (well they do with us) and they don't seem to have an issue. You can either log I as a dealer and complete it (with the customer present) or give the customer your dealer code and a link and then they can do it. If they do it then you need to log in and activate the policy. you need to print off 2 copies of the cover note, give one to them, the other they need to sign and you keep. It won't cover all cars and some job titles are a no go, so sometimes you need to remove business cover etc. It's quick and easy, just make sure you inform the customer they will be called by Aviva and they will try and upsell a policy.

The other thing to bare in mind other than you have to travel is that you have to go the same day to view it and be prepared to meet them after work. It's why so far this week I'm on 52 hours ....
